00:00:00Over three months ago, I invited 18 candidates to come to New York City for a 15-week job
00:00:17interview and the chance to win the dream job of a lifetime.
00:00:23They came from various backgrounds and from all over the country.
00:00:27Some had little or no formal education, while others had multiple degrees from the best
00:00:33universities anywhere in the world.
00:00:37But they all shared the same goal, to work for me as my apprentice.
00:00:41Who loves The Apprentice?
00:00:45The teams picked their corporate names.
00:00:47What are your team names?
00:00:48Apex Corp.
00:00:50Mosaic.
00:00:51And each week they were assigned business tasks, working with some of the biggest companies
00:00:55in the world.
00:00:58Their first task was to come up with a new toy for Mattel.
00:01:01If a boy 6 to 8 had an Easy-Bake Oven, what would that be?
00:01:06And right away, the candidates clashed.
00:01:08We're going with the football idea.
00:01:10I'm making an executive decision.
00:01:11If I could just get my hands around his throat, his jugular, I would absolutely take him out
00:01:17right now.
00:01:18Leading the strong-minded women of Apex, Bradford won the task.
00:01:24Along with an added bonus, as project manager of the winning team, he was exempt.
00:01:30Bradford, if you lose next week, you can't be fired.
00:01:34Love it.
00:01:35But, as project manager of the losing team, Pamela brought Andy and Rob back into the
00:01:41boardroom.
00:01:42Everybody said, you just didn't contribute.
00:01:45Rob, you're fired.
00:01:48For the second task, the teams were told to sell ice cream.
00:01:53Mosaic made the decision to donate a portion of the proceeds to a charity.
00:01:58Health by Dancer, and you got it.
00:01:59Come on, we got to sell.
00:02:00Boom, boom, boom.
00:02:01As project manager, Kelly led Mosaic to their first victory.
00:02:05Is it possible by any chance to have the entire amount donated to the charity?
00:02:10Yes, I would say yes.
00:02:12Later in the boardroom, Bradford made a terrible mistake and gave up his exemption.
00:02:18Bradford made an impulsive decision, a stupid, impulsive, life-threatening decision.
00:02:25Bradford, you're fired.
00:02:29Constant bickering tore the women apart.
00:02:31This is crazy.
00:02:32I have done everything you've asked.
00:02:34Don't walk away from me.
00:02:36They lost the next two tasks.
00:02:39So first, I fired Stacey J, and then Jennifer C.
00:02:44I thought adding Pamela to Apex might help straighten out the women's team.
00:02:48We're going to see if you can pull this whole mess together.
00:02:51But all the women disagreed with Pamela's decision.
00:02:54We're looking at nearly $30 for the package.
00:02:57Jennifer impressed her team and QVC viewers with her calm demeanor on live television.
00:03:02I think Jen is more convincing than I am.
00:03:04I do too.
00:03:05But Kelly's daring pricing strategy...
00:03:08I think we need to stay over $70 to try to maximize our revenue.
00:03:11...allowed Mosaic to win by the slimmest of margins.
00:03:14Carolyn, how did the men do?
00:03:16Mosaic wins by $10.40.
00:03:19Yes! Good call, baby. Good call.
00:03:22Pamela's pricing strategy missed the mark, and she was the next to go.
00:03:27But the women of Apex rebounded and won the fashion task...
00:03:32Finally! Finally!
00:03:36...sending Mosaic's project manager, John, right home.
00:03:40John, you're fired.
00:03:45In order to create a more accurate business environment,
00:03:48the candidates were switched up in a corporate restructuring.
00:03:52It's no longer about the sexes squared off against one another.
00:03:55For me, it's a good change.
00:03:57And I challenged the new teams to create a dog service business.
00:04:03As project manager, Jennifer helped Apex decimate Mosaic.
00:04:08Congratulations, Apex. Almost three times as much profit.
00:04:12Stacey R. never stopped complaining.
00:04:14...on every potential topic in marketing and branding, and it was always just too much.
00:04:19So, I fired her.
00:04:22Then I let Elizabeth go for her indecisiveness.
00:04:25Raj made too many mistakes renovating a house.
00:04:28And I let Chris go for very poor leadership.
00:04:31Chris, you're fired.
00:04:34When Kelly joined Apex for the Levi's task,
00:04:38he and Jennifer worked side-by-side for the first and only time.
00:04:42Oh, smokes!
00:04:44When Jen walked out in these tight little jeans and a T-shirt, I was like...
00:04:48And Apex won the task.
00:04:51Who did you think did the best job?
00:04:53I would have to say I think that Jen did the best job all around.
00:04:56Due to bad leadership and infighting, drastic measures had to be taken.
00:05:01Maria, you're fired.
00:05:04And I just have to do this. I have no choice.
00:05:07Wes, you're fired also.
00:05:11That's the first time I ever heard those words.
00:05:13Me too. I've never been fired as well.
00:05:16I would at least like my own cab.
00:05:18By then, Jennifer and Kelly emerged as two of the strongest candidates.
00:05:23Neither one had lost as project managers.
00:05:26I personally think that Kelly is both talented and a well-seasoned entrepreneur.
00:05:32I think Jen, she's just super strong.
00:05:34She's the kind of person, you tell her to do something and she takes care of the problem.
00:05:37At Pepsi headquarters, Andy had his own problems to deal with.
00:05:41He led his team to an embarrassing defeat.
00:05:44That is ugly.
00:05:47Later, the nationally ranked debate champion was pummeled in the boardroom.
00:05:51Building an alliance and coming up with a global alliance.
00:05:54Andy, you're just being pounded on. You're being out-debated. You're fired.
00:06:01On the final task, Ivana resorted to desperate measures while selling a candy bar.
00:06:10And then failed to defend her bad decisions.
00:06:13But you know what, Ivana? You made a lot of bad decisions and frankly, you've lost too much.
00:06:18You're fired.
00:06:20Last week, Jennifer caught Kelly and Sandy talking behind her back.
00:06:25She totally, she was like, and then you're like, well, are you going to?
00:06:30It's not true that I was sitting there saying, if you want it, that makes no sense.
00:06:33I mean, just for the record, sure, if you want to discuss it.
00:06:36No, Kelly just said, I heard you guys.
00:06:38There's no use arguing about it.
00:06:39Hey, say it when I'm in the room.
00:06:40Kelly's kind of a coward. It's just all about whispers.
00:06:43At least say it when I'm in the room. You know, be a man.
00:06:47I dissolved the teams and the final four, Sandy, Jennifer, Kevin and Kelly,
00:06:53faced a tough series of interviews with four of the biggest business executives in the world.
00:06:59Robert Kraft, owner of the New England Patriots.
00:07:02Dawn Hudson, president of Pepsi-Cola North America.
00:07:06Ace Greenberg, chairman of Bear Stearns.
00:07:09And Alan Joke, chief operating officer of Unilever North America.
00:07:15Do attorneys make good business people?
00:07:17Have you ever had an experience in a corporate environment before?
00:07:20Do people like you?
00:07:21Is that really what you want?
00:07:23Do you know what you want to do?
00:07:24Answer the question. Have you thought about us?
00:07:26I guess something that Donald needs. I don't know. I doubt it.
00:07:28They gave me their impressions of the final four candidates.
00:07:32What do you think of Kevin?
00:07:34My question on Kevin is he's had a number of missteps and he keeps course correcting along the way.
00:07:40And if I were in your shoes, I'd be wondering, is he going to course correct again?
00:07:45What do you think?
00:07:46Kelly would have to do something real wrong for me not to hire him.
00:07:49To me, he is the ultimate team guy.
00:07:51Kelly has one thing going for him that you can't get away from,
00:07:54and that is he's led and he's been led. None of these people have that.
00:07:57What did you think of Jennifer?
00:07:59I thought she was very bright and focused.
00:08:02I felt that Jennifer and Sandy were a close call, but working through your big organization,
00:08:07I think Jennifer might have the edge in that environment.
00:08:10As a result, I fired two more candidates, first Kevin, then Sandy.
00:08:16Only two remain. Kelly, an Army Ranger trained at West Point,
00:08:21holds an MBA and has come far due to his planning and efficiency.
00:08:27No, listen for a second. No, no, there's three more minutes on flavor, no matter what happens.
00:08:30Okay.
00:08:31My military experience taught me a great deal about leading people.
00:08:35Basically, be collaborative, but then once a decision is made,
00:08:38I expect everybody to fall in line, pick up their weight, and execute.
00:08:42Jennifer went to Princeton and Harvard Law School and graduated at the top of her class.
00:08:48She's managed to avoid conflict and remain level-headed under very, very intense pressure.
00:08:54My leadership style is really all about delegating and overseeing.
00:08:58I need you guys just to promote. Get excited about it.
00:09:01I need you guys, like, energy level up here.
00:09:04After weeks of testing their skills in business from management to marketing,
00:09:09I gave Jennifer and Kelly their final tasks.
00:09:12Kelly, you'll manage the Genworth Trump Polo Cup.
00:09:16Jennifer, you're going to be in charge of the Genworth Charity Basketball Classic.
00:09:21The new bosses each drafted three of their former teammates.
00:09:25Kelly headed to Greenwich, Connecticut with John, Raj, and Elizabeth.
00:09:30I hope Kelly wins. I think he's a good fit with the organization.
00:09:33Jennifer went off to Riverbank State Park with Chris, Pamela, and Stacey.
00:09:38I'm glad that I'm on Jen's team. I really want her to win.
00:09:41Upon arrival, Kelly's team received some good news from Chris Brand,
00:09:46the managing director of the polo field.
00:09:49Is this fax wrap for you guys?
00:09:53Kelly, Tony Bennett is coming.
00:09:55That's a pretty big thing.
00:09:56That's great.
00:09:57Tony Bennett is cool, in my opinion.
00:09:58Then, just as quickly, things just fell apart.
00:10:02I'll start putting together that spreadsheet for you,
00:10:04and then you can write on it once you start talking to him.
00:10:06Kelly's micromanagement annoyed his team.
00:10:09At a certain point, Raj and I got fed up.
00:10:12I'm going to get my work done because I'm hardworking and I want to succeed,
00:10:15but hey, I'm going to enjoy it.
00:10:16Race you to the sign?
00:10:23Torrential rain soaked the polo grounds.
00:10:26Mother Nature is not cooperating.
00:10:28Then came the most troubling news of all.
00:10:31When it rains, when the field is too wet, the game has to be canceled.
00:10:36If it's dry and sunny tomorrow, we'll be fine.
00:10:38It depends how much it rains tonight.
00:10:40I don't really have a plan B, and I'm at kind of the weather's mercy right now.
00:10:47In Riverbank State Park, Jennifer ran into some trouble of her own.
00:10:52Genworth Financial, the sponsors of the event, were dissatisfied with her planning.
00:10:58We've been really frustrated with Jennifer
00:11:00because I don't think she has everything worked out.
00:11:02I hope it's not going to be a disaster.
00:11:04Despite her teammates' concerns,
00:11:06Jennifer delegated some of the most important tasks,
00:11:10tasks that she should have been doing herself.
00:11:13I told Pamela and Chris that I really wanted them to focus on talking with the NBA,
00:11:17making sure that the players are lined up.
00:11:19Hey, Rudy, this is Pamela and Chris calling about the Genworth Charity Basketball Classic.
00:11:24If I were Jennifer, I would not have handed off the NBA.
00:11:27Would a real CEO do that? Never in a million years.
00:11:31Then, just as things couldn't get any worse,
00:11:34NBA star Chris Webber, their master of ceremonies,
00:11:38threatened to back out at the last minute.
00:11:40We have sold it all along as a Chris Webber event
00:11:43because you guys committed to that.
00:11:45It basically blows the entire event.
00:11:49Tonight, the two rivals go head-to-head
00:11:52in the final hours of the world's toughest job interview.
00:11:56When they've completed their tasks,
00:11:58they'll return to the boardroom where I'll decide who'll win
00:12:01and who's going to be running one of my companies.
00:12:04Who will succeed? Who will fail?
00:12:06And who will be the apprentice?
00:12:18Money, money, money, money, money.
00:12:26Some people got to have it.
00:12:31Some people really need it.
00:12:35Listen to me, y'all.
00:12:36Do things, do things, do things, bad things, baby.
00:12:43Dollar bills, y'all.
00:12:44Come on, baby.
00:12:45Deal, oh, deal.
00:12:49Make great almighty dollars.
00:12:54I don't know that money.
00:12:58Give me a nickel, brother.
00:13:00Can you spell that?
00:13:03Money can drive some people out of their mind.
00:13:11Money, money, money, money, money.
00:13:22You know, I've heard everything you've said.
00:13:24The bottom line is that Chris had a very firm commitment with us.
00:13:28Not only that, but he's doing it at the very last minute.
00:13:31You're leaving us without an emcee for this event.
00:13:34We have sold it all along as a Chris Webber event
00:13:36because you guys committed to that.
00:13:38It basically blows the entire event.
00:13:40Jennifer, you know, she was aggressive.
00:13:43I didn't blame her.
00:13:44You know, some people might say, well, you should be nice, this and that.
00:13:46Get the **** out of here.
00:13:47Be nice, this and that.
00:13:48You tell me you're going to be there,
00:13:50and nine hours before tell me you're not going to be there?
00:13:53There's no time for nice.
00:13:54None of us are stupid enough to believe that he can't alter that meeting, okay?
00:13:58It's about him being a no-show tomorrow in front of 500 VIPs.
00:14:01Jennifer seems like such a low-key manager,
00:14:04and then when something goes wrong, she really snaps at people.
00:14:07Oh, man, she bitch-slapped Chris Webber's assistant.
00:14:10Bottom line, you're leaving us in the lurch,
00:14:13so, you know, that's on Chris's conscience.
00:14:17Chris Webber's assistant told us it's a done deal,
00:14:21there's no way that Chris Webber can show up,
00:14:23and he's not going to be your emcee tomorrow.
00:14:25I spoke to her at least four times today,
00:14:27and I spoke to her three times yesterday.
00:14:29We've got to have a contingency plan,
00:14:30so contingency plan is one of those players is going to emcee.
00:14:33What does the emcee do?
00:14:35He's basically going to just introduce the event and talk about the charity.
00:14:38I'm under a lot of pressure right now.
00:14:40It's a very short timeline to pull off a huge event.
00:14:43There's about 500 moving pieces going on.
00:14:46I think tomorrow morning's going to be chaotic.
00:14:47As much as we can get done tonight is the way to go.
00:14:54Why don't you go in these dopey baggies?
00:14:56John will show you.
00:14:58First, you get the Genworth folio.
00:15:03I've got 400 of these to do, so you might as well get into it.
00:15:06Oh my God.
00:15:08This is undignified.
00:15:10Now with all the tissue paper and the wrappings we take out,
00:15:13you do that with it, because it pisses off Kelly and it's funny.
00:15:16I am stressing because my task is to put on a polo match
00:15:20and a charity dinner after the polo match.
00:15:22I'm just keeping my fingers crossed, saying prayers,
00:15:24please let it be bright and sunny all day tomorrow
00:15:27while the grass and ground dries so that we can have this polo match.
00:15:31That's not champagne.
00:15:32That's not champagne.
00:15:33That's wine.
00:15:34I think we should have a bottle.
00:15:35Taste it.
00:15:36Raj, do you agree?
00:15:38Sure.
00:15:39John pops open a bottle of wine and starts offering everybody a glass of wine,
00:15:42and I think Raj might have had a glass, but John had a couple.
00:15:51You know, I got a little bit loopy.
00:15:52Kelly got all pissy about it, but I don't much care.
00:15:56I think we should hire some people, because just putting together one goody bag
00:15:59takes a long time.
00:16:00The way you're doing it right now, I absolutely will.
00:16:03But if there's one line of all the crap,
00:16:05the four of us can walk in a circle for half an hour and be done with them.
00:16:09I had basically laid down the law and said,
00:16:11we will have the goody bags done before we go to bed,
00:16:13and that was John's purview,
00:16:15and I did not want the sponsors walking and seeing that mess.
00:16:18This is a pathetic task.
00:16:20I told him, two hunch.
00:16:22We could have had this done by a bunch of minimum labors.
00:16:25I don't see Kelly really trying to motivate his fired staff.
00:16:31If there's one thing I think he's failing on, I'd probably say it's that
00:16:35these three people don't have to be here.
00:16:37Perhaps he shouldn't work them until midnight,
00:16:39say thanks for being here and please help me out, or something to that effect.
00:16:43He's being a little robotic.
00:16:44Put all the banners right over there.
00:16:52When people come in, they're going to say,
00:16:53hi, I'm John Smith, and I'm here with Genworth,
00:16:55and we're going to need to say, okay, when you walk in,
00:16:58either hand him something or say when you walk in, these are Genworth.
00:17:02I'm thinking if we can't have a tenant show up to their seats,
00:17:05I'm thinking the map.
00:17:06Hey, Stacy, did you call the concessionaire?
00:17:09Jennifer is fighting to be the apprentice.
00:17:11I would expect her not to go to sleep.
00:17:13I would expect her to stay up for 48 hours if she has to.
00:17:16Okay, so I go to bed?
00:17:17Soon.
00:17:19I stayed up while the rest of the team went to bed.
00:17:21I wanted them to get a few hours of sleep.
00:17:23I stayed up and finished all the timelines and the signs.
00:17:26Night, guys. I'll wake you up at 7.
00:17:32She didn't have to be up all night printing out these little goofy one-page signs.
00:17:37She should have been spending more time, I think, strategizing on
00:17:41how are we effectively going to manage these sponsors,
00:17:43how are we going to raise more money, how are we going to manage the NBA.
00:17:48It may come back to bite her in the ass. I don't know.
00:17:52So, Elizabeth, are you ready to go to Kinko's?
00:17:54Yeah, sure.
00:17:58Now, what exit am I looking for?
00:18:00It says 28W or I-287.
00:18:04I've got everything ready to go on the file to print this stuff at the copy center.
00:18:08Elizabeth checks the mileage again. It's supposed to be 15 minutes away.
00:18:11So you're taking I-287 west.
00:18:14We probably spend 45 minutes to an hour additional driving around
00:18:20the backwoods of Connecticut.
00:18:22Red Oak Lane.
00:18:24I don't actually need sleep tonight, but I absolutely have to make sure that John and Raj do.
00:18:28Raj is useless without sleep. He's walking around like a zombie and he's got an important role tomorrow.
00:18:32He's really kind of my ops guy.
00:18:37We need to lean it back.
00:18:38I'm leaning it.
00:18:40Is it heavy?
00:18:41Yeah.
00:18:42It's not heavy on my end.
00:18:43It's heavy on my end.
00:18:46What was that?
00:18:48Oh, that's not good.
00:18:49Uh-oh.
00:18:51Uh-oh.
00:18:53What'd you do?
00:18:54You broke it.
00:18:55Oh, man. You know what? I think it's bent.
00:18:58Some of the poles have kind of broken apart.
00:19:00And at this point, the structure's not together. It's very fragile.
00:19:03You broke your side.
00:19:05I didn't break my side.
00:19:06What's it going to look like if the sign is broken totally?
00:19:09Then what does it look like to a sponsor when we don't have a sign?
00:19:13I did break it a little bit.
00:19:16Maybe we should have dropped those guys off.
00:19:21This is Kelly.
00:19:22Hey, Kelly. Where are you, sir?
00:19:24We have no idea where we are and I'm really sorry.
00:19:27I know you guys need to sleep, but it's going to be an hour and a half instead of an hour.
00:19:31Thanks.
00:19:33I just was really stressed out. I'm like, okay, we're coming up on the biggest day to perform
00:19:38and I've just screwed people out of at least another hour and a half of sleep.
00:19:42I should have mapped things specifically.
00:19:44Shouldn't have left it to Elizabeth.
00:19:46Should have been more controlling.
00:19:48Wish I could have influenced it more.
00:19:50Didn't do it, but I was really worried.
00:19:52But there still sounds like getting some stuff done.
00:19:54How long until we get our next phone call from him?
00:19:59Hear those frogs?
00:20:01Those are Canadian geese.
00:20:03No, that's a frog.
00:20:05That's also a goose.
00:20:06Was a goose and now it's a frog.
00:20:08No, there was a goose and a frog.
00:20:10And the goose and the frog were singing together and now just the frog is singing.
00:20:14Correct. You finally got it.
00:20:16How far away is he?
00:20:18He's in Greenwich Business District.
00:20:20At a certain point, Raj and I got fed up.
00:20:22I don't remember what time it was. It was early morning for sure.
00:20:25And we decided to lie down on the benches and wait for Magellan and crew to get back.
00:20:30From wherever it is, they were lost.
00:20:34I think I hear him coming.
00:20:41How's it going?
00:20:42Morning. How are you?
00:20:43Morning. It looks a lot better today, huh?
00:20:44Yeah.
00:20:45It actually looks like a court.
00:20:46Today is the day.
00:20:48We're actually going to pull off a game with NBA players.
00:20:51Our charity is actually a program Read to Achieve.
00:20:54It's an NBA charity event for reading, kids getting into reading and having their parents read to them.
00:21:00I wanted to get my team excited about their roles
00:21:03and I wanted to give them big chunks of responsibilities that they could take over and own.
00:21:07And I put Pamela in charge of orchestration of the game, how everything would flow.
00:21:11Jenworth, the executives are outside. You met them last night.
00:21:14If you get a chance to go out there and talk to them about the halftime report, they'd love it.
00:21:17Right.
00:21:18When you're done.
00:21:19Will do.
00:21:21I wound up being responsible for the players.
00:21:23I was in charge of what happened during the game.
00:21:25So that included the halftime shows, the timeouts, the dancers, all of the NBA personnel.
00:21:31Then we escort players back to the locker rooms for showers.
00:21:34About a half an hour for that and then we take them over.
00:21:36Okay.
00:21:37Janice.
00:21:38Hi.
00:21:39Did they show up?
00:21:40They're all set.
00:21:42I knew that I would need to be doing a lot of behind the scenes work.
00:21:44I was ultimately the one in charge of speaking with all of the corporate sponsors, making sure they were happy.
00:21:50I had a 9.30 meeting scheduled with Jenworth, who's our biggest corporate sponsor.
00:21:54I think we should be right in the front here as people are coming in.
00:21:58So you're seeing maybe your table right here next to the check-in.
00:22:03So you heard the news.
00:22:04Unfortunately, Chris Webber canceled in the wee hours of the morning.
00:22:07That's why you didn't hear from us until today about it.
00:22:09I made a very special point of walking them through the facility, answering any further questions they had.
00:22:15Our invitees are sitting in this area right here.
00:22:17Exactly.
00:22:18And how are they going to be directed into this area again?
00:22:20Are they just going to have a sign?
00:22:22Well, we've got a lot of signs to put up.
00:22:24I don't think they're used to an event being planned on this short of a timeline.
00:22:27When they came back, they saw that we had made a lot of progress throughout the night.
00:22:30So I think at that point, they began to feel much more reassured.
00:22:33Let me know if there's anything else that comes up.
00:22:35All right, great. Take care. See you later.
00:22:37Tell me, how's it going? What's your feeling?
00:22:39I think she did make some progress, but I don't really see a lot of other stuff done.
00:22:45Our CEO is coming to do a couple of presentations, and we don't really have an emcee.
00:22:49The execs at Jenworth Financial were disappointed. They were unhappy.
00:22:53They still have a lot of butterflies about how this thing is going to come off.
00:22:58The only other critical, I think, thing here is the fact that she didn't really come up with any good ideas for us.
00:23:04She just kept pushing it back on us. So we're not really putting on the event.
00:23:08Jen should be telling them how she anticipates it to be running smoothly, not asking them,
00:23:13how do you want it to go?
00:23:15There's only two hours away, and there's an awful lot to be done that's not done.
00:23:20Hey, Raj? Yeah?
00:23:22I do not want this stuff on the line, okay? I've been waiting for you. Raj?
00:23:26It's not touching anything. It's on its edges.
00:23:29You guys, the plastic's bent. Let's just, I don't want it.
00:23:31It's plastic!
00:23:32I guarantee you 100%, I'm not going to help you do something stupid. It's going to fall right down again.
00:23:36You guys.
00:23:37If it's broken, it's broken. If it's not broken, putting it up, putting it right down.
00:23:40I'll get it up for you. Don't worry. Just not now.
00:23:43It's totally wrapped up in a piece of plastic.
00:23:47It's totally wrapped up in a shelf.
00:23:57I wasn't going to be the damsel in distress that they could walk all over.
00:24:01If I didn't take a stronger, forceful approach with these guys,
00:24:05that they were just going to sort of not listen to me.
00:24:11You guys, I'm not interested in being nice today. I am Dictator Elizabeth, okay?
00:24:15I'm not going to do this. I'm not going to argue with you.
00:24:18But you're not my dictator, Elizabeth. You need to know that I'll try to help you.
00:24:21Look, Raj.
00:24:22Oh, Elizabeth.
00:24:23Here's the thing. When I ask you to do something, don't argue with me. Just do it today.
00:24:28I have to set the tone. I have to set the tone for you guys. I have to set the tone over there.
00:24:31You're not setting my tone, darling.
00:24:32Raj.
00:24:33I understand what you're wrong.
00:24:34We can't have a broken sign.
00:24:35Seriously, let me talk.
00:24:36Elizabeth.
00:24:37Alright?
00:24:38This is the problem that you had before.
00:24:39Hey, Raj, Raj. There's not a problem.
00:24:41The only problem is in the feelings that are going on right here.
00:24:43I have no feelings.
00:24:44No, there are. There are definitely feelings.
00:24:46I don't have any feelings.
00:24:47Okay, then just listen.
00:24:48Alright, I'll listen to you.
00:24:49And you, Elizabeth, stop acting like a dictator.
00:24:51To say, I'm your dictator for the day is not the right way to approach him or him.
00:24:55Okay, so wrong terminology.
00:24:56Okay, that's cool.
00:24:57But here's what I want to do. I want to not ever have this happen again today.
00:25:00Right.
00:25:01It sounded like there just needed to be one more step of communication.
00:25:02Can you both try to be nicer about and think that the other person's thinking bad crap?
00:25:08It felt like a mediation to some degree.
00:25:10But also almost like I was, you know, paddling little kids and telling them to, you know, stop fighting.
00:25:15Here's the deal.
00:25:16I need the three of you to work together well.
00:25:18What I'm asking for is each of you has a specialty today.
00:25:21And for you to try to defer to the other one and help them out.
00:25:24And what we need to do is do as best you can right then and let me know if something feels weird.
00:25:30Guys, I'm sorry if I came in here acting like a dictator.
00:25:33That was not my intention.
00:25:34She's off of that now.
00:25:35I'm done.
00:25:36Get those signs up.
00:25:37I want to hear what you guys have to say.
00:25:38Just let me know when you're done.
00:25:39It'll get done.
00:25:40Fine. And we'll elevate any issues to you.
00:25:41Yeah.
00:25:42Or talk about the next solution stuff.
00:25:44Right.
00:25:45I have to give Kelly some credit.
00:25:47He mediated well.
00:25:48He understands to an extent human beings.
00:25:51And, you know, that is a form of leadership.
00:25:54Thanks, guys.
00:25:57All right.
00:25:59Chris, can I make an introduction?
00:26:01This is John from Xbox.
00:26:03How's it going?
00:26:04Nice to meet you.
00:26:05We had talked about making sure that his signs get put up when he brings them out.
00:26:07All right. That works.
00:26:08Do you want me to walk you over to the player's lounge?
00:26:10Okay.
00:26:11Xbox is one of our biggest sponsors, so we want to keep them happy, too,
00:26:14and make sure they know that the players are getting to use their video game.
00:26:18Yeah, we wanted to get very comfortable lounges so the guys will be comfortable playing your game.
00:26:22Yeah, it looks good.
00:26:23We're going to have a big food set up, so everybody's going to be kicking back.
00:26:27Nice. You got them. You got them.
00:26:28I'm sure the players are going to love that.
00:26:30I mean, they're big video game freaks, and it's an interactive game.
00:26:33Hi, gentlemen.
00:26:34I think I know where you're trying to go.
00:26:36So when the players started showing up, I showed them to where the gymnasium was.
00:26:40I don't know if we'll be able to pull them away from the TVs to get on the court.
00:26:43We got the Xbox set up over here.
00:26:45A couple of video games and all that.
00:26:47You want to jump in and go around?
00:26:49All right.
00:26:50You see that guy running to your right?
00:26:52He's going to be coming in upstairs in that window.
00:26:59You'd think they'd have enough power, right?
00:27:01They're in different places.
00:27:02We just need to talk to someone that knows the building.
00:27:05Hey, has the engineer come over?
00:27:06He's not with us. We don't have a solution yet.
00:27:08And my concern is that we've got athletes.
00:27:10Okay, what do you mean he's talked? Has he come in here?
00:27:12Well, they're trying to figure out where to draw power from.
00:27:14We spent an incredible amount of money to do this, so we need to make sure there's power.
00:27:16We understand. What can we do to help you?
00:27:18Get power.
00:27:20I think what I need you to do is have somebody on your team manage this problem for me.
00:27:24Okay. The best thing I can do right now is to contact the engineer.
00:27:28If you think there's something further I need to do besides getting buildings set up,
00:27:31what I need you to do is just make the problem go away.
00:27:35I can put Vicky in charge of overseeing that.
00:27:37I don't want somebody to come talk to me. I want you to fix the problem.
00:27:40We were short-circuiting our energy supply.
00:27:42We had 10 plasma TVs going, about 10 Xboxes that were being played,
00:27:47so we needed an adequate energy supply.
00:27:49The Xbox Live, Neon Science, they were part of that.
00:27:52They're in the storage room?
00:27:53Right, but we've got no power to run those.
00:27:54Okay. I understand that your focus is power. I want to get that for you.
00:27:58I understand that.
00:27:59If you let me focus on that, I'll make it happen.
00:28:01Great.
00:28:02But if we sit here and argue, I can't make it happen.
00:28:03I'm not arguing. I'm just saying we need to take care of the things you committed to.
00:28:16Do you have anything that would affect you?
00:28:17Don't count on it.
00:28:18The truck's on the way, but we can't count on it, dude.
00:28:21Big-ticket items for me were we had to make sure the paint was on the field for Genworth and WISC.
00:28:26That was something that should have occurred the day before, but couldn't because it was raining.
00:28:29It's been so sunny and nice that the ground will have dried out.
00:28:32That was a huge weight off my shoulders.
00:28:33Excuse me.
00:28:34Yes.
00:28:35I was told to come in here and tell you about the paint.
00:28:39I heard Chris Brandt, the proprietor of the polo club, really needs to see me on the field right now.
00:28:44And I'm like, what's going on?
00:28:47Yes, sir.
00:28:48This has to be spray-painted green over it.
00:28:51Nobody ever told us about it.
00:28:52Okay.
00:28:53You can't put colored things where the horses are heading.
00:28:55Chris Brandt says there's no way that this logo can be here.
00:28:58This will scare the horses, and it's right in the goal.
00:29:01There's one at each end of the field.
00:29:02If the horses are heading in this direction, you can't have them heading in.
00:29:04It's a big problem.
00:29:08Okay, I got to go call the WISC people and see what the deal is with this.
00:29:11Okay.
00:29:12I'm looking at my watch.
00:29:13I'm like, oh, great.
00:29:14You know, it's four and a half hours until people start arriving.
00:29:16One of our major sponsors is not going to be able to have its signage on the field.
00:29:21It's contractually obligated to have.
00:29:23If WISC isn't satisfied with what occurs, it's about a quarter of a million dollar sponsorship that's at stake.
00:29:40Hi, we're having major problems in the player's lounge.
00:29:43We need the building engineer to come down here ASAP.
00:29:46You know, you guys are in charge of the facility, and we are having serious problems with this electricity.
00:29:52I need somebody to address this, to come here and deal with it.
00:29:55Sounds like we're going to need to rent a generator.
00:29:57Do you guys have a generator rental place?
00:29:59Sure, we can work that.
00:30:00Okay.
00:30:01I got the building engineer to come over and actually see how the problem was going.
00:30:05So I made sure that they had a generator.
00:30:07The engineer's on his way.
00:30:08I wanted to make sure that Xbox was happy.
00:30:12Power just went on, so.
00:30:13It's on.
00:30:14Okay.
00:30:15Do you guys feel okay about things?
00:30:16We're on generator now, which is where we wanted to be yesterday, but we're fine now.
00:30:19Okay, thanks for fixing the problem.
00:30:20No problem.
00:30:22And your tables are all set.
00:30:24Nice shot.
00:30:34Hey, Stu, it's Kelly Perdue over at the Polo Club.
00:30:36Hey, Kelly, how are you?
00:30:37I'm actually just hit a big snag with the painting of the WISC logos on the field.
00:30:43They were halfway through the W, had everything plotted out, were painting,
00:30:46and the club manager came on and said they're not going to let it be on the field
00:30:51because the horses are going to view that as like an obstacle or something.
00:30:54They're going to pull away from it, and it's really going to distract them.
00:30:57WISC basically left it up to me to pick the next best spot where they would get coverage.
00:31:02I've got to step in, make a decision, go one way or the other,
00:31:04and I'm going to suffer the consequences if it's bad or hopefully do well if it's good.
00:31:08I will talk to the painters immediately about where the next best place to put it is.
00:31:12Bye.
00:31:17You want it where? You want one of them, two of them?
00:31:20If only one this side or two both sides.
00:31:22It would be, let's say, starting from the end from here to the left.
00:31:29So we could put like a WISC thing right here.
00:31:36We're going to put the WISC logos by the grandstands.
00:31:38Okay.
00:31:39So start to W like five feet off, five feet off each direction.
00:31:47I was happy when they all went back to work after that near explosion,
00:31:51and I think, you know, based on what those logos look like over there on the WISC sign,
00:31:55that they're going to be happy with them and hopefully there was like no harm, no foul here.
00:32:07Hi, very nice to meet you.
00:32:09My pleasure. Thanks for what you're doing here.
00:32:12Oh, yes, we're excited to do it. It's a great cause,
00:32:14and we obviously love working with the NBA, so it's been fabulous.
00:32:17The master of ceremonies was supposed to be Chris Webber, who was a player for the NBA.
00:32:20Unfortunately, Chris Webber canceled.
00:32:22What ended up happening was I chose the NBA commissioner, David Stern, to serve in that role.
00:32:27I'm here. Just tell me what to do.
00:32:30Mr. Trump arrived at the game. He came by helicopter.
00:32:33As the PM, obviously it's Jennifer's responsibility to greet Mr. Trump right out of the gate.
00:32:37If you're the PM, Mr. Trump shows up on his helicopter.
00:32:40As soon as he walks in there, you better make sure that your ass is immediately up to him,
00:32:45greeting him, saying hello to him.
00:32:47You better make sure that your ass is up to him, saying hello to him.
00:32:50You better make sure that your ass is up to him, saying hello to him.
00:32:53You better make sure that your ass is up to him.
00:32:55You better make sure that your ass is immediately up to him, greeting him, saying hello with a smile.
00:33:00That's the way, in my opinion, you want to present yourself to a man like Mr. Trump.
00:33:06I'm just going to get everybody pushed through, Vicky.
00:33:08Ready to do that?
00:33:09Yeah, push them through.
00:33:10You got no problem.
00:33:11Push them through.
00:33:12We have an issue because we got ten minutes left.
00:33:13I know. I can do that.
00:33:14I'll just grab about six people at a time.
00:33:16Great, thank you.
00:33:26Has Mr. Trump arrived? We haven't seen him out front.
00:33:28The plane just came down.
00:33:29Oh, good.
00:33:30The chopper came down.
00:33:31Okay, we'll be on the lookout for him.
00:33:32That's it. I will do that.
00:33:37How are you?
00:33:38Welcome.
00:33:39So, how's it going?
00:33:40It's going well. Come on in.
00:33:41Very good.
00:33:42Please come in. George is in here waiting for you.
00:33:44Hi, Mr. Trump. Good to see you.
00:33:46Well, how are you?
00:33:47Good. How are you?
00:33:48Nice seeing you.
00:33:49You too.
00:33:50Bob Lanier.
00:33:51I know Bob. Everybody knows Bob. Good.
00:33:53It's hard to miss him.
00:33:54How's it going? Everything good?
00:33:55It's going pretty well, yeah.
00:33:56It's all pulling together.
00:33:57We have you in center court, if that's acceptable.
00:33:58That's fine.
00:33:59Okay, great.
00:34:00That's very nice. Thank you.
00:34:01I'll leave you to your seat.
00:34:02And your seat is the one here with reserve, don't it?
00:34:03Oh, that's nice. Good.
00:34:04Wow, very efficient.
00:34:05We'll leave you in good hands.
00:34:06Very good.
00:34:07Do you need anything else right now?
00:34:08No, I'm okay.
00:34:09That'll be good.
00:34:10That'll be good.
00:34:11Hey, Donald.
00:34:12Good to see you.
00:34:13Great place.
00:34:14I used to think I was tall.
00:34:17And now, please help me welcome today's athletes.
00:34:22First at an arm and a six-ball from the Miami Heat,
00:34:26Wayne Wade.
00:34:30I wanted to make sure that I was there right when things began
00:34:32to make sure that the game was unfolding okay,
00:34:34but I couldn't enjoy the game.
00:34:35This event was not about me being out there enjoying the game.
00:34:37It was about making sure everything happened as it should,
00:34:40so I tore off to the VIP reception.
00:34:42Ladies and gentlemen, we have an offer of two birds with a bass
00:34:46for today's charity event.
00:34:48Please welcome the commissioner of the NBA, Nick Stern.
00:34:55Thank you very much.
00:34:57It's just my great pleasure to welcome all of you.
00:35:01There's center court.
00:35:02There's Donald Trump watching.
00:35:03There's me.
00:35:04I'm like walking the microphone out to center court,
00:35:06standing in the middle.
00:35:08If I were Jennifer, I would have taken on that responsibility myself.
00:35:11Thank you, commissioner.
00:35:19For the land of the free and the home of the brave.
00:35:38And let's play ball.
00:35:42Let's play ball.
00:35:54The athletes were so phenomenal to watch.
00:35:57The things that they can do with their bodies, it was just incredible.
00:36:00They're 7 feet tall, and they move like jackrabbits.
00:36:03They're so fast.
00:36:04They're so agile and just effortless about what they do.
00:36:07It's fun to watch.
00:36:11Let's play ball.
00:36:14Let's play ball.
00:36:23And apparently there's a sign in the gym that we should be getting.
00:36:26I see that big sign.
00:36:27Yeah, yeah, yeah.
00:36:28A sign in the gym that we should be getting.
00:36:29I was the event director, but I tasked Pamela with running the game.
00:36:33Both of us couldn't be there.
00:36:34I would have loved to have been at the game,
00:36:36but ultimately my head was on the line,
00:36:38and I needed to make sure the rest of the event was flowing smoothly.
00:36:41You say Mike or Bob?
00:36:42I'm going to choose Mike Frazier.
00:36:43She's going to choose Mike Frazier, CEO.
00:36:46Thanks, everyone, for coming.
00:36:47As the event organizer, sometimes you're having to work behind the scenes
00:36:50and get things done,
00:36:51and you're having to allow someone else to step in as more of a visible person.
00:36:56Jen?
00:36:57It's a small box.
00:36:58She'll be able to get it herself.
00:36:59During the event?
00:37:00I will.
00:37:01Pamela?
00:37:02Pamela is in charge.
00:37:03I just need to confirm that Pamela is going to get Mr. Trump
00:37:05and make sure that he's welcome to come over
00:37:07and make sure that he's welcome to the VIP reception.
00:37:09We need you to be sure to extend the invitation to Mr. Trump
00:37:35to come to the VIP reception and walk him over as necessary.
00:37:38Okay.
00:37:39You're the sign.
00:37:40Basketball's over.
00:37:41You're there.
00:37:42All right.
00:37:43Get the sign over.
00:37:44Read the key they're putting up, and then everything's done.
00:37:47Okay.
00:37:48Will you touch base with Pamela
00:37:49and make sure they're inviting Trump and everyone,
00:37:51all the VIPs, to come over?
00:37:53I'm on it.
00:37:56Okay.
00:37:57I'll see you down.
00:37:58Take care.
00:37:59I'll see you.
00:38:00Can you just take them?
00:38:01Actually, why don't you wheel them into the players' lounge
00:38:03where there's security and keep them there?
00:38:05All right.
00:38:08Are you going back to the top?
00:38:10We're going back to the top.
00:38:12Just let me tell you, make sure you invite Mr. Trump and them to the VIP.
00:38:16Does he not know about it?
00:38:24Bye, Fit.
00:38:25Bye.
00:38:26Bye.
00:38:27Bye.
00:38:28Bye.
00:38:29Bye.
00:38:30Bye.
00:38:31Bye.
00:38:32Bye.
00:38:33Bye.
00:38:34Bye.
00:38:35Bye.
00:38:37Bye, y'all.
00:38:39Great.
00:38:48We just finished the basketball game.
00:38:50A little strange.
00:38:51Jennifer and nobody came over to say goodbye to me.
00:38:54In many ways, they did a great job, but in other ways, it was lacking.
00:38:57I can't compare yet.
00:38:59I have to see the ball on that.
00:39:00So let's go see Kelly.
00:39:02Okay, Rich.
00:39:03Let's go.
00:39:06Let's go.
00:39:15Oh, you're kidding me.
00:39:34Go down your window.
00:39:35John, go down to the member's tent and just greet people as they come in,
00:39:39and I'm trying to get a guest list down there.
00:39:41We don't have a guest list.
00:39:42So thank you.
00:39:43Thank you very much.
00:39:44Feel free to get some drinks.
00:39:45Hi, there.
00:39:46How are you?
00:39:47Good.
00:39:48Which company are you with?
00:39:49GenWorth.
00:39:50GenWorth.
00:39:51They also missed what table to rent, so.
00:39:53Yeah, we're not doing that until after the game.
00:39:55I thought that you and Kelly figured out where the tables were going to be,
00:39:59and I could just plop down these signs, and that didn't happen.
00:40:01So I'm trying to work around it.
00:40:03Everybody who's anybody is going to be in this tent tonight.
00:40:07Everybody who is going to make a decision about whether or not this event went well
00:40:11is going to be sitting in this tent.
00:40:13If it doesn't flow correctly, they're going to not be happy.
00:40:16I know what to do.
00:40:18Okay, good.
00:40:23I'm flying over Trump National Golf Club right now in Westchester.
00:40:26I want them to move faster.
00:40:28Tell them to get moving.
00:40:30How many guests you got out there?
00:40:32I have no idea.
00:40:34What's going on over there?
00:40:36It's a little bit of a melee.
00:40:38I'd say.
00:40:39Hand the singer off to John and get over there.
00:40:41I'd say you should run.
00:40:42Yes.
00:40:43Okay.
00:40:47Okay, yeah, go ahead, go ahead.
00:40:55Right now you need two blues, two whites.
00:40:58Yeah, yeah, exactly.
00:40:59And you're going to have the white team sign the white one,
00:41:01the blue team sign the blue one,
00:41:02and then Mariano sign whichever one he is.
00:41:14How's it going?
00:41:15How are they doing?
00:41:16They're so good.
00:41:17Looks pretty smooth, huh?
00:41:18Yeah, looks pretty good.
00:41:19Nice looking crowd.
00:41:20Very good looking crowd.
00:41:22I see a big flurry of activity, you know, between the grandstand
00:41:26and the bright pink tie of Donald Trump, you know, 100 yards away.
00:41:30So I'm like, big gulp.
00:41:32Kelly.
00:41:33Hello, sir.
00:41:34So?
00:41:35Good to see you.
00:41:36Going okay?
00:41:37Looking at my chart one more time to make sure I know where everything,
00:41:39all the moving parts are, and I'm like, here we go.
00:41:41Okay, where are we sitting?
00:41:42First seats, we have box seats.
00:41:44As we're going up the stairs, I start to think to myself,
00:41:46I never really made sure that his box seat was the way it should be.
00:41:50I was just kind of assuming it's a nice box seat.
00:41:52We went up and looked at them once and they all looked about the same to me,
00:41:54so I thought, it'll be all right.
00:41:57Look, the seats are dirty and they're not lined up properly.
00:42:01That's not great.
00:42:02Two of the seats are broken.
00:42:04You wouldn't have it that way.
00:42:05No.
00:42:06No, I would not.
00:42:09Donald Trump is going to judge everything.
00:42:11He's going to make sure that everything is scheduled on time,
00:42:13that there's no flaws and everything is perfect.
00:42:15And if there is an error, that it's taken care of and remedied quickly.
00:42:19Put that one up front.
00:42:21All the details and they didn't take care of his box seat.
00:42:24Just leave it like that.
00:42:25That's fine.
00:42:26Okay.
00:42:27But I'm not sure if that's going to come back to bite me.
00:42:29You go back to your business.
00:42:30That's okay.
00:42:31I'll watch you.
00:42:42First of all, I just want to say welcome today.
00:42:44I hope everyone enjoyed the Genworth Charity Basketball Classic.
00:42:50Everyone, please get up here, bid on these great items.
00:42:53After the game ended, we had a silent auction.
00:42:55You put a starting bid and people come by and sign it,
00:42:57and then whoever the last person to sign it is the winner.
00:43:00We were giving away Knicks tickets, Nets tickets, signed jerseys,
00:43:04basketball signed by both teams.
00:43:06If you're not attracted to any of these items, you can always make a donation.
00:43:12I would put a baby.
00:43:14I wish I had it.
00:43:18The auction didn't go as well as we planned.
00:43:20I think a lot of people here really didn't grasp, you know, the goal.
00:43:24Give me that shoe.
00:43:26Now this is a Big Bob shoe.
00:43:28This is a beautiful shoe.
00:43:30Bob Linnea, the major star in the NBA.
00:43:32He's the main guy in the Read to Achieve charity.
00:43:35$350 for a Big Bob shoe.
00:43:40Fellas.
00:43:41Fellas in the house.
00:43:44Can we do something a little bit better than this?
00:43:47We got $350 right now.
00:43:49Can we go up?
00:43:50Hey, $500.
00:43:51We got $500?
00:43:52Yeah.
00:43:53From who?
00:43:54The team.
00:43:55From the team?
00:43:56Yeah.
00:43:57We need more than $500.
00:43:59$550.
00:44:00That's what I'm talking about.
00:44:02$550.
00:44:03$600.
00:44:04How much?
00:44:05$600.
00:44:06Yeah.
00:44:07Oh, shucks.
00:44:08He turned it around.
00:44:10We're going to put the money together.
00:44:11Five, six.
00:44:12The highest he can go is $650, right?
00:44:14Give me $1,000.
00:44:16Jennifer started a little bit of a frenzy
00:44:18and a little bit of excitement there,
00:44:20and it upped the ante, and it was pretty cool.
00:44:22You know, this is for a great cause.
00:44:24Helping children to read.
00:44:25The reason why we're here is to raise money for the children.
00:44:28Thanks so much.
00:44:29Very generous.
00:44:34Very happy to have with us this afternoon
00:44:37Mr. Buzz Richmond.
00:44:39Very happy to have with us this afternoon
00:44:42Mr. Buzz Richmond,
00:44:44Chief Marketing Officer for Genworth Financial.
00:44:48Buzz will be throwing out the ceremonial ball
00:44:52and kicking off our festivities.
00:44:54Here they go.
00:45:09How dangerous is that?
00:45:10See the way they work those?
00:45:12You get hit with one of them.
00:45:13Forget it.
00:45:14Forget it.
00:45:15You're over.
00:45:16Walton racing it down the right-hand side.
00:45:19It was an amazing sight.
00:45:20It was these huge horses moving really quickly.
00:45:23It's very, very difficult to hit a polo ball.
00:45:26The players were phenomenal.
00:45:28These guys are riding around on horses,
00:45:31cutting left and right,
00:45:33passing the ball to each other
00:45:34and shooting through a pretty narrow goal.
00:45:37I didn't realize what an effort,
00:45:39what an exertion it was to play this sport.
00:45:41Mark the ready.
00:45:43Wise up.
00:45:44Looking good.
00:45:45In the score.
00:45:46Thank you for having us back.
00:45:49It was clear that Mr. Trump was enjoying the polo match.
00:45:52At the end of the match,
00:45:53Mr. Trump's coming down the stands,
00:45:55getting ready to leave.
00:45:56So I'm going to head out
00:45:57and I'll see you tomorrow on the boardwalk.
00:45:59Have a good time.
00:46:00Thank you very much.
00:46:01Congratulations.
00:46:02And I'm just like,
00:46:03Yes, sir.
00:46:04And he walks off.
00:46:08Tony's going to change in the restrooms downstairs.
00:46:17I've been told that they are quite unsanitary.
00:46:20Not a place that Tony should be taken to.
00:46:23I've got so much to do still,
00:46:25it's not even funny.
00:46:26I've still got to manage Tony Bennett
00:46:27and his entourage arriving
00:46:29and make sure they're happy
00:46:30and have everything they want.
00:46:31They can be cleaned up before he gets here
00:46:32in the next 15 minutes
00:46:33or if we find an alternate place at the clubhouse
00:46:35for him to have as like a little room to change.
00:46:38What do you think, Chris?
00:46:39I don't know.
00:46:40I don't have the staff to clean it, per se.
00:46:43Hey, John.
00:46:44Tony Bennett's on his way over there
00:46:45and there's no bathroom because it's so nasty.
00:46:47If a couple people could clean it up,
00:46:48that would be great.
00:46:49So I basically said, you know,
00:46:51best we can do,
00:46:52clean the clubhouse up as much as possible,
00:46:55you know,
00:46:56but make the clubhouse look as nice as possible,
00:46:58you know,
00:46:59and hope for the best.
00:47:02Yeah, we're just having a massive problem
00:47:04because it looks like, you know,
00:47:05six goats threw up in the bathroom
00:47:08and they want them to change it
00:47:10and there was food here with worms and ants in it.
00:47:13It's just bizarre.
00:47:14Tony Bennett's manager was much more in a huff
00:47:17than he needed to be.
00:47:18You know, he understood that we were running around
00:47:21and doing a lot.
00:47:23And that's John.
00:47:24So John's supposed to greet him,
00:47:25but he's up here with the garbage bag right now.
00:47:31It's that bad in here.
00:47:35Got a napkin, John?
00:47:37He's coming up the driveway, guys.
00:47:40John, get up here.
00:47:44Is he here yet?
00:47:45Hey, do you have any cologne in your bag, John?
00:47:47Uh, yes.
00:47:48Spray it in the room. Quick.
00:47:51Tony Bennett.
00:47:54Mr. Bennett.
00:47:55Hello.
00:47:56Welcome.
00:47:57Well, thank you very much.
00:47:58I'm John. Thanks so much for coming.
00:47:59It's nice being here.
00:48:00Raj, very nice to meet you, sir.
00:48:01Thank you very much.
00:48:02Quite an honor, quite an honor.
00:48:03My hand went from scrubbing garbage juice
00:48:04to shaking the hands of an American icon.
00:48:07So, um, anything I can do for you right now, Mr. Bennett?
00:48:11No, nothing.
00:48:15It's a very worthy cause we're out here for tonight,
00:48:17the Alzheimer's Association.
00:48:19A big objective here is to raise awareness,
00:48:21and tonight we're in for a fantastic performance.
00:48:26Tony Bennett is a 13-time Granny winner,
00:48:30and this is his sixth decade performing.
00:48:35Ladies and gentlemen,
00:48:36would you please give a warm welcome to
00:48:38Mr. Tony Bennett!
00:48:56Before it's all aboard
00:48:59Forget it, I want more
00:49:01I want someone who wants more of me
00:49:06Like making promises good in the daylight
00:49:11The thing is, here am I, where is she?
00:49:16When is it my chance?
00:49:19When is it my dance?
00:49:21When do the bells ring for me?
00:49:27He gets up there, and he lets loose.
00:49:29I can tell these people are, you know,
00:49:31just completely jazzed to hear Tony Bennett sing.
00:49:34He's doing spin moves, moving around the stage,
00:49:37pointing at people in the crowd.
00:49:39He had them, you know, clapping along and going.
00:49:41I sat there and watched from kind of behind the stage
00:49:44and looked out at the people, and I'm like, home run.
00:49:48Does that mean I can be angry with you,
00:49:50arguing with you?
00:49:51Oh, of course not.
00:49:53I have no dictator, my dear.
00:50:11Alright team, you guys did an amazing job.
00:50:14We have a lot to be proud of.
00:50:16We're proud of you.
00:50:17Get in your car!
00:50:18Oh my God.
00:50:20I'm going with her.
00:50:22Jen and her group did a good job.
00:50:24I think she was very well organized, and she did it.
00:50:27I was nervous for Jen.
00:50:29I didn't think it would fall into place,
00:50:31but I think she did a spectacular job.
00:50:33You did an amazing job.
00:50:35High five, high five.
00:50:36It was awesome.
00:50:37Congratulations.
00:50:39You're amazing, Chris.
00:50:40You're a workhorse, as always.
00:50:41I have to say, I feel very good right now.
00:50:43There were a lot of times during the task
00:50:45when things were not looking good for us.
00:50:47Ultimately, I pulled it together, and I made it happen.
00:50:50It's good that Mr. Trump realizes what a fighter I am
00:50:52and how much passion I have for becoming the next apprentice.
00:51:07Hi, dude.
00:51:08Thank you guys, seriously.
00:51:10You guys did good.
00:51:11And I really appreciate it.
00:51:13All in all, it was a difficult task.
00:51:15Kelly definitely pulled it off.
00:51:17It was a success.
00:51:18Were there some problems along the way?
00:51:19Sure.
00:51:20And it does happen.
00:51:21It's an event.
00:51:22Things like this happen all the time.
00:51:23You're satisfying, you know, over about 500 people.
00:51:26All right, you guys.
00:51:27See you later.
00:51:28I give a lot of credit to Kelly.
00:51:30Again, he pulled it off.
00:51:32It was a successful day.
00:51:36Rudyard Kipling wrote a poem titled If,
00:51:39and he actually wrote it to his son.
00:51:41And it was about becoming a man,
00:51:43and it talked about keeping your head about you
00:51:45when all of those are losing theirs.
00:51:48I mean, I had an amazing experience.
00:51:49I was stressed out at times.
00:51:50I mean, I just feel really good.
00:51:52It was a great event.
00:52:10I'm about to go into the boardroom for the last time,
00:52:12and it is not lost on me what a huge moment this is.
00:52:15My entire life could change.
00:52:17It truly is the biggest moment of my life.
00:52:22This is it.
00:52:23It's over.
00:52:24I mean, not coming back to the suite.
00:52:26Mr. Trump's going to decide my fate.
00:52:30There's a lot at stake.
00:52:31The opportunity to make a lot of money,
00:52:33meet a lot of influential people,
00:52:34and have some incredible experiences.
00:52:36I think for me, it's really not so much about the money
00:52:39as about the opportunity just to interact with Mr. Trump.
00:52:43The ramifications of today's boardroom
00:52:46are basically life-changing for me.
00:52:49You know, I win this, and I'm on a new path.
00:52:53Basically, the sky is the limit.
00:52:59Mr. Trump, he's going to look at both of us and see,
00:53:01are you willing to fight for what you want?
00:53:03And I understand that.
00:53:04I don't respect Jen.
00:53:05I am not afraid of a verbal sparring match at all.
00:53:13When I look at Kelly,
00:53:14I don't see Kelly becoming Mr. Trump's apprentice.
00:53:17Kelly ultimately doesn't have the drive and ambition,
00:53:19doesn't have what it takes to be the next apprentice.
00:53:22I do.
00:53:27Life's going to change big time,
00:53:29or life's going to change a little bit,
00:53:31but I'm excited to get in there and see what Mr. Trump thinks.
00:53:42Hi, have a seat, please.
00:54:13Hi.
00:54:32Hello.
00:54:33Good afternoon.
00:54:34Mr. Trump.
00:54:35Pamela.
00:54:36Jennifer.
00:54:37What do you think?
00:54:38I think that Jennifer worked to the best of her ability.
00:54:41I think that she tried very hard.
00:54:42She worked very hard.
00:54:43And I think that Jennifer maybe misprioritized
00:54:46where she should spend her time.
00:54:48All the items were taken care of,
00:54:50but I don't think that Jennifer's style
00:54:52is to go above and beyond the call of duty.
00:54:54I don't think that we were an inspired group.
00:54:56I think that we are type A personalities
00:54:58who are workaholics.
00:54:59And, you know, I think net-net,
00:55:02it was congratulations on a job done.
00:55:05Chris, what did you think?
00:55:06This position is for a CEO,
00:55:07and as a CEO, you need to delegate responsibility.
00:55:10Jennifer's very good at delegating responsibility
00:55:12and not being hands-on.
00:55:13If I was in her position trying to win this competition,
00:55:16I would have been more hands-on.
00:55:18Stacey, what do you think?
00:55:19She has tight analytical skills.
00:55:22She is sharp, and she is tough.
00:55:24And you can't pull one over on Jennifer.
00:55:26She will not take crap sitting down.
00:55:29Jennifer, she did a beautiful job.
00:55:32She brought me to the seat.
00:55:33She sat me next to the commissioner.
00:55:35She introduced me to lots of people.
00:55:37And then I never saw her again.
00:55:38That was the end.
00:55:39I expected that Jennifer would have been more of an ambassador
00:55:42to you and to the other VIPs there and to Jen Worth.
00:55:45And when I saw that they were alone,
00:55:47I stepped in and became that liaison for them.
00:55:50So what did you think was better,
00:55:51for her to come, drop me off,
00:55:53do a nice job and then leave,
00:55:55and I don't see her again?
00:55:56And actually all I saw was Pam.
00:55:58I guess the ultimate issue is,
00:55:59do you want someone who's putting in face time
00:56:02or do you want someone who's actually working?
00:56:03I want somebody that's actually working.
00:56:05Well, then you have Jen.
00:56:06Jen's your man.
00:56:07So you're a big fan of Jennifer?
00:56:08I am.
00:56:09I strongly believe that Jennifer deserves to win.
00:56:10John, do you think Kelly worked well with the sponsors?
00:56:14I think the results were very, very good.
00:56:16If you look at the results,
00:56:17I think, I mean, they're saying congratulations on a job done.
00:56:21I would say congratulations on a job well done.
00:56:23How did Kelly deal with the VIPs effectively?
00:56:26I think the biggest miss for Kelly
00:56:29was catering to the VIPs and the client.
00:56:32I mean, I think he did a lot of delegation,
00:56:35a lot of organization,
00:56:36but what needed to be done,
00:56:38and I'm a person that talks a lot about
00:56:40catering to clients and customers,
00:56:42and I think that was the piece that was missed.
00:56:44I heard Elizabeth did a very good job, by the way.
00:56:46She did. She did a very good job.
00:56:47Proud of you, Elizabeth.
00:56:48I was very impressed.
00:56:49I thought you were very, very docile for a while.
00:56:51You know that, right?
00:56:52And I heard you were just the opposite.
00:56:53Well, you know, it's interesting.
00:56:54I heard you did a very, very capable job.
00:56:56Thank you. Thank you.
00:56:57It was about catering to the target,
00:56:58and we were, I mean, these were millionaires,
00:57:00and they had to feel posh.
00:57:01What do you think, Raj?
00:57:03The issue with Kelly is,
00:57:04you know, there are some people who have,
00:57:06for better or for worse, they have something.
00:57:08You know what I mean?
00:57:09They've got some charisma, some chutzpah,
00:57:11something that makes you like him,
00:57:13something you're drawn to.
00:57:14He doesn't have any of that.
00:57:16He's robotic. He can be dictatorial.
00:57:18Raj, you weren't a fan of Kelly, were you?
00:57:20I don't like him.
00:57:22I don't, though.
00:57:24That says it pretty well.
00:57:25No, I mean, I don't hate him.
00:57:26I don't like him.
00:57:27Tough guy.
00:57:28In terms of whether he's a good person for you or not,
00:57:31I think he would be a good person for you.
00:57:33The idea of him being,
00:57:35needing a passionate, inspired leader
00:57:38in your organization
00:57:40may not necessarily be the best thing.
00:57:42If you give Kelly a job...
00:57:43He'll be good. He'll be solid.
00:57:45He'll never disappoint you.
00:57:46Yeah.
00:57:47But he may not send a rocket to the moon.
00:57:49Exactly.
00:57:50Stacey, if you were me, who would you hire?
00:57:52I would hire Jennifer.
00:57:53Chris, if you were me, who would you hire?
00:57:58I would probably take Jennifer.
00:58:01Pamela, who would you hire?
00:58:04That's a really tough one.
00:58:06Pam would say fire both of them.
00:58:07No, no, Pamela.
00:58:08Pamela would fire everybody.
00:58:10Including you, John.
00:58:12So, who would you hire, Raj?
00:58:14I would hire Kelly.
00:58:15I just wouldn't spend too much time with him.
00:58:17Elizabeth, who would you hire?
00:58:19I would hire Kelly.
00:58:20Okay.
00:58:21We're very divided among teams.
00:58:23John, I have no doubt who you're going to say.
00:58:25Well, I never worked with Jen,
00:58:27so I have to say that, first of all.
00:58:29So, take my opinion with a grain of salt.
00:58:31But I've been impressed by Kelly from day one.
00:58:34Okay.
00:58:35Look, we've all been through a lot together.
00:58:37It's been a long period of time,
00:58:39and it's been grueling for us also.
00:58:41But I want to tell you,
00:58:43you were chosen out of over one million job applicants.
00:58:47You're really outstanding people.
00:58:49I congratulate you, and I thank you very much.
00:58:51And this has really been very helpful.
00:59:24Robin, let them in.
00:59:26They're ready to meet with you both.
00:59:29Okay.
00:59:48Hello.
00:59:49Hello, sir.
00:59:50Jennifer, something really bothered me.
00:59:52When I came, you greeted me.
00:59:54Not at the helicopter, but you greeted me a little bit late.
00:59:57You sat me down in a nice, clean chair,
00:59:59unlike Kelly, where it was a dirty chair,
01:00:01where I said, I think I'll stand.
01:00:03But after you sat me down
01:00:05and introduced me to the commissioner,
01:00:07you were gone.
01:00:08I never saw you again.
01:00:09What happened? Where were you?
01:00:10I was there.
01:00:11I was actually over with Jen Wirth.
01:00:13And then I had about five fires that needed to be put out.
01:00:15There was an electrical issue going on.
01:00:17Okay.
01:00:18During the game, I understand.
01:00:19But now I left.
01:00:20Right.
01:00:21I stood there like an idiot.
01:00:22There was nobody.
01:00:23None of your teammates.
01:00:24Not you.
01:00:25That was not good.
01:00:27George, what did you think?
01:00:28There are a few things you have to explain to me
01:00:30that I think are important.
01:00:31Sure.
01:00:32The first people that I would cater to
01:00:35is the sponsor, which was Jen Wirth,
01:00:37and the NBA.
01:00:39You were not face-to-face with either of these two.
01:00:42I would disagree.
01:00:43I was with Jen Wirth the whole time, Mr. Ross.
01:00:44No, no, you were not.
01:00:45I spoke to the people from Jen Wirth.
01:00:47When?
01:00:48Okay.
01:00:49I spoke to them the day of.
01:00:50I'm telling you their perception,
01:00:52and the perception of a major sponsor at that point
01:00:54is that you did not or your team did not hold their hand
01:00:58and make them feel comfortable
01:01:00when they've got the president, chairman coming down.
01:01:02That is very unfortunate.
01:01:03I met with Jen Wirth the very first night.
01:01:06We did an entire walk through the facility.
01:01:07But George is just giving you what happened.
01:01:09His observation, what happened with Jen Wirth.
01:01:11Okay, I hear you, but I don't see how that's possible
01:01:13because I was with Jen Wirth the whole time.
01:01:15So I would beg you to talk to them after the reception
01:01:18so that they could tell you how things unfolded
01:01:20because they unfolded great.
01:01:21One thing that actually your team was saying
01:01:23was that you focused too much on the minor details
01:01:27and not the major details.
01:01:29Well, I had them taking over chunks of responsibilities.
01:01:32I was overseeing everything.
01:01:34We lost our emcee.
01:01:35I mean, there was literally one thing after the other.
01:01:37So I had to put them on things they could focus on.
01:01:40My team didn't have, you know,
01:01:41each individual didn't have the same motivation
01:01:43to go after all of those little details.
01:01:44So I ultimately made sure they were all taken care of.
01:01:47But still in my mind at that point,
01:01:49whether or not you have the ability to step up
01:01:52and take the responsibility
01:01:54for areas that cannot be delegated.
01:01:57And certainly to me,
01:01:58dealing with the parts of the sponsor is a major element.
01:02:01And dealing with the NBA, they were the two.
01:02:04As far as those are concerned,
01:02:05you delegated it to somebody else.
01:02:08Carolyn, how did Kelly do?
01:02:10Well, Kelly had some issues as well.
01:02:12I think my biggest issue
01:02:13was your lack of motivation to the staff.
01:02:16I think in the very beginning,
01:02:17they felt like they were being, that you delegated.
01:02:21You delegated properly.
01:02:22You found the three critical tasks that needed to be done.
01:02:24But here's three people who, you know, they need motivation.
01:02:28They've been fired.
01:02:30They were probably tired.
01:02:31And I think they needed to hear from you,
01:02:33thanks for being with me, work with me,
01:02:36and having them want to work for you,
01:02:39which I think you missed.
01:02:40All three of them said there was a lot of tension.
01:02:42Elizabeth came in on the last day
01:02:46and said, I'm going to take over.
01:02:48Everyone has to listen to me about the charity dinner.
01:02:51And that did not sit well with Raj,
01:02:54as you can imagine, originally.
01:02:55Raj was not a big fan of yours.
01:02:57I understand that.
01:02:58As you probably understand.
01:02:59I understand that.
01:03:00Are you surprised?
01:03:01Not really.
01:03:02Are you a fan of his?
01:03:04After this task, I am.
01:03:05He did an excellent job for me.
01:03:07He worked very hard, and I really appreciated it.
01:03:10Another thing I think you missed
01:03:13was I think you were too much behind the computer.
01:03:16You were still at your laptop,
01:03:1840 minutes into the first arrival.
01:03:21The whole event was going on over there.
01:03:23And that's why I came into the clubhouse,
01:03:25and I said, you know, how are things going?
01:03:26How are things going?
01:03:27Yes.
01:03:28Meaning, what's going on over there?
01:03:29My being behind the computer was because
01:03:31there were so many moving parts to this,
01:03:33there needed to be a central hub for things to occur.
01:03:36I think you should have done that over there
01:03:38because you missed 45 minutes of critical, critical time.
01:03:42I agree.
01:03:43I should have taken the laptop and the printer with me,
01:03:45and I acknowledge that I missed that hit time
01:03:47by about 40 minutes.
01:03:49Okay.
01:03:50Kelly, do you think Jennifer is a good leader?
01:03:52I have not seen her lead.
01:03:54I can't speak directly to her leadership ability.
01:03:56We worked together one time.
01:03:57Do you think Kelly is a good leader?
01:03:58I question Kelly's integrity.
01:04:00I question Kelly's integrity.
01:04:01I think he is willing to compromise his integrity.
01:04:03Jen, you absolutely straightforward lie.
01:04:05I want to explain why I'm saying that,
01:04:07which is I was in the suite multiple times
01:04:09when Kelly would be whispering about me.
01:04:11I would go face-to-face and ask him point-blank,
01:04:13is this what you were saying?
01:04:14Is this what you mean?
01:04:15Can you at least tell it to me, to my face?
01:04:17Be a man, Kelly.
01:04:18And Kelly would say, oh, no, I didn't just say that,
01:04:20or I didn't do that, over and over and over again.
01:04:23This is what's happening when you're running around the suite
01:04:26eavesdropping on people.
01:04:27I don't run.
01:04:28Yes, you do.
01:04:29The walls come up this high, Kelly.
01:04:31I can hear.
01:04:32I have ears.
01:04:33And frequently, they ask me about you.
01:04:35If you're not in the boardroom, Kelly,
01:04:37why are they coming to you?
01:04:38Why are they coming to you for advice
01:04:39if you're not in the boardroom?
01:04:40I just explained why.
01:04:41Kelly is manipulative, and he's doing it right now.
01:04:43Okay, Jennifer, why should I hire you?
01:04:47I think you should absolutely hire me.
01:04:49I have the passion and the drive.
01:04:51I stayed up for almost two nights straight,
01:04:53three days straight, excuse me,
01:04:55and I had employees that I inspired,
01:04:57even though I had previously fired them.
01:04:59I have the passion.
01:05:00I have what it takes.
01:05:02I don't think Kelly does.
01:05:04Kelly, why should I hire you?
01:05:06Because I've stepped up
01:05:07and delivered every single time.
01:05:09I seek the leadership positions.
01:05:11I don't shirk them.
01:05:12I think I am the strongest
01:05:13and most motivated person out of the two of us,
01:05:15and I'm going to have what it takes
01:05:17to run one of your companies.
01:05:18I want to leave.
01:05:19My background and experience are perfect.
01:05:22I have a very good attention to detail
01:05:24while, at the same time,
01:05:25the ability to see the big picture,
01:05:27and that's, I believe,
01:05:28what you need for someone
01:05:29running one of your companies.
01:05:31Okay.
01:05:32I would like to congratulate both of you.
01:05:34Win, lose, or draw,
01:05:35the fact is,
01:05:36over a million people applied for this position,
01:05:39and, you know,
01:05:40you two are the last standing,
01:05:42so I congratulate you.
01:05:43You're both very, very capable.
01:05:45You're very, very good.
01:05:46You're very, very strong and tough.
01:05:48If you would, please leave the room.
01:05:50I want to talk to George and Carolyn.
01:06:02George, what did you think?
01:06:15Well, I saw Kelly in action,
01:06:17and to me, he's just too wooden.
01:06:19He's too stiff.
01:06:20I don't see the fire.
01:06:22I see a lot of fire in Jen.
01:06:24She's abrasive as hell,
01:06:25but I think that can be polished off.
01:06:27But you didn't see very much of Kelly, did you?
01:06:29I didn't see Kelly on the task,
01:06:30but this one,
01:06:31but I did see him on the other ones,
01:06:33and just the way he handled himself in the boardroom.
01:06:35I just don't see the drive, the fire.
01:06:37And your feeling of Jen?
01:06:38I feel like she's got the fire there.
01:06:40She's got a lot of work to be done.
01:06:41I think she's very abrasive,
01:06:43but I think she could turn out to be very,
01:06:45very, really competent,
01:06:47really a good addition to the Trump organization.
01:06:50Carolyn, how do you feel?
01:06:51Well, I watched Kelly on the task with the polo match,
01:06:54and I think he certainly made some mistakes.
01:06:56I think he could have motivated his team a little better.
01:06:59However, looking at history, as George has said,
01:07:02I think of the two,
01:07:04I think Kelly has stood up more than Jen,
01:07:07and I think he has displayed leadership qualities,
01:07:10so I would have to go with Kelly.
01:07:11A better leader, you would say, than Jen?
01:07:13Without a doubt, a better leader.
01:07:14But unlike George, you didn't see too much of Jen, right?
01:07:16I did not see Jen on the last task.
01:07:19You feel strong?
01:07:20I feel strongly.
01:07:21Strongly or okay?
01:07:22I feel strongly.
01:07:24Well, I want your opinion.
01:07:27What do you think, right now?
01:07:57Okay, okay.
01:08:08Who really thinks that Jennifer should be The Apprentice?
01:08:20That's not bad, but I'm not sure it's great.
01:08:22Who thinks Kelly should be The Apprentice?
01:08:45You know, you...
01:08:46What?
01:08:47What?
01:08:52Last year, I had Bill and Kwame,
01:08:56and they were both exceptional,
01:08:58but I actually thought long before
01:09:00that I was going to be choosing Bill,
01:09:02and by the way, he was terrific.
01:09:04This year, at this moment, I have absolutely...
01:09:08I just don't know.
01:09:09I don't know what it's going to be.
01:09:10I will tell you, I don't know what it's going to be.
01:09:13So, what I'm going to do, if this is okay,
01:09:16it's a little bit of a switch,
01:09:18but I have a friend named Regis Philbin.
01:09:20I'm going to ask him if he could come out now
01:09:22instead of later.
01:09:23He was going to do the last hour with us,
01:09:25but he's around here someplace,
01:09:27and if we can find Regis,
01:09:29I'm going to ask Regis to go down into the audience
01:09:32and interview some people I really respect.
01:09:35Regis, come on over here, Regis.
01:09:38Where's my man, Regis?
01:09:40Regis!
01:09:41Hi, Colin.
01:09:42Hi, George.
01:09:44Thank you very much.
01:09:47What a show, what a crowd, huh?
01:09:50Unbelievable.
01:09:51Unbelievable, Regis.
01:09:55Thank you very much.
01:09:57All right.
01:09:58Regis, this is a tough one,
01:10:00and I really, if you could,
01:10:02and this wasn't in the whole deal,
01:10:04but if you could, I'd like you to go down
01:10:06and maybe interview Bill Rancic.
01:10:08Rancic right now? Sure, okay.
01:10:13There he is.
01:10:16Yeah, Bill, you've been through this drill.
01:10:18How you doing, buddy?
01:10:19Nice to see you.
01:10:20Well, why don't you tell Donald who you would pick and why?
01:10:22Well, I think, first of all,
01:10:23I think they're both winners.
01:10:24Just to make it to the finals,
01:10:25I think, is an accomplishment in itself,
01:10:27and I think people would agree with me here today.
01:10:29But I think Kelly is a guy who really stepped up.
01:10:31For one, I think he took accountability for his actions,
01:10:34and although he made mistakes, he owned up to it.
01:10:36He said, you know what, I made a mistake,
01:10:37and he was willing to fix it.
01:10:39And I think, secondly, he was able to deliver results.
01:10:41And at the end of the day,
01:10:42I think you're looking for someone
01:10:43who can give you results
01:10:44and can really execute a plan,
01:10:46and Kelly was able to do that effectively, I think.
01:10:48Well, thank you, Bill.
01:10:50Hey, Bill.
01:10:51Hey, Bill.
01:10:54Did you enjoy being the apprentice,
01:10:56and did you learn something from Trump?
01:10:58I certainly did.
01:10:59I certainly did.
01:11:00I really had an amazing, amazing experience,
01:11:02and still I'm having an amazing experience with you
01:11:04and many of your staff.
01:11:05I mean, great people that work for you.
01:11:07And I've really seen a soft...
01:11:08You were great, Bill.
01:11:09Sit down, Bill.
01:11:10That's enough, Bill.
01:11:11Sit down.
01:11:12Okay.
01:11:13Alan Weisselberg, my chief financial officer.
01:11:15Sure.
01:11:16Come on up, Alan.
01:11:17How are you?
01:11:18He was on one of the episodes.
01:11:19Alan, how do you feel?
01:11:23You know Donald as well as anybody?
01:11:25For a long time.
01:11:26We've been together many years.
01:11:27Donald, leadership, setting objectives,
01:11:30reaching objectives,
01:11:32ultimately winning at the end,
01:11:34those are skills and attributes
01:11:36that a true apprentice should have
01:11:38as somebody who works for our company.
01:11:40In my honest opinion,
01:11:41I believe that Kelly has reached all those goals
01:11:44and therefore should be the next Trump apprentice.
01:11:49Thank you, Alan.
01:11:53Thank you, Alan.
01:11:54I appreciate it very much.
01:11:56Alan Jope.
01:11:57Now, Alan is the head of Unilever,
01:11:59a great company, a big company,
01:12:01and I appreciate everything you've done for The Apprentice.
01:12:04How do you feel, Alan?
01:12:05You know, Donald,
01:12:06you've got two outstanding candidates to choose from here.
01:12:09But I believe there's one person
01:12:11who has demonstrated consistent leadership,
01:12:14outstanding delivery,
01:12:16and has a background that shows
01:12:18they can deliver in a variety of situations.
01:12:20I also think this person happens to be
01:12:22a heck of a good human being,
01:12:23and in these days I think that still counts for something.
01:12:26So I think as a person,
01:12:27you should give a chance to step up
01:12:29in your organization,
01:12:31say, I am the king,
01:12:33and give them the chance to run their own show
01:12:35and show they can do it for real.
01:12:36And that person in my mind is Kelly.
01:12:42Thank you, Alan.
01:12:45Alan, I'll tell you,
01:12:46you've done a great job with your company,
01:12:48and that means a lot to me,
01:12:49and I appreciate it.
01:12:50And another man who's done a great job for me
01:12:52is Matthew Calamari,
01:12:53my chief operating officer.
01:12:54Matthew.
01:12:55Oh, I agree.
01:12:58Donald, you know I don't care for Jen very much.
01:13:01Got to be honest with you.
01:13:05Because...
01:13:07Wow.
01:13:08Because...
01:13:11Well, I'm not doing too good, have you?
01:13:13Why are you looking at me?
01:13:14I don't know.
01:13:15The reason...
01:13:16You're doing great, Matt.
01:13:17Who do you like?
01:13:18Who do you like of the two?
01:13:19Who do you like of the two, Matt?
01:13:20Which one?
01:13:21I like Kelly.
01:13:22I think that...
01:13:24Wow.
01:13:25Okay.
01:13:27Donald, what he's trying to say is he likes Kelly.
01:13:29Hey, Regis.
01:13:30People think this stuff is easy, right, Regis?
01:13:33It's not so easy.
01:13:34No, it isn't.
01:13:35Who else would you like to?
01:13:36Michael Frazier.
01:13:37A friend of mine and the head of Genworth.
01:13:39Terrific company.
01:13:40Michael.
01:13:41How you doing?
01:13:42Good.
01:13:43Why don't you tell Donald who you like and why?
01:13:45Well, Donald, we've known each other for a while,
01:13:48and these are two great people,
01:13:49and certainly there were two great events that were good for the charities.
01:13:52Alzheimer's, as well as Read to Achieve.
01:13:55But business is all about setting a direction, leadership, and executing.
01:14:00And Kelly showed broad leadership,
01:14:02and he was a more disciplined executor.
01:14:04Jen worked hard, and the team worked hard.
01:14:07They were just disorganized.
01:14:09Kelly would be a great addition to the Trump Organization.
01:14:12Thank you very much.
01:14:13Thank you, Michael.
01:14:14Thank you very much.
01:14:19Regis, from our first season,
01:14:21somebody that everybody loved and which is universally loved,
01:14:24Troy McClain.
01:14:25Where's Troy?
01:14:26There he is, right over here.
01:14:27Hey, Troy.
01:14:28How you doing, buddy?
01:14:32Well, Mr. Trump.
01:14:33Before you start, this is the country bumpkin
01:14:35that was smarter than the city slickers, right?
01:14:38That's what they say, anyways.
01:14:40Mr. Trump, as you know, for years I've been chasing you.
01:14:43My senior yearbook quote,
01:14:44I've been admiring you for a long time.
01:14:46And as I watch these two candidates,
01:14:48I really think that Kelly has the guts and the instincts to go forward,
01:14:52and that's something that can't be taught.
01:14:54That's just something that you have.
01:14:55And he's got that self-discipline, too.
01:14:57So I think he's your next apprentice.
01:14:59All right, thank you very much, Troy.
01:15:02Regis, a woman who won more on The Apprentice
01:15:11than anybody we've had so far.
01:15:13She's very beautiful also, right, Amy?
01:15:15And everyone thought I was going to pick you
01:15:17because you're beautiful, Amy, but it didn't happen.
01:15:19Well, you've got a beautiful one sitting across from you today.
01:15:22You know, I, of course, wanted to see a woman win this season,
01:15:25and I had my money on Jen from the get-go.
01:15:28But I really found, as the tasks progressed,
01:15:30I found her to be a little bit confrontational,
01:15:33afraid to step up and take a leadership responsibility.
01:15:36And overall, I think Kelly's got what it takes.
01:15:39Actions speak louder than words.
01:15:41I think he really showed he has a strong leader,
01:15:44strong project manager.
01:15:45I think his military background is a perfect fit for your organization.
01:15:48He knows when to speak up and lead.
01:15:50He knows when to shut up and listen.
01:15:52And most importantly, he knows what it means to hail to the chief,
01:15:55and that's important.
01:15:57Thank you, Amy.
01:15:58Thank you very much.
01:16:03Well, very interesting, isn't it?
01:16:05Yeah, well, now listen, any time you apply for a job,
01:16:07you need good references, right?
01:16:09Well, here in the audience is Kelly's former boss,
01:16:11or rather his former commanding officer,
01:16:14retired Lieutenant Colonel Andrew Hergenrother.
01:16:17First, I'd like to thank you, Colonel,
01:16:19and everybody in the military who have done so much for us in this country.
01:16:23We really appreciate it.
01:16:26Well, now, the colonel was the one who handpicked Kelly to be his assistant
01:16:31back when Kelly was just a scrub.
01:16:33So tell Donald why Kelly should get the job.
01:16:36Regis, I'd be happy to.
01:16:37Mr. Trump, in my mind, Kelly has shown week after week after week that he's your man.
01:16:43So then I thought, well, what separates him from his peers?
01:16:47And in my mind, it comes down to the values that he learned from his home,
01:16:51his mom and dad are here, and the values he learned from them,
01:16:54the values that were honed while serving for his country in the military,
01:16:57and those same values that have made him a success on his own
01:17:01prior to coming on The Apprentice.
01:17:03He can take your vision, Mr. Trump, and turn it into an action, into success.
01:17:08And in my mind, I was proud to have led Kelly those years ago,
01:17:12but I would be equally as proud to be led by Kelly.
01:17:15And you'd be remiss not to hire him.
01:17:18Colonel, what kind of a leader would you say Kelly was?
01:17:23Would you put him at the top of the group or somewhere in the middle?
01:17:26At the very top.
01:17:27At the very top.
01:17:28Unquestionably.
01:17:29Thank you very much.
01:17:30Happy.
01:17:31Very much appreciated.
01:17:33Well, you know, people actually throw parties to watch The Apprentice every week.
01:17:38Out in San Diego, some of Kelly's former West Point classmates
01:17:41and a bunch of others are partying right now at Trophy's Bar and Grill.
01:17:45There they are.
01:17:46They gather there every Thursday night to cheer him on.
01:17:49Yeah, let's hear it, San Diego.
01:17:51Having a good time out there.
01:17:58Well, seated right next to the colonel, here's Jennifer M.'s current boss, John Carroll.
01:18:03He runs the American operations of one of the world's biggest law firms, Clifford Chance.
01:18:08So, John, I guess you're rooting for Jennifer to win it here, right?
01:18:12Absolutely, Regis.
01:18:13Mr. Trump, you've had the opportunity to learn about Jennifer what we've known about her all along.
01:18:19She's smart.
01:18:20She's tough.
01:18:21She's business savvy.
01:18:22But boss to boss, I'll tell you, you'd be making a mistake if you didn't hire her.
01:18:26We'd hate to lose her, but you'd be so happy if you grabbed her.
01:18:30Well, thank you very much.
01:18:31So you really...
01:18:36You really rate Jennifer right at the top of the pack, huh?
01:18:39Absolutely, and I know.
01:18:41I've had the opportunity to work with her, and she's terrific.
01:18:44So you would love me not to choose her so she goes back to your law firm?
01:18:48We'd love to keep her.
01:18:49You may not, because she's a star no matter what happens.
01:18:51You know that, John.
01:18:52I understand that, but we desperately miss her.
01:18:54Okay, thank you very much.
01:18:55Thanks very much, Mr. Carroll.
01:18:57Well, I guess he's not the only fan back at the law firm.
01:19:00Every Thursday, they, too, have a big party over at their global headquarters here in New York, and here they are.
01:19:06Oh, boy.
01:19:19Reg, let's open up the floor, if we might, to the audience.
01:19:22Sure.
01:19:23Who would like to get up and tell us how they feel about...
01:19:25Oh, here he is right here.
01:19:26Yes, sir.
01:19:27What is your name?
01:19:28My name is Josh.
01:19:29Why don't you tell Donald how you feel about this?
01:19:31Well, Mr. Trump, all season long, Kelly has demonstrated outstanding leadership qualities that separate him from the competition.
01:19:36He's innovative, he's inspirational, and he has vision.
01:19:38So for me, the choice is clear, and Regis, he's my final answer, and I hope he's your final answer tonight, Mr. Trump.
01:19:44Thank you very much.
01:19:45Thank you very much.
01:19:47Anybody else?
01:19:48Yeah.
01:19:49And what is your name?
01:19:50Hi, Regis.
01:19:51My name's Lisa.
01:19:52I'm rooting for Kelly.
01:19:53I think they're both well-educated, highly motivated individuals.
01:19:57But more than that, Kelly has a law degree and an MBA.
01:20:00And additionally, he has practical work experience.
01:20:03I've worked both on the service end and in a company.
01:20:06You cannot gain that experience on the service side by working for companies more so than by actually working in a company or leading your own company.
01:20:14If I were in your position, Mr. Trump, hands down, I would hire Kelly in a second.
01:20:18Thank you very much.
01:20:20Want one more, Donald?
01:20:21Go ahead, Reg.
01:20:22Anybody else?
01:20:23Here, we'll take one more.
01:20:24Yes.
01:20:25Hi, who are you?
01:20:26I'm Karen.
01:20:27I like Jen.
01:20:28I feel like the lone crusader here.
01:20:30I think the audience is missing it.
01:20:32Jen has this quiet power that is very influential.
01:20:36And don't underestimate it.
01:20:38She motivated people who didn't like her.
01:20:40And I think that's quite an important attribute in a leader.
01:20:46Thank you very much.
01:20:48Well, Donald, very interesting, isn't it?
01:20:52It is very interesting indeed.
01:20:54We were going to bring out the other 16 contestants for a reunion later on in the show.
01:20:59But to help out the Donald right now, let's bring them out after this break.
01:21:02And then we'll be right back in just a moment, okay?
01:21:25Hello again, everybody, and welcome back to the live finale of The Apprentice.
01:21:39Listen, we were going to talk to the other 16 contestants a little later in the show,
01:21:43but Donald Trump is still trying to make up his mind.
01:21:45So we're bringing them out right now, the whole crew of them, all 16.
01:21:49Let's give them a big hand, everybody.
01:22:02Why don't we get started with Ivana?
01:22:04Clearly, you and Jennifer M. didn't get along at all, Ivana.
01:22:07Does that mean you're for Kelly?
01:22:10I just got to be honest.
01:22:12I think Kelly deserves to win.
01:22:14I think he would be a great apprentice.
01:22:15And I think he's proven himself inside and outside of the boardroom.
01:22:18But, Ivana, in all fairness, you hated Jennifer.
01:22:21You two were at it.
01:22:23Hate is a strong word.
01:22:24I think she's also very qualified.
01:22:25Well, you came pretty close to hating, right?
01:22:27I think she's a very qualified candidate.
01:22:29But I would choose Kelly.
01:22:30All right.
01:22:31Wes, where is Wes?
01:22:33What do you think?
01:22:35I think that Jen is someone that I would hire all day long to work with me or for me.
01:22:43And Kelly is someone that I would hire to run one of my companies.
01:22:48Bottom line.
01:22:49What does that mean?
01:22:50Who are you with?
01:22:52I would be rooting for Kelly.
01:22:53Really?
01:22:54If I were you.
01:22:55And I thought you didn't like Kelly, right?
01:22:56Well, I didn't say that.
01:22:57I don't dislike Kelly.
01:22:58But you went after him pretty hard.
01:23:00I did.
01:23:01I kicked him off my team.
01:23:02That's true.
01:23:03But you respect him.
01:23:05Despite that, you respect him.
01:23:06I respect Kelly.
01:23:07All right.
01:23:08Andy, where's my man?
01:23:09From Harvard.
01:23:10Great debating champion.
01:23:11Got killed by the women.
01:23:12Got killed.
01:23:17National debating champion.
01:23:18Two women.
01:23:19They just ate you up, right?
01:23:21You've recovered.
01:23:22I have.
01:23:23What do you think?
01:23:24Well, I like Raj, but considering he's not in the running.
01:23:29A lot of the women like Raj, too.
01:23:31He's the bro.
01:23:32Between Jen and Kelly, they're both good people.
01:23:36You've got a great choice to make there.
01:23:38But I'd have to give the edge to Jen because she's intelligent, but she's very passionate.
01:23:42And I respect that.
01:23:45Okay.
01:23:46Okay.
01:23:47So, Chris, my man.
01:23:50My real estate.
01:23:51Come on.
01:23:52How are we doing?
01:23:53Doing very well, thank you.
01:23:54How do you feel?
01:23:55Very well, thank you.
01:23:56How do you feel?
01:23:57I'm not talking about your health.
01:23:58I'm talking who do you like?
01:23:59How do I feel?
01:24:00See, do you believe this guy?
01:24:01But he's good.
01:24:02Go ahead.
01:24:03He's going to be very successful.
01:24:04Can you believe that?
01:24:05I'm already successful.
01:24:08Go ahead.
01:24:09Who do you like?
01:24:10You know, it's a tough decision because they're both intelligent.
01:24:12But, unfortunately, when it comes to being a CEO, the experience I would have to give to Kelly just because he's been there.
01:24:18Okay.
01:24:19Kelly's doing pretty well, isn't he?
01:24:21Can I say something real fast?
01:24:22You can.
01:24:23You know, we're sitting backstage and we're watching this.
01:24:26And, you know, I've got to say I don't want it to get lost that Jen M. is one of two people that made it out of a million.
01:24:33And I kind of feel like I'm impressed that she didn't get up and walk off earlier with kind of what was going on.
01:24:38I mean, she's a phenomenal girl.
01:24:39She's a personal friend of mine.
01:24:40She's had a hard time.
01:24:41And she's getting thrown under the bus here.
01:24:43She doesn't deserve it.
01:24:44She's a great lady.
01:24:45She performed well.
01:24:46Kelly's awesome.
01:24:49I agree with that.
01:24:51Kevin and Sandy.
01:24:52Kevin and Sandy.
01:24:53You'll maybe go together, but you were in the quarterfinals.
01:24:55You did fantastically well.
01:24:58A lot of people thought you two might be here tonight.
01:25:00And you are here tonight, but not the way you wanted to be, right?
01:25:03How do you feel?
01:25:05You know, honestly, Mr. Trump, I hope that you look at this competition as a whole.
01:25:08Kelly had the opportunity to lead three times, and he led his team to victory all three times.
01:25:13Jen only took leadership responsibility once, besides this last task.
01:25:16And I'd hope that you want to hire a leader.
01:25:18So, Kelly's got my vote.
01:25:20Kevin?
01:25:21Yeah, you know, I don't envy your position.
01:25:22I think that both of them are very...
01:25:24Tough.
01:25:25Yeah, they're both very qualified people.
01:25:26But, you know, I think you want a winner.
01:25:28And if you look at the records and the performance over the course of the task,
01:25:31you know, Kelly's, what, 10 and 4, and Jen is 6 and 8.
01:25:34And I think the records speak for themselves.
01:25:36I give the nod to Kelly.
01:25:37Okay.
01:25:38Very good.
01:25:39Pamela?
01:25:40Definitely a tough call.
01:25:41Both incredibly bright people.
01:25:43But, like I mentioned to you before, I think, personally, I like to hire people that I trust in their business ethics.
01:25:49And I think Jennifer has performed not only exceptionally well from an execution standpoint,
01:25:54but her business ethics and the way that she executes as far as sophistication of thought and compassion for other people,
01:26:03I think, goes above and beyond.
01:26:05And I'm a big Jennifer fan.
01:26:06Okay.
01:26:07Thank you very much.
01:26:09Well, a lot of opinions there, huh?
01:26:12A lot of opinions.
01:26:13I hope it helps.
01:26:14Well, we'll take a quick break.
01:26:15And when we come back, the Donald makes his decision and ends this debate once and for all.
01:26:20And speaking of debates, who can forget this one?
01:26:23So you guys aligned this morning.
01:26:24This is not true.
01:26:25This was for about one minute, and I said...
01:26:27That's right.
01:26:28We didn't have that conversation.
01:26:29I said...
01:26:30This is true.
01:26:31So if you wanted to be honest with Jen, why didn't you come to me and tell me what your decision was?
01:26:33Because I wanted to tell Jen that she was stronger.
01:26:34So she can come in here and back you up, Andy?
01:26:35That's why you're next in line.
01:26:36Are you scared?
01:26:37Do you want me to come in here and sit on your own two feet?
