00:00Previously on The Apprentice,
00:02after three straight losses,
00:04the women of Apex were having problems.
00:06I do think it's unprofessional to start crying
00:08in the middle of the restaurant,
00:09and I do feel if you have to order bread,
00:10it shouldn't take 45 minutes.
00:12I agree with you, the women are tearing each other apart.
00:14You know, we're our own worst enemies right now.
00:18At the task delivery, Pamela was told to leave Mosaic
00:21and become the project manager for the women of Apex.
00:24We're gonna see if you can pull this whole mess together.
00:27It's not going to be easy.
00:29Your task is to go to the headquarters of QVC,
00:33pick a product, and then you're going to appear
00:36on live television, selling the product.
00:39Apex chose a cleaning block
00:41and Maria as their spokesperson.
00:43What is it works?
00:44Well, Dave, I'm glad you asked.
00:46Have you ever had a permanent mark in your home
00:47that you thought was gonna become a permanent fixture?
00:49I think Jen is more convincing than Maria.
00:51I do too, I do too.
00:52Pamela and Elizabeth demoted Maria to a lesser role.
00:56Savannah, I want you to talk to Maria,
00:58make sure that she does not say anything.
01:00Jen is leading this discussion.
01:02You don't have to have the talk.
01:03I got it loud and clear.
01:04What am I, stupid?
01:05Kelly took over the pricing for Mosaic's panini grill.
01:09I think we need to stay over $70
01:11and try to maximize our revenue.
01:12Project manager Chris agreed and Mosaic went on the air.
01:16What we've got here in front of you
01:17is the galangi panini maker.
01:19I'm just gonna lift it up here and show you what we're doing.
01:21When the figures were tallied up,
01:23Mosaic won by the slimmest of margins.
01:26Mosaic wins by $10.
01:28No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no.
01:31Sending the women to the boardroom
01:33for the fourth consecutive time,
01:35where Stacey made her case against Pamela.
01:37I am not gonna act unethically.
01:39If you want another Enron on your hands, Mr. Trump,
01:41here's Pamela.
01:42Pamela, I think you're really smart.
01:44I think you're really interesting.
01:45I totally disagree with your choices
01:47and you don't have a good assessment of people.
01:49Pamela, you're fired.
01:5313 candidates are left.
01:55Who will be fired this week?
01:58Bernie, Bernie, Bernie!
02:00Bernie, Bernie, Bernie!
02:02Bernie, Bernie, Bernie!
02:06Some people got to have it.
02:10Eh, eh, eh!
02:12Some people really need it.
02:14Ah, tell me now,
02:17Do signs, do signs, do signs.
02:20Bad signs today.
02:24Do the same, do the same, bad thing
02:30Dollar bill, y'all, come on
02:32That deal, oh, deal
02:36Make green on my desire
02:40I don't know that money
02:44Give me a nickel, brother, can you swear that
02:50Money can drive some people out of their mind
02:57No good, no good
02:59Money, money, money, money
03:03Money
03:15If they all gang up on Pamela
03:17Trump is going to see it as they're afraid of her
03:19And they're ganging up on her because she's an outsider
03:21Trump likes her a lot
03:25Pamela, Stacey and Maria are in the boardroom
03:28Pamela has been seen as the strongest female contender by Mr. Trump
03:33And the entire team has, you know, gone and said that she should be the person to go
03:38My own personal opinion is Pamela should be fired
03:42Pamela comes back with a hang in my room
03:45I hate these moments
03:47What's for dinner?
03:48Hi, Stace
03:49Wow, cool
03:54Oh, my God
03:57You're brilliant, you're brilliant
03:59You did yourselves a favor, you did us a favor
04:02Ding dong, the ice queen is dead
04:06When Pamela didn't come back, you know, there was a general outburst of excitement
04:11A general sense of victory
04:13And I said, Mr. Trump, her request of me was completely unethical
04:16If you want another end run on your hands, hire Pamela
04:20Little firecracker
04:21The women definitely gelled right after Pamela left
04:23Obviously, anything that makes the women's team stronger at this point in time is bad for us as a team
04:28But you know what? I'm not afraid
04:30I don't think anybody on the guys' team is afraid of seeing the A-game from the women
04:34You know, I'm going to do my best to delegate stuff as best we can
04:36And I got a lot of faith in all you guys
04:38I'm going to try to take on some ownership of some projects as well
04:41We choose project managers by random lot, and I was chosen
04:45The tasks are so all over the board, I didn't know what to expect
04:48But I was confident in my abilities, and I think I had a lot of support
04:52When you're delegating tomorrow, give me something good
04:58Give him something
04:59After the last task performance, I couldn't see giving you anything but the most important job
05:04I'm just buzzing your balls, Raj
05:06I like Raj a lot, I mean, the guy is fun, he's opinionated
05:10He's opinionated, there's no doubt
05:12But the guy is sharp
05:13All right, sir, I'm going to go to bed
05:15Okay, I will give you my allegiance tomorrow
05:17I appreciate it, soldier
05:18Whatever he said
05:20The guys are having their official meeting, like, taking minutes
05:27What?
05:28I'm just trying to think if there's anything we need to talk about tonight
05:30Go to sleep early
05:31You know, honestly, I just get so sick and tired of talking
05:34The team is burned out with Elizabeth wasting their time
05:38Her need to talk and concepts will continue to be a problem
05:42If the project leader is not able to control Elizabeth, to nip her in the bud
05:47Yet make her feel like she's truly investing in the task
05:51It's going to be more about winning
05:52We're ready
05:53We're ready to be hardcore
05:54I mean, we've been hardcore, but let's be hardcore
06:09Hello?
06:10Hi, good morning, this is Ronan, Mr. Trump's office
06:12Good morning
06:13Mr. Trump will be working at Trump Model Management this morning
06:16Meet him there at 9 a.m.
06:18Bye-bye
06:22How cool would it be if we had to have just a contest on how fast we could grease a dozen models?
06:26How cool would it be?
06:33So, John, what do you have? Who's this?
06:35This is Monique
06:36Monique?
06:37She's only been with us for a couple of months
06:39But right away she started booking huge jobs
06:41Ten pages at Cosmopolitan Magazine
06:43Are you doing well?
06:44Yes, I'm really happy
06:45Good
06:46Yeah
06:47Well, I don't know if the women are excited, but the men are all going crazy, right?
06:51All right
06:52Welcome to Trump Model Management
06:54We have some of the most beautiful women in the world working here
06:57New York City is the fashion capital of the world, by far
07:02It's a $90 billion a year business
07:05This week, I want you to produce a new clothing line
07:10that will become, hopefully, tomorrow's hottest fashion
07:14You'll pick a new emerging designer
07:17Then, using the beautiful women behind me from Trump Models
07:21you're going to show your fashion line at the Avon Fall Fashion Show
07:27at the St. Regis Hotel
07:29Buyers from Bergdorf Goodman, Bloomingdale's, Jeffree, Saks, and Henry Bendel
07:36will be there to hopefully purchase your line of clothing
07:40The team that earns the most money selling their fashion line will be the winner
07:47Chris, you were the project manager of a winning team last week
07:51If you find yourself in the boardroom this time, you are exempt
07:56So, the losers, back to the boardroom where someone will be fired
08:02Good luck
08:09I'm the project manager of this task
08:11I have a minor in home economics
08:13I've made tailored suits and have a mother that taught home economics for 14 years
08:16Put money on the Apex team for this task
08:20None of us have any experience doing this, but guess what?
08:23If we come out and we can wow them and put everything we've got into it, I think we can win
08:27This is for you guys to browse through
08:29This is all my stuff
08:32Mission critical one was picking the right designer with the right amount of creativity
08:36Not too out there, but still being able to create something fresh
08:40I'm really interested in taking vintage denim and patchworking it together
08:45Ilse?
08:46Ilse
08:47Pleasure
08:48So, you put a little edge on elegant things
08:51I would say a big edge
08:52My first impression of Ilse was she was a little bit eccentric, but when she showed us her stuff, I really liked it
08:57The knit, the whole wool, the knit is very in right now
09:00It almost looks like it's art, but it's not
09:03I definitely made the final decision on the designer
09:05I mean, I was project manager, so I went with Ilse
09:08My look is Audrey Hepburn, and what I'm doing new for the fall is shapes
09:14Color is really important to me
09:15It gives off an emotion
09:17I always say this, you want to be the low end at the high end stores
09:20Darren had some great concepts, we thought, and he knows the industry from A to Z
09:25So, let's talk now about Darren
09:27I think he probably has the potential
09:29I just want to caution to the team, okay, you guys?
09:31I don't want to repeat what we did last task, which was we picked the lower price one, and then we tried to change it
09:37Darren is the right choice, I just wanted to say it one last time, and it's over
09:40We're done
09:41All right, so what we're doing next
09:43Can I make a quick suggestion?
09:45It's really clear that the buyers are definitely our target audience this time
09:49And it's not necessarily the masses, it's what they want
09:52I want you to make a list of the questions that we're going to ask the buyers, because you're perfect for that
09:56Elizabeth loves to overanalyze
09:59My goal is to get her away from the group, so I sent her with Jen to the buyers
10:04Thank you ladies, call us and give us your feedback
10:07Okay
10:16It was important to eat, so we brainstormed our concepts while ordering food
10:20Could we do like one pant outfit, but then also one crop pant?
10:24Okay, tell me ideas that you guys have for tops too, like silhouettes
10:28Okay, I think that needs to be a sexy, like a butt down
10:31We made it very clear to Darren, we wanted a line that any one of us would actually buy and wear
10:35So is this a dress or a skirt?
10:37Right now it's a dress, but if we feel that we're too dress heavy, we can make it a bustier and a skirt
10:42So that's why we can modify it
10:44Okay, so this is for?
10:46In the span of 45 to 50 minutes, if we're cheeseburgers, onion rings and french fries, we designed our entire collection
10:53So it was really a smart move on Maria's part to get Elizabeth out of our hair
10:58Two pants, one skirt
11:01Right, oh, love, love, love, like that makes my mouth water
11:13We split into two groups, Kevin, Wes and Andy, we're gonna go talk to all the buyers
11:18The rest of us, we're gonna head out to the Parsons School of Design in New York City and start working on the clothes
11:25Why don't you sketch for us what this sort of balloony bottom would look like in a way that would accentuate the female body
11:34A lot of the guys in this team I don't think would be able to design some women's clothing
11:38It's not something I can necessarily give Kelly and say, finish this while I go do this
11:43High heels are in right now, correct?
11:45Have they ever been out?
11:47What about a backpack out of these fabrics?
11:49I think backpacks are shot though right now
11:51In terms of the fabric, the idea of having, you know, texture, doing something to the fabric where you have these sort of lines
11:58You're a little vague, but are we done with this one or not?
12:02I think so, unless
12:03We need to have five more, right?
12:05Yeah
12:07I got frustrated that John and Raj were futzing around so much
12:12So when the designer got up to go to the bathroom, I just sat down and sketched one out
12:17Part of it's this
12:19I want her in high heels
12:20I think that's cool
12:22You put a nice hot model in that with no top?
12:24That looks great
12:25I'm very surprised with Kelly
12:27I just said to him, where did this come from? You're an army guy
12:29After today I'm pretty surprised he's not wearing a pink camouflage underwears
12:36This is a coat
12:37There's some kind of connection here, I don't know if it's a link chain or a buckle or something
12:40Yeah, that's going to work great
12:42That's going to be a great piece
12:49When I build a building or when I build a golf course or a club or whatever I do
12:55You always have to go after a certain audience
12:58Number one paperback is The Art of the Deal
13:02And the number one business book is How to Get Rich
13:06You have to be able to pinpoint your market
13:09And if you can't pinpoint the market, you won't be successful
13:12Have a good time everybody
13:19The Art of the Deal
13:25The task is to design outfits for a woman's new clothing line
13:28And sell the most clothes to our buyers
13:31The focus of the line will sell it more than your colors or your fabrics
13:35Right
13:36The themes would be quality, luxury for us, what's missing from our customers' closets
13:43So cost, how does that factor into your buying decisions?
13:46You can't have a line that's so out of whack price-wise with all the things you're sitting next to
13:50Elizabeth and I were definitely racing from place to place
13:53But the buyers gave us very valuable information
14:01The wind's going to come down to the product line
14:03So this is very important to salesy type meetings
14:05Hey Jeffrey, do you have a second? There's somewhere we can talk
14:08Yeah, yeah
14:10Because these people are going to be the buyers of our product
14:12We're trying to generate a little sympathy and set the bar low
14:15This industry is just so tough as a business
14:17And there's so much intuitive things that have to go into this
14:20So how can guys beat the women when we're talking ladies' fashion?
14:25Because we know what we like on the ladies
14:27Exactly
14:28Now I'm just trying to think of all the very successful straight male fashion designers out there
14:34But you know what?
14:35They're on a whole lot
14:37John, Raj, Kelly and myself
14:39We had to go to the store picking out fabrics
14:45This is definitely interesting
14:48Too fluffy, too goofy
14:50Goofy, that was the word I was thinking of
14:55Your objection to this is what?
14:57I'm just not seeing it
15:01I'm just not seeing it
15:03Your objection to this is what?
15:04I'm just not seeing it
15:12Too white
15:13Okay
15:19It's somewhat of a comedy scene here
15:22All of them are clearly out of their element
15:25They have no idea what they're doing
15:27But Kelly seems to, again, risen to the occasion to organize
15:31The problem is we just keep grabbing stuff and we're not focused on getting one thing done, right?
15:34We have to pull an outfit together
15:36Yes
15:39It's extremely chaotic, there's no organization
15:42Raj is not helpful at all, he goes off on tangents, goes and grabs things
15:46I think John needs to concentrate on something and get it done
15:51We got the pants, now let's add the top
15:52Right
15:53Okay, let's go
15:54I was the one who was focused and emphasized that we need to get this completed
15:59I felt like I was doing the project manager's work
16:02So this is done, then
16:04That's done
16:05Let's go, ladies
16:06Thanks again, Eddie
16:07Bye-bye
16:14I love this
16:16What do you think of this?
16:17Paisley's huge
16:18That's a great fit
16:19Yeah, I like that
16:20We decided this for the long pants, the trousers
16:21That's correct
16:22I think it's going to be great
16:23Let's say four and a half yards
16:24How's this one?
16:25Yeah
16:26We had purchased all our fabrics
16:28And then Elizabeth and Jen came back from their buyer meetings
16:32Imagine this as this off-the-shoulder asymmetrical wrap
16:36And then the inside is yummy fake fur
16:38I love where you guys are going
16:40I'm just thinking, I don't think this is rich enough material
16:44Every complication is definitely the kiss of death for our group
16:47But it's coming from one person, and that's Elizabeth
16:50So what's the signature garment?
16:52What's the staple for a line? It could be a jacket
16:54Well, we don't have enough time to do a jacket
16:56So the capelet is really
16:57You don't go to a designer for a cape
16:59But that's the thing, it's like we're redefining what the capelet is
17:02It was frustrating the hell out of me
17:04Because I'm just like, look, you're just creating noise
17:06And we don't need it
17:08I go to this designer for my dress
17:10I have one
17:11You're confusing me right now
17:13Because I'm trying to tell you that the signature item is the capelet
17:15And when I tell you that, you then tell me about the concept
17:17I don't mean to be a bitch, but this is what we're going with
17:25You got it?
17:27Once we had purchased all of our fabrics
17:29We headed over to Parsons Design School
17:31And we met up with the seamstresses
17:33That were actually going to be sewing our garments
17:36And right here in the very center
17:38Additional fabric coming out of that
17:40Like here, nothing's going to flare, it's going to be straight
17:43Yeah, straight, but it's not going to be tight
17:45We asked Darren whether it was necessary
17:47To see the models, to start measuring them
17:49And he said there was no need at all
17:51And he said there was no need at all
17:53So we kind of referred to the measurements
17:55That were furnished to us by the Trump agency
17:57And we went from there
18:07Gentlemen, gentlemen
18:09After we finished the fabric store
18:11We took all the fabric back to the Parsons School of Design
18:13We were kind of sitting there, what should we do next?
18:15Wes, Wes, who'd you pick?
18:17Oh, there's no question for me
18:19It's definitely this girl, there's no question
18:21Yeah, I'm one, two, three
18:23What about this one? Carly?
18:25Carly is hot too, look at the way she's pinching her leg there
18:28Right?
18:30So we decided to call in the models
18:32And get some measurements
18:34Instead of silk, if it wasn't fall
18:36We could use linen
18:38Hello, ladies
18:42Well, if anybody's ever seen a beehive
18:44And you've got all the bees buzzing around the same thing
18:46One location, that's what it was like
18:48The models showed up
18:50How long have you been modeling?
18:52Six years
18:56Not having, despite his Harvard education
18:58Anything to say
19:00And he giggled the whole time
19:02I can't remember what I was doing
19:04Because I was in some sort of chemical haze
19:06I forgot a lot, a lot, a lot
19:08Unfortunately, it's a very difficult language
19:12Yeah, but the pronunciation is good
19:14But very different
19:37I didn't say that
19:52Hey, good morning
19:54Hi, oh my gosh
19:56Oh, that's amazing
19:58Hello
20:00How are you doing? Good to see you
20:02When we walked in the room this morning
20:04When we saw our designs created
20:06It was like incredibly rewarding and very exciting
20:08I think we all got really pumped up
20:10Can I try this on?
20:12Such an addiction
20:14My vocabulary's been reduced to fabulous
20:16Oh, it's great on you
20:18And love it, love it, love it
20:20I love, I love it
20:22This is so funny
20:24There you go
20:26And we turned into little nine-year-old girls
20:28Playing dress-up again
20:30And you definitely see the lion
20:32Even when you're walking
20:34That's fabulous
20:36Darren had also finished the line sheets
20:38It's a stripped-down description
20:40For the buyers
20:42And then when you put that with the order form
20:44That's really tight and crisp and clean
20:46It's gonna be a nice
20:48I am completely confident that buyers
20:50Will love our line
20:52But I am not guaranteeing victory
20:54Because I don't know what our competition's gonna pull out of the hat
21:02What's up?
21:04Oh, no, it's you guys again
21:06How'd it go?
21:08Well, we had a lot of problems
21:10Digging it one piece at a time
21:12When we got to Parsons School of Design in the morning
21:14They barely had one piece finished
21:16There was a lot that needed to be done
21:18And we did not have a lot of time
21:20All right, we gotta finish this here
21:22The designer actually gave
21:24Specific directions
21:26I need to focus on this or something, you know
21:28It's not gonna work out
21:31I don't know how to describe
21:33Fabrics
21:35I don't get the question
21:37Let her work, Raj
21:39Let her work
21:41And every time you turn around, Raj is back there talking
21:43You know, wailing about with his hands
21:45He just doesn't shut up
21:47I need to name these clothes
21:49For this one here, I call it
21:51I already went over all this
21:53Okay
21:57Get it straight
21:59Huh?
22:01This used to be this pant
22:03No, this pant, no
22:05It's a totally separate one
22:07This pant was always in
22:09These guys keep asking me the stupidest questions
22:11I look over and I see
22:13One and a half outfits completed
22:15I'd had enough of Raj
22:17Constantly slowing her down
22:19Don't talk to her anymore
22:21We're trying to get something done
22:23You ask him a question, you ask her a question
22:25To have information
22:27To have information that you need, Raj
22:29You don't have to pretend like this is a CIA
22:31You're on need-to-know basis
22:33This is not a platform for which you can just expand your personality
22:35Kelly had to say, look, man
22:37We need to get this done
22:39She does not need you confusing the situation, making matters worse
22:41Something John should have recognized, something he should have seen
22:43He needs to control for that
22:45John, you have your way of doing things
22:47I mean, Kelly, you have your way of doing things
22:49I have my way of doing things
22:51And if we're an hour late and we have four items
22:53And we're disqualified
22:55Yeah, and you're not doing anything functional
22:57So it doesn't matter
22:59She is
23:09Is that okay?
23:11We seriously need the phones
23:13I'm leaving you, bye
23:15With about three hours to show time
23:17We headed to the St. Regis Hotel
23:19To get the models into hair and makeup
23:21Finished ones go in the middle, huh?
23:23And Stacey, we're responsible for getting swatches
23:25Attached to packets for the buyers
23:29Does it matter on these dark brown, like, which side I do?
23:31Well, Twill, you don't really
23:33There's not a big difference between the two sides
23:35I guess I'm a little bit bummed
23:37Because I think it would have been amazing
23:39To be at St. Regis with the rest of the team
23:41But for some reason
23:43I am not the favorite of the group
23:45I mean, I'm not really sort of
23:47In with the group the way
23:49A lot of them are in with each other
23:51Can you hold that?
23:53It's all good to go
24:03Raj, Chris and I are leaving
24:05Because we gotta get these models dressed
24:07And we go out at five
24:09You guys, it's your job to get the pricing
24:11I delegated pricing to Kevin and Wes
24:13And Andy, who's working on the line sheets
24:15All right, guys, we'll see you there
24:17Christian and Raj went to meet the models
24:19So they left early
24:21I felt that John should have more control
24:23Over the things that were most important, like pricing
24:25A leader stays where he's most needed
24:2795?
24:29I mean, those are the prices that I'm used
24:31I have been aiming at
24:33Kevin grabbed Ilse away
24:35So she went through each item
24:37All 14 items and gave what she thought
24:39Would be the minimum she could sell it for
24:41I jacked these up a little bit
24:43Now, you know what? Jack that up to 410
24:45Nice
24:47Jack these up to 210
24:49Pack everything up, guys. We have to go
24:51If they don't have something, they don't have something
24:53Hey, guys!
24:55Great job
24:57Let's do it
25:07We're up here in the Pimp Daddy suite
25:09The ladies over here with Dave on
25:11They just finished up their hair and makeup
25:13We're gonna get them dressed in a little bit
25:15So what do you think? You like bow ties?
25:17Yeah
25:19You hardly see it anymore, so I like it
25:21It's a shame, isn't it?
25:23Yeah
25:25Hey! Hang these clothes up
25:27Immediately
25:29I'm not gonna deny that I was nervous
25:31But the clothes were finished. They looked awesome
25:33Hey, this is it, guys. I'm confident
25:35I think the clothes look great. Appreciate it, guys
25:37All right, man. Way to work, guys
25:39Go get them
25:45I have never been involved with a fashion show
25:47So it is an exciting thing to be part of
25:49And we're front row
25:51Directly across from the buyers
25:57Welcome to the Avon Fall Fashion Show
25:59So now without further ado, let's get started
26:15The women got to go first
26:19This is Madison, ladies and gentlemen
26:21And she's wearing fabulous
26:23Glacial tweed ensemble
26:29Next we have Gemma
26:31In a short, short suit
26:33This is Rachel
26:35Who is wearing a satin camisole top
26:39Once we saw the women's stuff
26:41We were like, we can beat them
26:43There's mini skirts and backless dresses
26:45No buyer's gonna buy that
26:57Here's Carly
26:59Carly's wearing a trapunto pipe
27:01By a skirt
27:03My gut reaction when I saw the first outfit
27:05From the men's line was, oh my god
27:07Who raided my father's attic
27:09And who cut out my sofa
27:11Now we have the fabulous Claudia
27:13In a plaid, wool, trimmed
27:15Silk blouse
27:19Here's a lovely kind of textured wool mohair
27:21Lined in tweed and edged in suede
27:27Sharka is wearing a plaid
27:29Woolen blouson
27:33This is Frances Darling
27:35And she's in a mix of tweeds
27:38This is Nicola
27:40Wearing a little vestlet
27:42And an indigo gold durex skirt
27:44That has its own leash
27:49That's great
27:51That's great
27:59You guys are so couture
28:01So what? Couture?
28:03What's couture mean again?
28:05History has proven that areas
28:07Where the women would dominate,
28:09We've won, so I don't feel
28:11that we're the underdog
28:13That guy's all business
28:15All business
28:35All business
28:37All business
28:39All business
28:41All business
28:43All business
28:45All business
28:47All business
28:49All business
28:51All business
28:53All business
28:55All business
28:57All business
28:59All business
29:01All business
29:03Okay
29:05George, how did the women do?
29:07Well, the women did a lot better than that
29:09They more than tripled
29:11What the men did
29:13They sold $22,060
29:21That's right,
29:23Ivana, finally you've done it
29:25So that means, Maria, you'll be exempt
29:27From the next boardroom should you lose
29:29But maybe you won't lose so much anymore
29:31Who knows, this was a big thrashing.
29:33This was a big beating.
29:35I think the men priced incorrectly.
29:37You priced very high.
29:38Now, as your reward, you're going to walk
29:41right next to Trump Tower to the Hugo Boss store
29:45where we're having a big celebrity party.
29:46Cirque du Soleil is going to perform.
29:49So, men, you can stand on the balcony of Trump Tower
29:53and look down at the party.
29:55Chris, as you know, you're exempt
29:58because you won last time.
30:00But I'm going to see the men in the boardroom
30:02where somebody will be fired.
30:04I feel crushed, disappointed, emotionally drained,
30:24miserable.
30:25Kevin and Wes are both responsible for pricing.
30:32Equally.
30:33Who do you bring?
30:34Do you bring them both?
30:35It's a good idea.
30:36You need to build your case on the pricing issue.
30:41Raj kind of backed up my thinking.
30:43We lost on price.
30:44When Chris came out, I said, Chris, you know,
30:46what do you think?
30:47And he said, it's obvious.
30:48He said, you did a bang-up job and it comes down to price.
30:51Trump said it.
30:52Chris.
30:53Overall, irrespective of this task,
30:54who do you think deserves to go home the most?
30:55I would have to say...
30:56it may be Andy because he did less work.
31:07I don't think I'm in much danger
31:09and I don't think I did anything wrong.
31:10I'm going to go back inside
31:12before they think we're having a f***ing co-op.
31:19Looks a little boring.
31:24Hi!
31:25Hi!
31:26Do you believe what they can do to you?
31:29But they also made a mistake.
31:31They overpriced it.
31:34At the event, all the girls stuck together.
31:36We had a great time.
31:37It was definitely a great bonding experience for us all.
31:42Our reward wasn't the party.
31:44It was the fact that we didn't have to face
31:46another boardroom experience.
31:58Wes and Kevin are equally responsible for price.
32:01They're going to gang up on you, probably.
32:03Talking with Kelly did change my mind a little bit.
32:05He said if you bring in two very strong people,
32:08like Kevin and Wes,
32:09you got a good shot at going home yourself.
32:11Andy didn't screw up, but he didn't do s*** either.
32:15Correct.
32:16What's safest for me is to take Andy.
32:18Trump asked you, Kelly, who would you fire?
32:20Andy.
32:22Based on past performance?
32:23Based on past...
32:24That performance, too. He didn't do anything.
32:45So, men, after four victories in a row, you finally lost.
33:10What happened?
33:11Well, Mr. Trump, what can I say? We're devastated.
33:13It was a very tough loss.
33:15Went into this, in my opinion, severe underdogs,
33:17but I knew I was going to work my butt off
33:19and do everything I could as a leader to bring us to victory.
33:21I think at the end of the day,
33:22this task came down to a critical error in pricing.
33:25I think we priced ourselves out of the market.
33:27Who set the pricing?
33:28I actually worked on pricing with Wes,
33:31and we went out and we talked to all the buyers,
33:33tried to get as much of a feel for the market as we could.
33:36I don't think John could answer the question
33:37about what our pricing was.
33:38Oh, absolutely, he could have.
33:39I had to leave for the St. Regis,
33:41and I said, I trust you, Wes, and I trust you, Kevin,
33:44that you will be able to do it.
33:45But I said to them...
33:46What about delegation on something like pricing?
33:48Isn't that the ultimate thing?
33:49But, Mr. Trump, it was so easy
33:50because you've got a designer at your disposal.
33:52I think we lost this task in the first two hours
33:54with the decision to choose Ilsa as the designer.
33:56I think her...
33:57Whose decision was that?
33:58That was John's decision.
33:59My decision, Mr. Trump.
34:00I think that that decision put us at a distinct disadvantage
34:03because she used a lot of very expensive materials.
34:05So you think John made a mistake?
34:07I think the error was made in the first two hours.
34:08So you think John should be fired?
34:10I do.
34:12If I may just say a brief word in defense of John...
34:15Raj, what do you know? You just wanted the models.
34:17That's not true.
34:18I heard you were totally a hound dog with the models.
34:21He drove the designer crazy.
34:22He drove the models crazy.
34:24That's who he drove crazy.
34:27Who would you, Raj, who would you fire?
34:29Would you or me?
34:30Andy.
34:31It's been very difficult for him to gain the overall,
34:35I'd say, respect of the team as a strong player.
34:38Why? Because he's young?
34:39Part of it, absolutely.
34:40If you ask me on this specific task,
34:42I would say that Kevin, who had the pricing portfolio,
34:46did a major mistake.
34:47Yeah, but Raj, I don't understand it.
34:48Go ahead.
34:49You say you'd fire Andy, but you're talking against Kevin.
34:51No.
34:52Pick him on.
34:53I'm saying, no, there are two parts of it.
34:54If you ask for the overall performance...
34:56Overall, you would fire Andy?
34:58Overall, yes.
34:59And that's because you think he's not respected by the rest of the team?
35:01That is correct.
35:02Okay, that's interesting.
35:04Andy.
35:05I would fire John, and I think John did lead us to some extent,
35:08but he led us in the wrong direction.
35:10Kelly, who would you fire?
35:11I think Andy needs the most attention and oversight.
35:15Well, if I need to be babysat,
35:16then why am I the one cutting 350 line sheets
35:19and basically doing it by myself?
35:21Because that is the most non-intellectual,
35:23labor-intensive job we had,
35:25because no one would trust you to do anything where you could...
35:27That's not true.
35:28Have you ever headed anything?
35:29That's not true at all.
35:30That's not true at all.
35:31All right, so, Chris, look,
35:32you really don't care because you're exempt,
35:34but who would you fire if you were me?
35:36Even though he worked the hardest, in my opinion,
35:38and he worked the strongest, he left loose ends,
35:40I would have to say John.
35:41You would fire John.
35:44John, you can pick two people or three people
35:47to come back into the boardroom.
35:49What would you like to do?
35:50Take two people, Mr. Trump.
35:51You know, I don't get that.
35:53Everybody takes two people.
35:55Who are the two people I think I know?
35:56Who are they?
35:57Kevin and Andy.
35:58Right, right.
35:59Okay, Kelly, Chris, Raj, Wes,
36:03go back up to the suite.
36:05John, Andy, Kevin,
36:07I'll see you guys back here in a minute.
36:30So, George, who do you like best in the group?
36:32I like Andy.
36:33I think he's got raw material.
36:34With proper training, he could be exceptional.
36:36Carolyn, who do you like?
36:38I like John.
36:39He worked very hard,
36:40but he just made way too many mistakes.
36:42All right.
36:44Robin.
36:45Let him in.
36:46Mr. Trump's ready for you guys.
37:04So, Andy, you don't think you should be here right now.
37:06I do not, sir.
37:07You sort of don't know what you did wrong.
37:09I really don't.
37:10Andy never takes a leadership role in anything we do,
37:13and that happens week after week after week,
37:15and there is kind of an unwritten consensus on the team
37:19that he is unable to step up when things count.
37:22That's not true.
37:23I understand you being here, Kevin,
37:25because you were involved with pricing.
37:27I wasn't the only one in charge of pricing.
37:29Wes and I did this together, which is interesting.
37:31I was going to ask you that.
37:32Why didn't you bring Wes in?
37:33If the pricing was the big deal,
37:35why didn't you bring Wes in with Kevin?
37:40Wes, if he failed a task, he should be here.
37:46Yes, I think I made a mistake,
37:47and I think Wes should be here.
37:48Honestly, you made a lot of mistakes on this one.
37:50But, Mr. Trump, I'll say this,
37:52and that is, hopefully, with Carolyn as my witness
37:54and with George as my witness,
37:56I put my heart...
37:57How about me? Am I a witness too?
37:59Well, they're there every day.
38:00But let me be a witness also.
38:01Okay, and Mr. Trump is my witness.
38:03Okay, good.
38:04I put my heart and soul into this.
38:05I agree.
38:06All I want to say is, you know, in past tasks,
38:07hopefully, Carolyn, you've seen how hard I've worked,
38:09and I've stepped up as a leader
38:10in many other aspects of these tasks,
38:12and I hate being here.
38:14It's miserable, because my team is strong,
38:16and these guys are good guys.
38:18I'm just so disappointed.
38:20I wanted this win for my team so badly,
38:22and I just apologize I made these mistakes,
38:24and it sucks that we're here.
38:27Andy, you shouldn't be in this room.
38:31You were chosen.
38:32I don't believe you should be in this room.
38:34John, you made some bad decisions.
38:37I did.
38:38And you admit that you made some bad decisions.
38:40And I think you're going to be a tremendous success someday.
38:44I really believe that.
38:45Kevin, you made a critical error
38:47by overpricing the designs.
38:49And in business, bad pricing can just kill you.
38:52But to be honest with you,
38:53I can't pick you for another reason.
38:55And that's that, John, you didn't bring Wes in here,
38:58and he's just as responsible as Kevin.
39:00But even worse than that,
39:02you had absolutely no involvement in the pricing yourself.
39:06And as the project manager, that's just inexcusable.
39:11John, you're fired.
39:21Too many bad decisions.
39:30I'm sorry.
39:56I think John's outstanding, I have to tell you.
39:58I hate firing people that are that good.
40:02But we had no choice.
40:03I mean, he just made too many bad decisions this time.
40:28Stay tuned for scenes from our next episode.
40:59You know, I pretty much got hammered in the boardroom
41:02by the majority of my team.
41:03I didn't think they necessarily felt that way.
41:06I don't think I deserved as bad a reputation
41:09as it kind of came off for what I did on this project.
41:12I think I worked my butt off,
41:14and I did the best that I could do.
41:16And I'm not necessarily sure that anyone else in my shoes
41:18could have done a better job on our team.
41:20I do feel that, you know, I was a stronger candidate
41:23than going out this early justifies.
41:25Obviously, I would have liked to have stayed in it longer,
41:27but sometimes you give your best,
41:28and it doesn't always work out.
41:29That's life, and keep my head up,
41:31and keep on chugging.
