00:00Hello, and welcome to your latest weather update from the Met Office.
00:04It's been quite an unsettled start to the weekend, particularly across England and Wales,
00:08with a band of rain moving northwards.
00:11And this will continue through this afternoon, bringing some heavy outbreaks of rain at times.
00:17This will be followed by some scattered showers, particularly across Wales and south-west England.
00:23And again, these could be heavy at times this afternoon.
00:26Away from the rain and those showers, it will be a nicer afternoon, with some bright
00:31or sunny spells, particularly in the south-east, where we could see some quite unseasonably
00:35warm temperatures this afternoon, with highs of around 21, or maybe even a local 22.
00:42Now looking ahead to this evening then, and that band of rain is going to continue northwards
00:47to really only be affecting the Northern Isles by the early hours of Sunday.
00:52It'll be generally dry across the rest of the UK throughout tonight, with the exception
00:57of maybe the far south-east of England that could see some light or patchy rain at times.
01:04Showers will also start to feed in during the early hours to Northern Ireland and western
01:08parts of England and Wales.
01:11It will remain mild tonight as well, with most towns and cities remaining in the double
01:15figures tonight, though across Northern Ireland, Northern England and parts of Scotland, we
01:19could just see some rural places dropping into the single figures.
01:24Now to start Sunday, it will be quite a nice dry start for many, with the exception of
01:29that band of rain across the south-east, maybe just bringing some light and patchy rain to
01:33start the day.
01:35Showers will then feed in from the west on the strong south-westerly winds through Sunday,
01:40bringing some heavy showers that could contain hail and may even be a local thunderstorm
01:45throughout the day tomorrow.
01:48Showers will be a touch down on what we're expecting for today, with highs of around
01:5116 to 18 on Sunday.
01:55Through Sunday evening, showers will continue, particularly across Northern Ireland, Northern
01:59England and across Scotland, though into the overnight period we will start to see these
02:03showers fade, and it will be mostly dry with some clear spells.
02:09Now looking ahead to Halloween and the start of November, it will be quite unsettled with
02:12low pressure never too far away, and those tightly packed isobars showing it will be
02:17quite windy as well at times.
