00:00Hello and welcome to our latest weather update from the Met Office. So we've seen a fair
00:05amount of rain and showers around this weekend so far and that is all due to this area of
00:11low pressure that's been out to the west of the UK for some time now. This low out in
00:16the North Sea is bringing some pretty persistent and heavy rain across Scotland and North East
00:21England through today but that will pull away as we go into the new working week. So looking
00:25at the detail for today, plenty of wet and windy conditions across Scotland, especially
00:30around coastal areas. That's feeding into north eastern parts of England too so there
00:35could be some localised disruption in this area throughout today. Elsewhere it's another
00:41day of sunny spells and showers and these will be frequent in some of the southern and
00:45western coasts, especially across southern parts of Wales, becoming slightly less frequent
00:51for southeastern areas as we go into the latter part of this afternoon. There will be some
00:55brightness around today though, especially across central and eastern areas. It'll feel
01:00pretty pleasant away from the stronger winds around the coast with highs of 14 to 15. Now
01:05moving into this evening and that rain across the north east will slowly pull away into
01:10the North Sea, so becoming increasingly dry here. Showers further south as well, becoming
01:15more confined to southern and western coasts, so allowing for a few clear spells in the
01:20east and we'll also see things clearing up across Scotland too. So we could see the odd
01:25patch of mist and fog away from the windier coasts. Temperatures tonight as well, cooler
01:30across Scotland where we've now got those northerly winds, so maybe the odd touch of
01:36frost here in the north west. So to start Monday morning there will be some brighter
01:41skies around, especially across Scotland where it'll be a drier day, maybe still the odd
01:46patch of rain in the east. Showers though quickly feeding into southern and western
01:51coasts and becoming banded and a bit more organised as we move into Northern Ireland
01:55throughout the day. Some more brightness though across southern parts of England compared
02:00to the weekend and feeling pretty pleasant in the sunshine away from the windier coasts
02:04with highs of 15 to 16. Now with plenty of clear skies around as we go into Monday evening
02:10there's another risk of some mist and fog to start Tuesday and again with those northerly
02:15winds across Scotland maybe a touch of frost too. Showers continuing to feed into Northern
02:21Ireland and fairly organised and heavy there and they'll start to edge their way slightly
02:26further east as well into southern parts of England and Wales too. Thank you for listening
