00:00:20This time, the stakes for project manager were even higher.
00:00:24If your team wins and you find yourself in the boardroom the following week, your project manager is exempt.

00:00:41The teams were instructed to give up one member who would become the project manager for the other side.

00:08:58Welcome to the second week of your 15-week job interview.
00:09:03Behind me, I plan to open the finest ice cream parlor anywhere.
00:09:09And needless to say, it's called, it's going to be a surprise, Trump's Ice Cream Parlor.
00:09:17The ice cream business is a $20 billion a year industry.
00:09:22And I want a piece of it.
00:09:23This week, you're going to be working with the Ciao Bella Gelato Company.
00:09:28They make ice cream.
00:09:30They make great ice cream.
00:09:32You have to develop your own flavor.
00:09:34And then you have to go out and sell it.
00:09:38George and Carolyn will be spending a lot of time with you.
00:09:42They're going to be my eyes.
00:09:43They're going to be my ears.
00:09:45They're terrific.

00:09:47They're smart.
00:09:48You're not going to fool them.
00:09:49The team that makes the most money wins.

00:12:16and there had to be a flavor selection team.
00:12:18So I decided that we were going to split up the group.
00:12:21I want to leave you in charge of what's going on here while I'm gone.

00:12:41Well, let's brainstorm about what we think are some of the key factors in this.

00:12:51The goal is to maximize sales.
00:12:54Sales is comprised of price and quantity.
00:12:57The drivers for price are going to be our product,
00:13:00and the drivers for our quantity are going to be distribution and promotion.

00:13:05Ivana starts engaging in this analysis and these equations and models and assumptions.
00:13:11I feel like that's probably a good framework for maximizing our sales.

00:13:15When what we really needed was one big simple idea.
00:13:19We've seen an evolving of a natural leader,
00:13:22and so I would like to nominate Ivana to do that.
00:13:26I think she's certainly more than qualified.
00:13:29How do you feel about that?
00:13:30I feel fine about it, and actually, I would probably be more collaborative.
00:13:34So it would be sort of a co-effort.
00:13:36On the last task, Brad was project manager, and he ruled as a bully.
00:13:40So I didn't want to create that atmosphere at all.
00:13:42And so from the get-go, I wanted to set the tone as,
00:13:44look, I'm actually going to listen to everyone's input,
00:13:47try to incorporate it into whatever we're doing.
00:13:49We should get a list of their ingredients, because their ingredients might trigger.
00:13:52We're like, wow, let's mix this with this, with this.

00:14:11it may be too much of the velvet glove and not enough iron fist.
