00:00:00It's going to be an exciting night.
00:00:25I look forward to this one.
00:00:29Eric is tough and smart and loyal.
00:00:32And Randall is Randall.
00:00:33I mean, the guy is just exceptional.
00:00:34It's going to be tough.
00:00:36Okay, Noel, we're here.
00:00:39Pull over.
00:00:40Thanks.
00:00:41Come on, folks.
00:00:42Let's go.
00:00:44Come on, folks.
00:00:50Let's go.
00:01:13Let's go.
00:01:28Let's go.
00:01:38Beautiful love.
00:01:45Thanks, Robin.
00:01:52Wow.
00:01:56Wow.
00:02:18And welcome, everybody.
00:02:20We're live from Lincoln Center.
00:02:22Now, is everybody excited?
00:02:28It's going to be an unbelievable evening.
00:02:31Over 1 million people applied to be on The Apprentice.
00:02:34And we're right now down to Randall and Rebecca, okay?
00:02:44Both have a tough night ahead with their final tasks.
00:02:47You have two charity events.
00:02:49You both know what they are.
00:02:50They know what they are.
00:02:52Last week, we saw that rain was threatening Randall's celebrity softball game.
00:02:57Everybody saw it.
00:02:58It was a tough night for Randall.
00:03:00And Rebecca was having a really hard time with her comedy show.
00:03:04Before we watch, let's take a little bit of a poll, okay?
00:03:08Who prefers Randall?
00:03:10That's pretty good.
00:03:23That's pretty good.
00:03:24That's pretty good.
00:03:25Who likes Rebecca?
00:03:35Well, believe it or not, I haven't made up my mind yet.
00:03:38So turn off the lights.
00:03:39Let's get going.
00:03:41Here we go.
00:04:02Here we go.
00:04:30Here we go.
00:05:01One of the things is when did Joe know about this?
00:05:03I don't know.
00:05:04Whatever.
00:05:05It doesn't matter.
00:05:06It's just like find another person, I guess.
00:05:08Let's get someone bigger than Joe Piscopo.
00:05:10We don't have that much money.
00:05:11How much money do we have?
00:05:12There are numerous comics.
00:05:14We'll do it for free.
00:05:15Yeah, but they'll do it for free for a good cause.
00:05:18This is for Yahoo.
00:05:19No, this is for Elizabeth Glazer.
00:05:21Of course I'm upset that Joe Piscopo dropped out.
00:05:24At the same time, I mean, we've got to roll with the punches.
00:05:27That's what life is all about.
00:05:29We need to find an act.
00:05:31Just let's call the improv comedies around the city.
00:05:34I want you and Chris to be on finding new talent.
00:05:37I need to speak with someone regarding the possibility of hiring some of your comedians for a job tomorrow.
00:05:43And we're hoping to find an improv group or a couple of comedians that might be able to show up for our event tomorrow.
00:05:49We got together as a group.
00:05:51We brainstormed new ideas and tried to call people to see what other talent was out there on such short notice.
00:05:58I didn't feel defeated at this point, but it was a major setback.
00:06:01I wanted to make sure that the person we found wasn't just whoever was available.
00:06:05It was actually someone qualified to get the job done and do it right.
00:06:09You know who's next?
00:06:11You know who's in line?
00:06:12What?
00:06:13You're next.
00:06:14Then me.
00:06:15No problem.
00:06:16You kidding me?
00:06:17Come on.
00:06:28Hello, Accel Corporation.
00:06:43Josh, it's Steve calling.
00:06:44How are you?
00:06:45Hey, Steve.
00:06:46How are you doing?
00:06:47I'm doing good.
00:06:48We got some rain today.
00:06:49It's supposed to rain this morning.
00:06:53Do we have a tarp we can pull out?
00:06:57We have a tarp.
00:06:58The problem with the tarp is we're going to have to take down that little steel wall.
00:07:02We got a call from Steve Cohen out at Keyspan Park, and he's calling us to tell us,
00:07:06look, fellas, it's questionable if we can play this game.
00:07:09We've got to get the tarp out there so we can at least salvage the field in the event the weather lets up.
00:07:14The first thought that came to my mind was, I'm done.
00:07:17How far are you guys from the ballpark?
00:07:19We're probably about 40 minutes.
00:07:21Okay.
00:07:22Either you guys keep this or just get it because you're going to need to make that call.
00:07:25I mean, it was an outdoor event.
00:07:27There should have been a contingency plan in place, and it just completely eluded me.
00:07:31I banked on the fact that we'd get good weather, and that was really my oversight.
00:07:37Hello, Excel Corporation.
00:07:39Hi, is this Randall?
00:07:41This is Josh.
00:07:42Randall's right here.
00:07:43Who's calling?
00:07:44Hi, Josh.
00:07:45It's Allison Singer from Autism Speak.
00:07:46Hold on one second.
00:07:48Hi, Allison.
00:07:49It's Randall.
00:07:50Hi, Randall.
00:07:51How are you?
00:07:52I'm very good.
00:07:53How are you?
00:07:54Yeah, I shouldn't say I'm very good.
00:07:55I should say I'm okay as well, given this weather.
00:07:58Yeah.
00:07:59What time today will you make the play-no-play decision as to the game?
00:08:07I would guess probably at around 11 o'clock, only because we are on our way to the stadium now.
00:08:13We want to get out there and have a conversation with Steve, the groundskeeper, and see how the weather's progressing.
00:08:21And then at some point this morning, we can make the call.
00:08:24All right.
00:08:25So I'll just check in with you throughout the morning.
00:08:27Yeah, we'll stay in close communication.
00:08:29If there are any developments on our end, we'll keep you in the loop.
00:08:32Okay.
00:08:33Okay?
00:08:34All right.
00:08:35Thanks, Randall.
00:08:40It was gorgeous last night.
00:08:41It was going to be a great, great event.
00:08:43It still has potential.
00:08:45It still has potential.
00:08:46I mean, this isn't rain.
00:08:47This is drizzle.
00:08:52♪♪♪
00:09:01Hey, bud.
00:09:03Hey, how you doing?
00:09:04The talent is here.
00:09:05Hey, I want to take you up to meet Rebecca.
00:09:07I got Pete on my hand.
00:09:09I'm glad to hear that.
00:09:10That was nice.
00:09:11Last night we made some calls.
00:09:13I found Pete Dominick.
00:09:14Pete is from the Gotham Comedy Club.
00:09:16He is one of the best emcees in the New York City area.
00:09:19When we look at Pete, we realize Pete has the experience.
00:09:22Do you have any special requests?
00:09:24I want three models.
00:09:26I want Jennifer Lopez there.
00:09:28I also want Jennifer Garner there because I used to know her.
00:09:30Are you all right, Rebecca?
00:09:31I'm okay.
00:09:32Do you want to loosen up and eat a hug?
00:09:33I know it's very stressful.
00:09:34It's comedy.
00:09:35We're going to have a great time.
00:09:37The best thing you did was booking me to host.
00:09:39I can't tell you because I'm smooth.
00:09:41I can't wait.
00:09:42It's going to be great.
00:09:43It's going to be funny.
00:09:44This is a very pressure-packed situation,
00:09:46and you just have to follow your gut and get things done.
00:09:51I have to make people like me, and they have to have a good time.
00:09:53They don't have a home and write in a journal.
00:09:55It's going to be great.
00:09:56I do this every night.
00:09:58We're rolling with the punches here, and we're making this thing work.
00:10:00I'm really proud of my team.
00:10:11This sucks.
00:10:12We got to the ballpark.
00:10:13This is Steve, the executive director of the Brooklyn Cyclones.
00:10:16We pulled from his experience to tell us what's going on with the weather.
00:10:20The weather report is important.
00:10:22What's the weather change?
00:10:23It's going to stay in rain until straight through, potentially, the 5 o'clock.
00:10:25All day?
00:10:28Thanks.
00:10:29Thanks.
00:10:31Oh, my goodness.
00:10:32It's even worse out here.
00:10:34All right.
00:10:35100% through the morning, 75% early evening.
00:10:40This was supposed to stay south of us, so.
00:10:44We've got to go in crisis mode here in the next 15, 20 minutes.
00:10:47We've got the real possibility of having a disaster on our hands.
00:10:50Randall's going to have to step up, rise to the occasion, and get it done.
00:10:53All right.
00:10:54Steve, this is looking bad.
00:10:56It's looking bad.
00:10:57If it clears at 11, we could have played by, well, if we played at 12, we could play by 1.
00:11:02At this point, it's going to be a problem.
00:11:05Are you telling me in the next two hours that the sun's going to come out and this whole place is going to heat up?
00:11:09No.
00:11:10The other thing to think about, too, is if you play the game, you know, this is all going to be kind of not the greatest area for your VIPs.
00:11:17They're not going to want to see us outside of this.
00:11:19Yeah, we're going to be moving this thing indoors.
00:11:21The fact of the matter is we didn't have a plan B, and we had to generate plan B right there, right then,
00:11:27and figure out where, given the indoor facilities at Keyspan, we could hold some kind of event.
00:11:32This allows me to put this on my arm.
00:11:34That's kind of cool.
00:11:35Ooh-wee.
00:11:36You know what?
00:11:37This may not be—this could be a good option for you guys.
00:11:39It looks kind of nice.
00:11:41Get rid of the ping-pong table, cover the bathroom with something, and you've got yourself a nice space.
00:11:45Because the game was officially rained out, we ended up cutting out the idea of the silent auction.
00:11:51We decided to have the event indoors in the clubhouse of the ballpark,
00:11:55and we decided just to have the live auction so that the celebrities would almost compete against each other
00:12:00and raise a lot of money for Autism Speaks.
00:12:03We don't expect many people to come from general admission,
00:12:06and therefore we're likely to use this area right up back here.
00:12:15Coming up on the Apprentice finale, the finalists scramble to recover,
00:12:19and later, Donald Trump makes the ultimate boardroom decision live.
00:12:30Oftentimes, things go wrong, and there's just not much you can do about it.
00:12:41But a really good leader will step up, take responsibility, and really just find the right solution.
00:12:49On their final tasks, Randall and Rebecca both had to step up.
00:12:54Check this out.
00:13:01Wow.
00:13:09Like, we're looking at 150 bags, so this is going to take some time.
00:13:13Use every single one of these bags, fill it up.
00:13:16If we run out of something that goes in the bags, come and let me know.
00:13:20I am going to be working on making sure we've got the goodie bags all pulled together
00:13:24so that we can hand those out with donation envelopes from the foundation.
00:13:29See this? This is a pamphlet. These are the envelopes.
00:13:32I'd like them to go in here, and then in the front pocket.
00:13:35Okay, perfect.
00:13:36That's all he's doing.
00:13:37Originally, we had thought about having more of a hands-on approach to obtaining donations at our event.
00:13:43However, given the conversations that we've had with the people of Yahoo,
00:13:48it seems that they're very uncomfortable with any outright solicitation for donations.
00:13:54So instead, what we've done is included a donation envelope to every single person on our VIP list
00:14:00so that they can, in turn, make a donation.
00:14:05Oh, nice. That's even better.
00:14:07How's that?
00:14:08That's even better. That's even better. That's better. That's better.
00:14:10Right?
00:14:11I like that.
00:14:12You like that? And that way we know it's here.
00:14:14Well, you can't control the weather, huh?
00:14:17I can't control it.
00:14:18I thought you could. I thought you could pull it off.
00:14:21Well, set up downstairs. They're in the one room. That's it.
00:14:24Yeah.
00:14:25Jim, I'm Brandon.
00:14:26I'm sorry.
00:14:27Actually, nice to meet you, Brandon.
00:14:28Pleased to meet you, Jim.
00:14:29Heard great things about you from my colleague, Mark.
00:14:30I met with Ben Novello, CEO of Outback, and the commentator, Jim Kerr, from Q104.
00:14:34What about those die-hard fans?
00:14:36I don't know.
00:14:37I met with Ben Novello, CEO of Outback, and the commentator, Jim Kerr, from Q104.
00:14:41What about those die-hard people who decided,
00:14:44all right, so it's rainy, and the wind is blowing, and it's cold,
00:14:48but I don't care. I'm showing up for the softball game anyway.
00:14:50I couldn't have been happier with a kind of MC, commentator, auctioneer.
00:14:55He's like a veteran in the industry.
00:14:57Right now, it's first come, first serve.
00:14:59I mean, it's strictly VIP, and then for those that are from general admission,
00:15:02it's first come, first serve until we see how close we come to capacity of the room.
00:15:07Want to make sure that anybody that makes the trip has a good time.
00:15:10Yeah, absolutely. Absolutely. That makes complete sense.
00:15:15Great, and then we'll have this area open.
00:15:17Yeah, that'll work.
00:15:18This looks good.
00:15:19Talk about banners. What do you want?
00:15:21Well, we could probably do the autism one here.
00:15:23We had so much to do in a very short period of time.
00:15:26Rain or shine, we still needed to have a wonderful fundraising event for Autism Speaks.
00:15:31This is where the celebrities will come as a holding area when they first arrive,
00:15:36so a temp is going to actually bring them back here.
00:15:38There'll be food back here for them as well.
00:15:40Okay.
00:15:41All righty.
00:15:42Looks like there's a ways to go here.
00:15:44I'm concerned that now that the actual event is changing,
00:15:48that Randall will lose sight of the point of the event.
00:15:51Success is defined in my terms as not so much on the logistics,
00:15:56but on making sure that when people are here,
00:15:59how well he incorporates our messaging into the event.
00:16:02To me, that's success.
00:16:04Okay, when we were talking about doing the softball game,
00:16:07I felt there was very good integration of the autism epidemic messaging into the program.
00:16:13First of all, the opening remarks from Mr. Trump, from you, as well as myself, will highlight the issue.
00:16:17Okay.
00:16:18When Jim Kerr comes on, he'll be highlighting statistics as well and kind of setting the stage for the event.
00:16:23In between each of the auction items, Jim Kerr is going to also bring to life something from the brochure that we've printed
00:16:30as it relates to the issue of autism,
00:16:32and also highlighting the fact that the money that we're raising is for the purpose of benefiting Autism Speaks.
00:16:37Is there a little podium built for Jim to use?
00:16:40We're going to check into that. I can check into that.
00:16:42I think they were trying to also get a sound system, possibly.
00:16:46Okay.
00:16:47Allison of Autism Speaks seems very bothered.
00:16:49She's losing faith in maybe my ability to manage this event.
00:16:52We're pulling together the best event we possibly can under an extremely short time frame,
00:16:57and she's not going to get everything she wanted.
00:16:59If there's anything else you need, just let me know. Call me on my cell phone.
00:17:01Okay. Thanks.
00:17:06Ahead, the fire candidates have a lot to say as the Apprentice finale continues live.
00:17:12Live in Newark, New Jersey, where Randall's supporters are raising the roof.
00:17:22And live here in New York City as the Apprentice finale continues.
00:17:33Okay. Let's bring out the other candidates.
00:17:35They all did a fantastic job.
00:17:37You ready for this?
00:17:39Melissa.
00:17:40Chris.
00:17:41Jennifer W.
00:17:43Toral.
00:17:44Oh, Toral.
00:17:45Aye, aye, aye, Toral.
00:17:47Christy.
00:17:48James.
00:17:49Jennifer M.
00:17:50Josh.
00:17:51Mark.
00:17:52Marcus.
00:17:53Marshawn.
00:17:54Brian.
00:17:55Clay.
00:17:56Adam.
00:17:57Felicia.
00:17:58And Ala.
00:18:08Six of these candidates were chosen for these tasks, and we'll hear from them a little bit later.
00:18:14Let's see what happens next.
00:18:16It's pretty good.
00:18:22How cool is it going to be to put that Yahoo sign right there?
00:18:25Right when you're walking down and you get slapped in the face with a Yahoo.
00:18:28What I tried to create in the upstairs room for the VIPs is that when the doors first opened and they first walked in,
00:18:34I wanted the Yahoo logo to smack them right in the face.
00:18:37There we go.
00:18:38Raise it just a little bit.
00:18:39We had Yahoo signage everywhere.
00:18:41Purple this, purple that.
00:18:42And overall, the room is tailor-made and custom-made to give them a great Yahoo experience.
00:18:51Hey.
00:18:52Yeah.
00:18:53We've got to hang this.
00:18:54We are going to find a good place to hang that.
00:18:55They just sent it to us this morning.
00:18:57I was looking at dead center on the bar.
00:18:59There was a part of me that was concerned with the signage that Elizabeth Glazer had at the event.
00:19:03I gave them the best position sign in the place, but it was overshadowed by everything we did for Yahoo.
00:19:24Where's Randall?
00:19:25I think he's upstairs.
00:19:27A couple of details to get ironed out yet.
00:19:29All right.
00:19:30We'll get it, sir.
00:19:31Upstairs is chaos.
00:19:33Martin, Marshawn, and Josh are fighting fires left and right.
00:19:36They're doing the best job that they possibly can.
00:19:38Hey, guys.
00:19:39Is Marshawn upstairs?
00:19:40She could still be up there.
00:19:42Okay.
00:19:43All right.
00:19:45Thank you, guys.
00:19:46Okay.
00:19:49I don't know how I'm keeping it together right now.
00:19:50I mean, I'm just really just trying to stay focused.
00:19:52Anything can go wrong right now.
00:19:53This is absolute chaos.
00:19:54I just want to make sure that there's a very clear system for how if someone makes a donation and gives a check, that it's not lost.
00:20:01Maybe a donation basket and direct them to it.
00:20:04One central place to put them and keep them so that they're not lost.
00:20:07You got it.
00:20:08It's raining, and it's bedlam downstairs, and people are scheduled to arrive in about 45 minutes.
00:20:14I'm a little concerned at this point.
00:20:16You okay with that?
00:20:17Put it right in there?
00:20:19Alex can't.
00:20:20Sure.
00:20:21Randall is surrounded by a great team.
00:20:23We could rise to any challenge, but I think that gives him an element of comfort because he knows when the time comes, we're going to do what it takes to finish up the job for him
00:20:30and hopefully get him this job with Mr. Trump.
00:20:32This is for donations.
00:20:33This I'm going to have Jim announce that any pledge cards goes in the envelope.
00:20:37If you want to put a credit card money order, it comes up here and puts it in here, and then boom, Alex is going to come get it.
00:20:41I did not have to manage Mark, Marshawn, or Josh in any way, shape, or form.
00:20:45If I look at everything that they were given, everything they were given, they got it done.
00:20:50How's it going, considering the weather KO'd you a little bit?
00:20:54The weather really KO'd us.
00:20:56Mark, Josh, and Marshawn have worked 110% for me.
00:20:59I think we're in really good shape right now.
00:21:02You have to be selective and strategic about what's missing critical for me and what do I have to leave to others to take care of, and that's how I approach this task.
00:21:12You're right.
00:21:13I'm Randall Pinkett.
00:21:14I'm the organizer of the event.
00:21:15Very nice to meet you.
00:21:16It's a pleasure to meet you.
00:21:18It's an honor to meet you.
00:21:19It's a pleasure to meet you, Randall.
00:21:20It's so great to meet you.
00:21:21Oh, we are very honored to be organizing this event on behalf of Doctors Who Speaks.
00:21:24Randall, this is your right hand, right?
00:21:26Randall, I'm the organizer of the event.
00:21:27Pleased to meet you.
00:21:28Nice to meet you.
00:21:29Is this Gary Epona?
00:21:30How about me?
00:21:31Randall.
00:21:32Yeah, I was hoping to play some baseball, but I guess it's not going to happen.
00:21:36No, not in this weather, unless you want to get wet and dirty.
00:21:39I can get wet and dirty.
00:21:40Come on.
00:21:41That's my specialty.
00:21:42Yeah, basically right now, I mean, the pieces of the puzzle are all coming together.
00:21:46I like that.
00:21:48I like that.
00:22:01Carolyn, I'd like to welcome you to our event.
00:22:04How are you?
00:22:05Very well.
00:22:06How are things?
00:22:07Things are going well.
00:22:08It's a bit of a Yahoo'd out event.
00:22:09We have Yahoo teenies.
00:22:11We have Yahoo inspired blinking ice cubes.
00:22:14We have Yahoo inspired screens throughout the event.
00:22:18What do you have for the AIDS Foundation?
00:22:20For the AIDS Foundation, we have this sign.
00:22:24And Jake Glaser, the spokesperson for the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation,
00:22:29will speak to the crowd.
00:22:31The point of this event, obviously, is to entertain the Yahoo clients,
00:22:34but inevitably raise money for the Pediatric AIDS Foundation.
00:22:38And I'm thinking that maybe she might have missed the boat on this one a little bit.
00:22:41Later on this evening, we will transition to the downstairs.
00:22:45There will be a comedy event.
00:22:47It's still early in the game.
00:22:48Maybe she has a plan down the road in order to make some money for this.
00:22:52I certainly hope she does.
00:22:53Sure.
00:22:55Well, I'm not going to keep you.
00:22:56All right, great.
00:22:57Help yourself to something nice.
00:23:12Randall from Excel.
00:23:14Randall?
00:23:15Yes.
00:23:16I got a call telling me that Mr. Trump is arriving in the Trump helicopter.
00:23:20So the minute I heard it, I ran out the door.
00:23:22All right, Mr. Trump.
00:23:23I'm coming outside right now.
00:23:27I mean, the last thing you want is for him to be floating around
00:23:30without someone there to escort him and give him kind of a big picture.
00:23:34Hey, Randall.
00:23:35Hello, Mr. Trump.
00:23:36Good.
00:23:37How's it going?
00:23:38So far, so good.
00:23:39So you think the weather was bad enough?
00:23:41Not too bad, right?
00:23:42No.
00:23:43You don't think you could have had the softball game?
00:23:45Most of the celebrities didn't want to play in this weather.
00:23:47Yeah.
00:23:48I can't blame them.
00:23:49I have a couple of simple bullet points prepared for you.
00:23:51A bullet point?
00:23:52Yeah.
00:23:53All right.
00:23:54All right.
00:23:55All right.
00:23:56All right.
00:23:57All right.
00:23:58All right.
00:23:59All right.
00:24:00All right.
00:24:01All right.
00:24:02So I have a couple of bullet points prepared for you.
00:24:03OK.
00:24:04I can review them with you in the holding.
00:24:05Good.
00:24:06Let's do it.
00:24:07This is the last opportunity to show and prove to Mr. Trump what I'm made of.
00:24:09This is the charity Autism Speaks.
00:24:13Great charity.
00:24:14Yes.
00:24:15I want Mr. Trump to know without any question what I've accomplished,
00:24:19my track record, how I've stood out from amongst all the other candidates.
00:24:22If Rebecca's crossed all of her T's and dotted all of her I's,
00:24:25that just makes it that much more difficult for me.
00:24:27Let's go.
00:24:28OK.
00:24:29Sounds good.
00:24:31Coming up, Randall's got a solution, but will Donald Trump buy it?
00:24:35And later, the next apprentice is hired.
00:24:38There you go.
00:25:00Wonderful.
00:25:02The reason why we're here this afternoon is to raise money
00:25:05and raise awareness for the organization Autism Speaks.
00:25:08I'll be the first to admit and the first to say that I was not at all aware
00:25:14or familiar with the extent to which autism has become
00:25:18and is becoming a very prevalent issue and a very prevalent problem,
00:25:22not just in the U.S., but, in fact, internationally.
00:25:25When you look at the rate of incidents against the money being provided for this issue,
00:25:30there's just no comparison in terms of the support that this issue deserves,
00:25:34but it's simply not getting.
00:25:36Randall took the stage and he turned into a rock star for autism.
00:25:39He did.
00:25:40Here you could see that in a carnival atmosphere
00:25:43that there is a genuine man that's committed to autism and the lives that it affects.
00:25:48So I think it was very moving.
00:25:49I think he did an outstanding job.
00:25:51It was a very powerful experience for me to hear the stories of mothers and of fathers
00:25:56whose children were born with autism and never may grow up to have the ability to say
00:26:01I love you to their parents.
00:26:02I mean, very powerful images.
00:26:05I think I speak on my team when I say that we have taken it as our responsibility
00:26:09to raise awareness for autism and to raise money for autism,
00:26:13and that's really why we're here today.
00:26:15Along those same lines, we all know Donald Trump to be the billionaire,
00:26:18to be the individual who is involved in many, many facets of business,
00:26:22but we also know Mr. Trump to be a humanitarian
00:26:25and somebody who's also concerned about important causes.
00:26:28And so I'd like to bring him forward to make a few remarks.
00:26:32Thank you, Randall.
00:26:33Thank you, everybody, for coming out.
00:26:35And, Randall, congratulations.
00:26:37It looks like you have it well under control.
00:26:39Come here, Randall.
00:26:40Good. Thank you.
00:26:42I would say there is absolutely a parallel between Mr. Trump and Randall
00:26:46on so many levels.
00:26:47I mean, on this charity, it was real.
00:26:50It wasn't scripted.
00:26:51It wasn't rehearsed.
00:26:53It was real.
00:26:54That was Randall.
00:26:55That was Randall Raw.
00:26:58We have a terrific group of celebrities.
00:27:01Would you welcome Sugar Ray Leonard, the champ?
00:27:07Currently starring in Crossing Jordan.
00:27:09Would you welcome Jerry O'Connell?
00:27:14Another great athlete, Jerome Williams.
00:27:18Mr. Williams.
00:27:20Are Carson and Tom here?
00:27:21There they are.
00:27:23Dear I for the straight guy.
00:27:25Thank you so much for coming.
00:27:28Let's start with the boxing gloves.
00:27:29Personalized and autographed by Sugar Ray Leonard.
00:27:31We've got $500.
00:27:33Can you go to $600?
00:27:34I've got $550 in the back.
00:27:35Can you go to $600?
00:27:36We've got $600.
00:27:37We're at $650.
00:27:38Will you go to $700?
00:27:39$700.
00:27:40Will you go to $800?
00:27:41We're at $800.
00:27:42Will you go to $900?
00:27:43We're at $900.
00:27:44$1,000.
00:27:46I think Randall has good organizational skills.
00:27:48And he was able to pull all the team members together
00:27:51and he was able to execute a successful event.
00:27:54And most importantly, the people who are here understand now
00:27:57that autism really has reached epidemic proportions.
00:28:00$3,000, Mr. Williams.
00:28:06Please give another round of applause to Mr. Trump.
00:28:08Thank you for coming out this afternoon.
00:28:10Bye, everybody.
00:28:29We're setting up the gift bags up here so as people depart,
00:28:31they can take one with them.
00:28:32And what Yahoo Media tchotchkes did you include in the gift bags?
00:28:36We've included either a sweatshirt or a T-shirt.
00:28:39We've included a beach towel, a Yahoo backpack, and a Yahoo hat.
00:28:43And then we wanted to make sure that something from the foundation
00:28:47was included in those gift bags.
00:28:49And how did you end up handling that?
00:28:51We will not be asking for any donations throughout the night.
00:28:54We just put a simple brochure as well as an envelope
00:28:58inside that brochure in the event that someone would like to do something with it.
00:29:01We did come up with a way to raise funds
00:29:03for the Elizabeth Glazer Pediatric AIDS Foundation,
00:29:06and that way was through information and envelopes
00:29:10in everyone's gift bag as they left the event.
00:29:13These were people with deep pockets who hopefully,
00:29:16when they leave after they've had a wonderful night
00:29:18and they take a look at the information,
00:29:20they have a donation envelope where they can send that in.
00:29:28This is Rebecca.
00:29:29Rebecca?
00:29:30Yes?
00:29:31I think what I'm going to do, Rebecca, is head on down there now,
00:29:36and I'll see you in a little while.
00:29:38Am I going to be impressed or am I going to be disappointed?
00:29:41I believe that you will be very impressed.
00:29:43This is a wonderful event.
00:29:44Okay, that sounds very good.
00:29:46Well, I'm coming down. I'll see you later.
00:29:47Wonderful. See you soon, Mr. Trump.
00:29:49Thank you, Rebecca.
00:29:50Thank you. Bye-bye.
00:29:53Coming up, at Rebecca's comedy event,
00:29:55it turns out the joke's on George,
00:29:57and later, someone will be named the new apprentice, live.
00:30:08Always treat your boss with great respect.
00:30:16It makes you look good, and it makes somebody like me, me,
00:30:20do you understand, me, the boss, feel even better.
00:30:24So let's see how Rebecca handled me.
00:30:27Did she do well? Did she do poorly?
00:30:29Take a look.
00:30:31Noel, where are we? Where is this place?
00:30:34Rebecca better be doing a good job.
00:30:36This place is hard to find.
00:30:38Doing this event has been so much fun,
00:30:40and there's so many wonderful things about Yahoo
00:30:43that we've tried to incorporate into it.
00:30:45The Elizabeth Glazer Pediatric AIDS Foundation
00:30:48will really benefit from this night,
00:30:50so thank you so much.
00:30:52Enjoy.
00:30:55After the event,
00:30:56After Wenda, we're going to have Pete jump in
00:30:59and just do a quick bit, all right?
00:31:02Whatever it is, and we're going to have Jake as well
00:31:04jump up there with you, so it's going to be Wenda.
00:31:06Whoa, this is all new.
00:31:08Okay, let's definitely talk to this guy.
00:31:10I'm confused.
00:31:11Okay, now, we want you up there on stage
00:31:13because you are the emcee, all right?
00:31:15After she introduces Jake, she'll go ahead and go to you.
00:31:18So there's going to be three people standing on stage.
00:31:20I kind of think Wenda should introduce Pete.
00:31:23There should be some poignancy around the introduction.
00:31:26That's fine.
00:31:27I should be on stage and having people go,
00:31:29Who's that guy in the slushy outfit?
00:31:31That's right.
00:31:32Or whatever.
00:31:46Hello, Rebecca.
00:31:47Welcome.
00:31:48How are you?
00:31:49Good.
00:31:51Hello, Rebecca.
00:31:52Welcome.
00:31:53How are you?
00:31:54Nice seeing you.
00:31:55Nice to see you, too.
00:31:56Everything all right?
00:31:57Things are going great.
00:31:58We're in the middle of the VIP Lounge event,
00:32:01which will last until about 7 p.m.
00:32:03Okay, good.
00:32:04Let's go.
00:32:05Let's go.
00:32:06All right.
00:32:07So, first of all, depending on how long you plan to stay,
00:32:10I can show you more of the event.
00:32:12No, that's okay.
00:32:13Let's get the event started.
00:32:14Sure.
00:32:15Well, would you like to say something to the people here?
00:32:17Sure, whatever you'd like.
00:32:18All right, that's wonderful.
00:32:19If I could have your attention for a moment,
00:32:21I'd just like to welcome you all to this wonderful evening,
00:32:25and I'd like to introduce you to Donald Trump.
00:32:29Thank you, Rebecca.
00:32:33Well, it's a great honor to be helping and contributing
00:32:37to the Elizabeth Glaser AIDS Foundation.
00:32:40Where are the folks from the foundation?
00:32:42Kate Parr and Jake Glaser.
00:32:43Come on over.
00:32:44They have done an amazing job, so it is just an honor,
00:32:47and I understand you're doing a good job.
00:32:49So, good luck.
00:32:50Thank you so much, Mr. Trump.
00:32:51Let's see what we have.
00:32:52We have a little comedy, a couple of comedy routines.
00:32:54Come on, let's go.
00:32:57I really expected Mr. Trump to come up and say a few words to the VIPs.
00:33:01I didn't expect him to tell people that they should follow him
00:33:05downstairs for the comedy event.
00:33:07Trump got people going downstairs for our comedy event
00:33:1130 minutes before we anticipated its start.
00:33:14It is kind of humorous that out of all the things,
00:33:16Trump ended up being the biggest wild card.
00:33:18Call up to James and get the emcee to come down here.
00:33:21We'll have the emcee run in from the group
00:33:23and hop up on stage if he can.
00:33:25Great. James.
00:33:27The one thing I really respect about Rebecca
00:33:29is that you never will see that Rebecca is under pressure.
00:33:34You never see her sweating.
00:33:36I mean, the best thing Rebecca has done in this entire process
00:33:39is organize, and that's what every good manager does.
00:33:42They organize, they assemble their team,
00:33:44they delegate responsibility, and then they execute.
00:33:46Go ahead, Rebecca.
00:33:47I'm trying to find Jake. He's the presenter.
00:33:49He's upstairs.
00:33:50Okay, go get him. Can you run up and grab him
00:33:52and bring him down here immediately? Thank you.
00:33:55Make sure people are aware that we're going to start the show any minute.
00:33:58Come on in. I can crack a joke or two if you want to.
00:34:01Wait, wait, wait. Whoa, whoa, whoa.
00:34:02Are you going to put me on right now?
00:34:04In a couple minutes here, yeah.
00:34:05One of the major concerns of the whole event
00:34:07was to get 300 people from upstairs to downstairs in about five minutes.
00:34:10Mr. Trump came, and within about two minutes,
00:34:13he got those people downstairs.
00:34:15So I had to make these comedians and MC ready to go, ready for their show.
00:34:19They're upstairs practicing their routine,
00:34:21and all of a sudden, hey, guys, I know it's supposed to be 7.15 start time.
00:34:25Now it's 6.50, 7 o'clock start time.
00:34:27It doesn't go well with comedians.
00:34:29Wait, you want me to go on right now and make some kind of weird announcement?
00:34:32No, pretty much just, hey, guys, the show's going to start any minute here.
00:34:35Why don't you do that?
00:34:36I can if you want me to.
00:34:37Yeah. You shouldn't see me before I go on the first time.
00:34:39Okay. Gotcha.
00:34:40If you could just come on in, take every single seat,
00:34:42try not to leave any empties, and we'll have a great show.
00:34:45Just a minute. Thank you.
00:34:46What do you think?
00:34:48I don't know yet. It's a little interesting.
00:34:50Might be a little bit disorganized, right?
00:34:56Coming up, can Rebecca recover?
00:34:58And later, the finalists defend their decisions live on stage at Lincoln Center.
00:35:10We are very, very happy to have with us this evening Jake Glaser.
00:35:28It is truly an honor for me to be here.
00:35:30When I look out and see this many people coming together for a great cause,
00:35:35I know that I can honestly say, because I am my mother's son,
00:35:38that she would be very happy.
00:35:39She's smiling down as I'm speaking here to you.
00:35:44And I'm looking forward to each and every comic coming up here,
00:35:47and I hope you all enjoy the evening as much as I'm going to.
00:35:54Now it is a real pleasure to introduce to you Pete Dominick.
00:35:58He's a really popular guy.
00:36:00So, Pete, where are you?
00:36:02Thank you very much. I want to thank you. Thank you.
00:36:04How many Yahoo's are here tonight?
00:36:06That means you're an employee of Yahoo.
00:36:08Yahoo's.
00:36:09Did anybody, that one guy's like, I am a Yahoo.
00:36:11I would like to raise my hand and let you know.
00:36:14How many, did anybody have a Yahoo teeny?
00:36:16That was so cute that they named, yeah, it was good?
00:36:19You had a Yahoo teeny?
00:36:20It's a little bit feminine, I got to tell you.
00:36:22It's a little bit of a feminine drink.
00:36:23What if you're comfortable with your sexuality?
00:36:25Sure, I don't think that's a problem.
00:36:26And you look like you are.
00:36:27You've been to Europe?
00:36:28Yeah.
00:36:29Yeah, during the war.
00:36:30And, oh, 1492.
00:36:34Pete just went on and on and on ripping George Ross.
00:36:38And there was a point when I was thinking, stop.
00:36:41It's enough.
00:36:43The man has laughed.
00:36:44You've effectively ripped this man
00:36:48who is judging the outcome of my team leader.
00:36:51Stop ripping George Ross.
00:36:53He's laughing, it's okay.
00:36:54It's a smile that I know is going to kill me.
00:36:57Hey guys.
00:36:59I'm pulling together upstairs the gift bag handout,
00:37:02and I'm making sure that that's all organized
00:37:04so that when people do walk out, it's ready to go.
00:37:07Awesome.
00:37:08Hey, also, put a smile on your face
00:37:09because George is down here folded over in his seat
00:37:12laughing so hard.
00:37:13That's outstanding.
00:37:15You're married to a George, right?
00:37:16How long are you married for?
00:37:1753 years.
00:37:1853 years.
00:37:20Do you guys live together?
00:37:21Yeah.
00:37:22Yeah, because it would be a lot easier if you did.
00:37:24You and your wife have a nice Valentine's Day?
00:37:26Yeah.
00:37:27Yeah.
00:37:28Would you guys go to Applebee's?
00:37:29It's a good place.
00:37:30It is a good place.
00:37:31It's in Africa.
00:37:32Africa.
00:37:33Wow.
00:37:34How do you top that?
00:37:35You ever do any role playing for your wife?
00:37:38No, you've never dressed up like a maid
00:37:39or anything like that for her?
00:37:42It'd be nice, you know, keep it fresh.
00:37:44You guys have been a nice crowd.
00:37:45Thanks a lot.
00:37:48Jim Florentine, everybody.
00:37:49Jim Florentine.
00:37:50Come on.
00:37:51Keep it going.
00:37:52Keep it going.
00:37:55Look at the balloons.
00:37:56They're pretty.
00:37:57Oh, it looks so good.
00:37:58It looks so good.
00:37:59It does, it's a good touch.
00:38:00I've developed some really true friendships,
00:38:01people that I admire and I respect.
00:38:02I mean, Marshawn, Josh, and Mark
00:38:04stepped up to bat for me in a big, big way.
00:38:07You got it, man.
00:38:08Thanks, man.
00:38:09Anything for you, bro.
00:38:10Bye, Randy.
00:38:11Little sis.
00:38:12Uh-uh, you're the little brother.
00:38:13Little sis.
00:38:14Thank you for everything.
00:38:15You're welcome.
00:38:17Much.
00:38:18Much.
00:38:19I can't repay you for this, bro.
00:38:21No, please.
00:38:22My pleasure.
00:38:23The fact is, I cherish this last task
00:38:25because it was a rare opportunity
00:38:27to kind of recapture
00:38:28what I thought was really magical
00:38:30about my working relationship
00:38:31with each of them individually.
00:38:33All right, brother.
00:38:34All right.
00:38:41I don't think words can really capture
00:38:43the kind of gratitude that I feel
00:38:45in seeing how hard they worked for me
00:38:47when that's all they had going
00:38:49was just that they wanted to see me succeed.
00:38:53After the event, you know, I felt humbled
00:38:56because I'd had the opportunity
00:38:57to work on behalf of those at the front lines
00:38:59of trying to address autism.
00:39:01And I felt relief
00:39:02because from the outdoor event
00:39:04to the indoor event,
00:39:06just the chaos of trying to pull that together,
00:39:08I just felt relief that it was all done.
00:39:18Thank you so much for coming out here
00:39:20to support such an unbelievable charity,
00:39:22the Elizabeth Glazer Pediatric Aids Foundation,
00:39:25and thank you, Yahoo.
00:39:27Good night. Thank you very much.
00:39:28Thanks for coming, everyone. Thank you.
00:39:33Have a good night.
00:39:34Have a lovely evening.
00:39:36Towards the end of the event,
00:39:37I was making sure that everybody who came
00:39:40was thanked for coming,
00:39:42that they enjoyed themselves,
00:39:43and also organized the final exit from the event
00:39:47so that we had all of our staff members
00:39:49handing out Yahoo gift bags
00:39:51with the Elizabeth Glazer Foundation information in them.
00:39:54Good job, guys.
00:39:55Thank you so much.
00:39:56Absolutely. Congratulations.
00:39:58I think we definitely rose awareness for the charity.
00:40:01Everyone who was at the event
00:40:02either said they loved their night,
00:40:04or they also said,
00:40:05I'm really happy that we're here
00:40:06to support this foundation.
00:40:10It was a good comedy night.
00:40:12Every touch, the purple and the white,
00:40:14the Yahoo colors,
00:40:15the drinks called Yahoo Teenies,
00:40:17the ice cubes that were purple,
00:40:19I think they didn't miss a trick.
00:40:21It really was a very professional job.
00:40:23I need to make a toast to you guys.
00:40:25Absolutely.
00:40:26Thank you so much.
00:40:27Thank you so very much.
00:40:30I couldn't have done this without them,
00:40:32and I was extremely proud of everything
00:40:35that they had done to make this work.
00:40:37No regrets?
00:40:38No regrets.
00:40:39No regrets whatsoever.
00:40:41And you're golden.
00:40:42I loved it,
00:40:43and I loved working with the people
00:40:44who are sitting here.
00:40:45Get me the hell out of here.
00:40:48Yeah!
00:40:50I wish I could do something
00:40:52for James, Chris, and Toril,
00:40:54because they really came through for me,
00:40:56and win or lose,
00:40:57I know at the end of the day
00:40:59that these people gave absolutely everything
00:41:01for me and for my benefit.
00:41:17music plays
00:41:33Crazy day.
00:41:34Mm-hmm.
00:41:35Crazy day.
00:41:36It was good, though.
00:41:37Oh yeah, it was really good.
00:41:39I'm still tired, but it was a good day.
00:41:41When Randall and I were sitting together in the suite,
00:41:44we talked about our previous tasks
00:41:46and went over the good times and the bad times
00:41:49and talked about a lot of the tasks
00:41:51where we worked together
00:41:52and how much fun it was to work together as a team.
00:41:55Just take this thing out with a bang,
00:41:57and I couldn't think of a better person
00:41:59to square off in.
00:42:00I agree.
00:42:01In the last task.
00:42:02I think we have enough respect for one another
00:42:04to know that we're both very qualified to be here,
00:42:07and no matter what,
00:42:08we're both going to feel proud of the other one
00:42:11and proud of ourselves
00:42:12for all the work we've put into this.
00:42:14You know, if I had a pick
00:42:15of who I would have wanted in the finals,
00:42:17it would have definitely been you.
00:42:19Likewise, it would have been you.
00:42:20I think at this point, you know,
00:42:21whatever's going to happen is going to happen.
00:42:23Let the chips fall.
00:42:24Yeah, yeah, yeah.
00:42:38Yes, I'll have the spinach quiche and a Coke, please.
00:42:42The omelette au fromage.
00:42:43Rebecca and I met up at a little cafe in New York,
00:42:45and it was really good to connect with her
00:42:47and to hear about her experience,
00:42:48share mine, and just share some final parting thoughts
00:42:51before we go into this last border.
00:42:53So what have you learned throughout the process?
00:42:55Wow.
00:42:56What's the difference between Rebecca 13 weeks ago
00:42:58and Rebecca now?
00:42:59One of the most major things has obviously been my ankle.
00:43:03I haven't ever had to overcome something
00:43:05that was so in your face, so out of my control,
00:43:08and I've learned that I can face it.
00:43:11Uh-huh.
00:43:12How about you?
00:43:13The worst moment for me was my grandmother passing.
00:43:16She meant a lot to me and my family,
00:43:18and it was hard being here,
00:43:19knowing that they were dealing with that back home.
00:43:22Seeing you go through that
00:43:23and the fact that you carried yourself
00:43:25with so much dignity and integrity
00:43:27throughout this process,
00:43:28I respect that very much.
00:43:31You've done the same.
00:43:32I mean, I'm amazed.
00:43:33I mean, to get through 13 weeks,
00:43:3412 of which you had a broken ankle,
00:43:37I have a lot of respect for you.
00:43:40And it's almost over, so cheers.
00:43:42Cheers.
00:43:49Coming up, the final tasks are done,
00:43:51but the final boardroom is just beginning.
00:43:54The Apprentice finale, live when we return.
00:44:03Got the winter blues?
00:44:04We've got the cure.
00:44:06Jack's back.
00:44:07Josh Bauer's dead.
00:44:08What's going on here, Frank?
00:44:09It's Jack Bauer.
00:44:10The Escape continues with new episodes of...
00:44:35This is it.
00:44:36This is the end of the process.
00:44:37There's one last opportunity
00:44:38for me to show Mr. Trump
00:44:39that I deserve to be his next Apprentice,
00:44:41so that Mr. Trump has no question
00:44:43who his next Apprentice should be.
00:44:44Me.
00:44:48The characteristics about me
00:44:50that have driven me to this point
00:44:52are drive, passion, intelligence,
00:44:55and an attitude that nothing is out of my bounds.
00:45:01I certainly have more experience than Rebecca.
00:45:03I mean, she's only 23 years old,
00:45:05and she has a lot ahead of her.
00:45:06I definitely am bringing more to the table
00:45:08as far as my life and work experiences versus hers.
00:45:12I will convey to Mr. Trump
00:45:13that I have broader business experience
00:45:15than anyone else in this entire job interview process,
00:45:18including Miranda.
00:45:20I had a 3-0 record.
00:45:21I earned the respect of everyone in the suite.
00:45:24Every opportunity a team had a chance to draft somebody,
00:45:27they drafted me.
00:45:28I'm ready to fight for this position.
00:45:30This could be the toughest boardroom
00:45:32out of all the boardrooms ever.
00:45:36♪♪♪
00:45:46♪♪♪
00:45:58Would you both please have a seat on the sofa?
00:46:01♪♪♪
00:46:14Let's go right into the boardroom.
00:46:16♪♪♪
00:46:26♪♪♪
00:46:36♪♪♪
00:46:47Well, thank you for your time and effort.
00:46:49I hope you enjoyed it.
00:46:51Josh, what did you think of Randall as a leader?
00:46:53I think Randall was a phenomenal leader.
00:46:55He was always grounded.
00:46:56He remained very calm in the eye of the storm.
00:46:59Pun intended there.
00:47:01Mark, when I got there, you could have played softball.
00:47:04Even though it wasn't raining at the time you may have arrived,
00:47:07I don't think it would have been the right setting
00:47:09to really brand autism.
00:47:10It would have taken away from the charity.
00:47:12You probably would have raised less money.
00:47:14Yes.
00:47:15I think you actually raised more money doing it this way.
00:47:17Do you know how much money you raised?
00:47:18Had to be over $5,000, my guess is.
00:47:21How about over $11,000?
00:47:22Wow.
00:47:23Wow.
00:47:24Now, Chris, how much did Rebecca raise?
00:47:26Do you know?
00:47:27No, sir.
00:47:28Toro?
00:47:29Well, we did not raise any money at the event because...
00:47:31But wasn't the event for raising money?
00:47:33Actually, the Yahoo executives,
00:47:35they do not want us to overtly ask for donations.
00:47:37Oh, that's nice.
00:47:38How are you going to get the money?
00:47:39Well, we placed pamphlets
00:47:41as well as donation envelopes in the goody bags.
00:47:43Mr. Trump, the words directly out of the executive's mouth to me was,
00:47:47we've got clients there that spend tens of millions of dollars with Yahoo.
00:47:49We don't want to say, come to our VIP party
00:47:51and then, you know, spend more money.
00:47:53Wait a minute, let me just answer.
00:47:54Who's running the affair?
00:47:55Yahoo or you?
00:47:56You're running the affair.
00:47:57So at this point, I don't understand.
00:47:59Yahoo may have made their request desired,
00:48:02but you listened like it was gospel.
00:48:05We all as a team managed the task to the best of our ability.
00:48:09We put on a show that we think went phenomenally well.
00:48:12The Yahoo executives were so pleased
00:48:14and as a result, we feel that we were very successful.
00:48:17But in the meantime, Elizabeth Glazier, the foundation, got nothing.
00:48:20And I don't think that's right.
00:48:21If I were Yahoo, I would make a major contribution
00:48:25to the Elizabeth Glazier AIDS Foundation.
00:48:28May I interject?
00:48:29Yes.
00:48:30From Randall's perspective,
00:48:31prior to us meeting with the CEO of Autism Speaks,
00:48:34we were taking the same direction
00:48:36and after her passionate introduction of autism,
00:48:39we immediately went from just a charity softball event
00:48:42to raising money and talking auction
00:48:44and working with her on how we could raise money
00:48:46and that was Randall's decision and it was a great one.
00:48:48If I may talk about Rebecca's style,
00:48:50I had not worked with Rebecca up to this point,
00:48:52so coming into this, I had no idea what my leader was going to be like.
00:48:56Rebecca proved herself to be a very effective manager.
00:48:59She was excellent throughout this entire process.
00:49:01But don't you think, out of fairness,
00:49:03the other final two,
00:49:04don't you think it's about going above and beyond
00:49:06and don't you think that Rebecca should have had to go,
00:49:08she knows she's the final two against Randall.
00:49:09Rebecca went above and beyond in her management style.
00:49:12I disagree.
00:49:13She proved to me that she was an effective and strong leader.
00:49:16I don't work for someone I do not respect.
00:49:18I will sell out for someone I do respect.
00:49:20Rebecca proved herself to me
00:49:22that she can be a great manager and a great executive.
00:49:25Let me ask you a question.
00:49:26You know both.
00:49:27You know Rebecca well.
00:49:28Yes.
00:49:29And you know Randall.
00:49:30Who's better?
00:49:31Randall, without a doubt, because Randall's smart,
00:49:33he's strategic and he's successful.
00:49:35Is Rebecca not smart?
00:49:37I'm not taking anything away from Rebecca,
00:49:39but you're asking me who's better
00:49:40and I think Randall's education distinguishes him from Rebecca by far.
00:49:45Randall's education distinguishes him from other educated people,
00:49:48there's no doubt about that,
00:49:49but you can't absolutely say his education makes him better.
00:49:52I think Rebecca's very smart too.
00:49:54Let's actually talk about the event,
00:49:56because I thought Rebecca actually handled the event portion very well.
00:50:01I think she kept with the brand name with Yahoo,
00:50:04the Yahoo teenies, the color, the ice cubes.
00:50:07I thought all of that was great.
00:50:09I don't, I can't say the same for your event.
00:50:12You had rain.
00:50:13Why didn't you check the weather forecast?
00:50:15If I'm going to have a party in my backyard,
00:50:17I'm going to check the weather forecast.
00:50:19The fact that we were able to pull off an event
00:50:22without having a plan B and still raise $11,000
00:50:25shows that he has good leadership.
00:50:27I understand this, but I'm talking in a business sense,
00:50:29and not have a plan B is bad business.
00:50:32I do think you have a very fair point.
00:50:33I think not having a plan B baked was a mistake,
00:50:36but I do believe, and I've said before,
00:50:37it's not the obstacles you face, how they face them.
00:50:39He faced it phenomenally and we executed a good event.
00:50:42What do you think Randall did wrong?
00:50:43He made a few mistakes.
00:50:44We didn't check the weather as frequently as we should have.
00:50:46That's one.
00:50:47Period.
00:50:48Second one, we probably didn't manage the timetable
00:50:50as well as we should have.
00:50:51Two.
00:50:52And then maybe a third would be that we could have
00:50:54had a plan B baked out sooner.
00:50:56Any others?
00:50:57No.
00:50:58Because I'll give you a couple.
00:50:59You had celebrities there and I was in the audience
00:51:02and I didn't recognize any of the celebrities
00:51:04because I didn't know where they were.
00:51:06If you've got celebrities there,
00:51:07aren't they entitled to a certain amount of recognition?
00:51:11So put them up on the stage.
00:51:12George, to your point, we discussed that this was to be about autism
00:51:16and not the celebrities.
00:51:17We wanted the celebrities there.
00:51:18We wanted them there for the auction
00:51:19and I specifically worked with Jim Kerr
00:51:21and said please introduce them and play them up in the auction
00:51:23as much as possible.
00:51:24But to your point, it wasn't that, but it was about autism.
00:51:26Let me ask you one other question about Randall.
00:51:28He seems like a low-key guy.
00:51:31Josh, what do you think?
00:51:32Does he have the personality to be successful
00:51:36in probably the most vicious city in the world?
00:51:40I think Randall has an outstanding resume on the book side.
00:51:43But I have to say, he's very balanced
00:51:44and has a phenomenal instinct and whole intuition.
00:51:47The question is, is he tough enough to make it in New York City?
00:51:50And I think the answer is absolutely.
00:51:52He is tough enough to make it in New York City
00:51:53and survive and thrive in your organization.
00:51:55Now I'll also say from Rebecca's standpoint, she's tough.
00:52:00When she stuck up for you, Toro,
00:52:02everybody was upset and couldn't get it and didn't get it,
00:52:06but I got it.
00:52:07I understood it.
00:52:08And it was very dangerous for her to do that,
00:52:10but she showed great loyalty and toughness.
00:52:13Mr. Trump, her loyalty and integrity are unmatched.
00:52:16I loved it. I loved it.
00:52:17Mr. Trump, if I may speak for Rebecca at this time,
00:52:20this is someone I have seen from start to finish.
00:52:23I was there when her ankle was broken
00:52:25and I was in the hospital room with her.
00:52:27She was extremely hurt.
00:52:28I know she wanted to cry, but she didn't,
00:52:31despite the tremendous pain she has been in
00:52:34through one of the most stressful competitions there can be.
00:52:38She's done it with tremendous grace,
00:52:40and that also is a great example of someone
00:52:43who can lead an organization very, very well.
00:52:45I think Rebecca is a better human being than I am.
00:52:48Rebecca is 23 years old, and nothing phases that woman.
00:52:53We went from having a 10 on a scale of 1 to 10 in our event
00:52:56to our emcee canceling on us.
00:52:57Our event went from a 10 to a 3.
00:52:59How did she handle the union problem?
00:53:01She brushed it off her shoulder and we moved forward.
00:53:03Rebecca absolutely performed in this task.
00:53:05From start to finish in every aspect,
00:53:07she's the oldest 23-year-old woman I've ever met in my life.
00:53:09So basically, I am stuck with two stars,
00:53:14and I want to thank you because you're all stars also.
00:53:17Really.
00:53:19Have a good time.
00:53:20Thank you both.
00:54:04What people say in the suite doesn't matter to me.
00:54:07It doesn't mean a damn thing.
00:54:09Everything changes in the boardroom.
00:54:11Take a look at this.
00:54:17Robin, bring them in.
00:54:19Rebecca and Randall, Mr. Trump will see you both now.
00:54:35You're welcome.
00:54:49Randall, why do you deserve to work for me?
00:54:52Mr. Trump, I believe I deserve to work for you
00:54:54because I believe I've distinguished myself over the past 13 weeks.
00:54:57I've had an undefeated record.
00:54:59I think in the eyes of my peers,
00:55:01when given a chance to choose someone from another team,
00:55:03they chose me.
00:55:04Exemptions twice.
00:55:06And I believe my track record, my experience,
00:55:08my academic background, and my professional accomplishments.
00:55:11Go ahead, Rebecca.
00:55:12Why?
00:55:13Why do you deserve to work for me?
00:55:14Mr. Trump, you've seen me over these last 13 weeks,
00:55:17and you've distinguished me as an individual with loyalty, with honesty.
00:55:21I've gone against the grain, and I'm not afraid to do that, Mr. Trump.
00:55:24I'm not afraid to stand up for what I believe in.
00:55:26But beyond all of the things that I've stood for here,
00:55:29as an individual,
00:55:30to go through the majority of these last 13 weeks with a broken ankle,
00:55:34the fact that I have been consistently touted by executives,
00:55:38by my team members,
00:55:39even in times when my team has lost,
00:55:41I've been touted by executives and by my team members.
00:55:44So, Randall, you greeted me at the helicopter.
00:55:47You did not greet me, by the way, Rebecca, at my car.
00:55:50I guess just blame your ankle,
00:55:52but you should have delegated somebody to be there
00:55:54to meet the person, whoever the person is.
00:55:56In this case, it happened to me.
00:55:58Don't you think?
00:55:59I agree with you, Mr. Trump.
00:56:00Randall, I would have thought that you could have found a better room
00:56:04than the room we had.
00:56:06It was pretty bad.
00:56:07There was no better room in the building that was available to us.
00:56:10It rained pretty much all day, and it was cold all day.
00:56:13I don't think the celebrities or the VIPs would have appreciated being outside.
00:56:17Randall, how much did you raise for Autism Speaks?
00:56:21I don't know.
00:56:22I know it was $11,000.
00:56:24That was $11,000 more than Rebecca raised, wasn't it?
00:56:27Why didn't you raise money?
00:56:30We didn't raise money because we were explicitly told
00:56:32by the Yahoo executives prior to the event
00:56:35that they felt extremely uncomfortable with us asking any of the VIPs,
00:56:40any of the individuals that they had invited
00:56:42to their Yahoo All-Star Comedy benefit.
00:56:45It seems to me that you should have come up with something else
00:56:47to raise money for a charity event.
00:56:50Why didn't you put as much concern into the charity as you did for Yahoo?
00:56:55Because the entire time I was trying to please my client,
00:56:58and I apparently made a mistake.
00:57:00But who was your client?
00:57:01Is Yahoo your client? I don't think so.
00:57:04In my estimation, the client for this task was actually the charity.
00:57:07I think so.
00:57:08The charity was the same client.
00:57:09I think that Elizabeth Glazier was the client,
00:57:11much more so than Yahoo,
00:57:13and I still think you should have raised money.
00:57:16And so do you, right?
00:57:17I wish we had.
00:57:19Randall, I'm not as happy with the job you did this week
00:57:24as I am over the last 13 weeks, to be honest.
00:57:27I think you've had better tasks than this last task.
00:57:31I'll give you an example.
00:57:32You're doing an auction.
00:57:33As a bidder of auctions, I like to look at a list.
00:57:36Let's say you're auctioning off 10 items.
00:57:38I want to know who's after me.
00:57:39I want to look at the 10 things because of the 10 things I want won.
00:57:42I don't want to roll 10.
00:57:43Right.
00:57:44But with an auction, it's always good to have a list.
00:57:47Randall, as far as the VIPs were concerned,
00:57:50they were not on the stage when you said their names.
00:57:54Now, I'm there, and you say,
00:57:55we have the greatest hockey player of all time.
00:57:57We've got Raju Bair.
00:57:59And I look, and I don't see him.
00:58:01Don't you think they're entitled to be on the stage right there
00:58:04where everybody can see him?
00:58:05I kind of like the idea of them being out amongst the crowd
00:58:07because I thought it gave it a nice quality to it.
00:58:10Why didn't you check the weather forecast?
00:58:12I checked it the day prior, early in the day.
00:58:14And what did it say?
00:58:15It said 30% chance of showers.
00:58:1830% chance.
00:58:20If it was 10%, I'd have plan B.
00:58:22Did you have a plan B?
00:58:23We had the beginnings of a plan B.
00:58:25But did you have a plan B?
00:58:26We didn't have a fully-baked plan B.
00:58:27You did not have a plan B.
00:58:28Not a fully-baked.
00:58:29We had the beginnings of a plan B.
00:58:30The beginning doesn't cut it.
00:58:32Either you had a plan or you didn't have a plan.
00:58:34The fact that you never finished it, that's not an answer.
00:58:37But we pulled together the plan B in record time.
00:58:40I've seen Carolyn do that many times,
00:58:42but she always seems to have a plan B.
00:58:44We get rained out a lot, don't we, Carolyn?
00:58:46A little bit.
00:58:47But we always have a plan B and a C and a D,
00:58:49and we have whatever we have.
00:58:51Randall, why shouldn't I hire Rebecca?
00:58:55Well, I've worked closely with Rebecca, Mr. Trump,
00:58:58and I believe that she has areas that she still needs to work on.
00:59:01I mean, she's relatively young.
00:59:02I think, first of all, I mean, she had a one-in-two record
00:59:04as a project manager, a losing record.
00:59:06I think when given the opportunity to release weaker players,
00:59:08her team released her to excel.
00:59:10I'd like to ask Rebecca, why shouldn't I choose Randall?
00:59:13Randall's been a star.
00:59:14He's got a star education.
00:59:16He's MIT.
00:59:17He's Rhodes Scholar.
00:59:19He's a star.
00:59:21I think that Randall is a wonderful leader.
00:59:24I have a ton of respect for Randall.
00:59:26I think that his Achilles heel is overthinking things at times
00:59:30and not really focusing on the big picture and the most important elements.
00:59:35And I think by focusing in on that detail,
00:59:38he sort of missed the point on the larger picture.
00:59:41He's weak on determining what is central to accomplishing the objective
00:59:46versus what is an additional that could or could not add value.
00:59:50How can you win three tasks,
00:59:53be undefeated as a project manager if you don't know the objective?
00:59:56The fact is, Rebecca, you were one-in-two.
00:59:58Do you respect Randall?
01:00:00I respect Randall a great deal.
01:00:02A great deal.
01:00:03George, what did Rebecca and Randall, what did they do right?
01:00:07Oh, they did a lot right.
01:00:08They both had very difficult circumstances to work with.
01:00:11They had difficult tasks,
01:00:13and they really rose to the occasion and did fantastic jobs with minor drawbacks.
01:00:18Would you say they're both stars?
01:00:19Absolutely.
01:00:20No, there's no question they're both stars.
01:00:22I think either one of them would be a very excellent choice for the organization.
01:00:26Carolyn, let me ask you the same question.
01:00:28What do you think they did right?
01:00:29They did a lot right,
01:00:30and I think the one thing that they have in common
01:00:32was that they were able to motivate their team,
01:00:34and every team member respected all of you, as a matter of fact.
01:00:37So I give you both a lot of credit for that.
01:00:39I think the event at Yahoo went very well.
01:00:42Randall, as much as I think you made a late decision,
01:00:45you picked it up, and your team was behind you,
01:00:47and you were able to just put it together in a small amount of time,
01:00:50and you had your team working for you,
01:00:52and everybody was actually having fun.
01:00:54They were motivated to actually make money.
01:00:57Randall, I think you're a brilliant guy.
01:01:00I think you have a tremendous future,
01:01:03and Rebecca, likewise.
01:01:05I think you're a brilliant young woman,
01:01:07and I think you have a tremendous future.
01:01:09Thank you. Please.
01:01:29Coming up next,
01:01:30the boardroom shifts to Lincoln Center,
01:01:32live, where anything can happen.
01:01:48As everybody knows, Rebecca broke her ankle, and very badly,
01:01:51but she hung in really tough.
01:01:53Take a look.
01:01:55I am a financial journalist based in Chicago,
01:01:58and the thing I like most about my job
01:02:01is the interaction I get with people from all walks of life.
01:02:05And how do you bring in business to this location?
01:02:08What do people need to know about the types of economic indicators
01:02:12that you actually pay attention to?
01:02:15Isn't that going to have a negative impact on the bottom line?
01:02:18Actually, no, because as the things that I do,
01:02:21Actually, no, because as the 30-year comes back,
01:02:24more volume goes to the floor.
01:02:26As a reporter, I take what's very esoteric
01:02:29and make it something that matters to just about anyone.
01:02:32I love that about my job.
01:02:34Good luck with everything. Take care.
01:02:36I've also continued some work
01:02:38with a nonprofit consulting group called Pivot Consulting.
01:02:42Rebecca Jarvis.
01:02:43To help nonprofits on how to work more efficiently.
01:02:46Pivot Consulting is working with you
01:02:48here at the Sue Duncan Children's Center,
01:02:50and we want to make sure you guys get the resources that you need.
01:02:54We're helping Sue Duncan Children's Center
01:02:56raise more funds over the next couple of years.
01:02:59And I wanted to give you this.
01:03:01We've got a five-phase plan
01:03:03so that we can do special projects and things like that.
01:03:06I hope to hear Mr. Trump say,
01:03:08You're hired.
01:03:09And by saying that, he gets an individual
01:03:11who will bring a drive for absolute success
01:03:13every single day to the workplace.
01:03:17APPLAUSE
01:03:23All right, bring out Rebecca.
01:03:25Come on, Rebecca.
01:03:27Whoa!
01:03:29APPLAUSE
01:03:31Mr. Trump, great to see you.
01:03:34George, great to see you.
01:03:37Carolyn, great to see you.
01:03:40Bye, everyone.
01:03:42APPLAUSE
01:03:47You look really great without those crutches, huh?
01:03:50It's been a long time.
01:03:52It's been a while, but it feels great
01:03:54to be back on two feet, Mr. Trump.
01:03:56Well, congratulations.
01:03:58Her opponent, Randall, is a smart guy,
01:04:01a Rhodes Scholar from Oxford
01:04:03with a degree from MIT.
01:04:05Do you know what that means?
01:04:07That's serious, serious education.
01:04:09Also, he's an outstanding entrepreneur
01:04:11and a leader, a great leader.
01:04:13Check this out.
01:04:16I founded BCT Partners five years ago
01:04:19along with three of my college classmates.
01:04:21Morning, Liliana.
01:04:22Good morning, Randy.
01:04:23We're a consulting firm.
01:04:25We provide management consulting,
01:04:27information technology consulting, and policy research.
01:04:29We've done work with pharmaceutical companies,
01:04:31Pfizer, Johnson & Johnson,
01:04:33and we wanted to somewhat diversify
01:04:35if anybody had any comments or questions.
01:04:37My primary responsibility at BCT is business development.
01:04:40And so I spend a lot of time cultivating relationships.
01:04:44Well, RP, thank you.
01:04:45In meetings with prospective clients,
01:04:47identifying new market opportunities.
01:04:49I certainly appreciate your time.
01:04:51I'd like to give you my card.
01:04:52And really leading the company
01:04:54in the direction that we can grow.
01:04:56Hey, sweetie.
01:04:58Hi, honey.
01:04:59I got married about a year and a half ago,
01:05:01and I think no one would be more proud
01:05:03than my wife, Zahara,
01:05:04than to see me become The Apprentice.
01:05:06I know. Look at that.
01:05:08I run a multimillion-dollar company.
01:05:10I want to run a multibillion-dollar company,
01:05:12and who better to learn from than Mr. Trump himself?
01:05:15If I were to hear the words,
01:05:16you're hired for Mr. Trump,
01:05:17I'm going to throw my arms up in the air
01:05:18and just scream at the top of my lungs.
01:05:20It would be a dream come true.
01:05:32All right, bring out Randall.
01:05:33Come on out here, Randall.
01:05:42Let's make it happen.
01:05:44Let's make it happen.
01:06:01Wow.
01:06:02Two tough cookies, huh?
01:06:05But before hearing from them,
01:06:07I'd like to hear from some of our other contestants
01:06:09that didn't quite make it,
01:06:11but they were really 16 and 18 people out of millions.
01:06:15So let's hear from Toral.
01:06:16Toral, you took a lot of abuse,
01:06:18and I think deservedly so, to be honest with you.
01:06:22What do you have to say?
01:06:25Well, Mr. Trump, as a woman in business,
01:06:27I'm extremely proud to support a woman like Rebecca,
01:06:31who is honest...
01:06:32You better support her.
01:06:33Boy, did she support you.
01:06:35Sir, Rebecca is smart.
01:06:37She is honest.
01:06:38She is trustworthy.
01:06:39Better than Randall?
01:06:41She is better than Randall.
01:06:43Whoa.
01:06:44Rebecca has the qualities of a great leader, Mr. Trump.
01:06:48She is a hard...
01:06:49I love the way you're defending her,
01:06:51because she defended you,
01:06:53and I love what you're doing.
01:06:55She is a diamond in a haystack.
01:06:59Okay, thank you.
01:07:01Marshawn, what do you think?
01:07:02I think, without a doubt,
01:07:03there's never been an easier choice
01:07:05for the Trump Organization.
01:07:06Randall exemplifies not only having a strong education,
01:07:09he's got experience, he has ethics,
01:07:11he's garnered the respect of every single person on this stage,
01:07:14and he exemplifies excellence in everything that he does.
01:07:17Mr. Trump, I don't see how you can have another choice.
01:07:19Okay, thank you.
01:07:25Jennifer M., what's your opinion?
01:07:28I love both of them, but I have to say,
01:07:30from the moment I first met Randall,
01:07:32I became a huge Randall fan,
01:07:34and as you can see on every single episode,
01:07:36he has the people skills that a leader needs,
01:07:39not just because of his education and experience.
01:07:42He's just a natural leader.
01:07:44He has the biggest heart.
01:07:45You can see it in his eyes.
01:07:46He's incredible.
01:07:48Okay, well, I'm going to stay with the women.
01:07:50Ala, you've been terrific,
01:07:52and you really did a good job.
01:07:53You almost made it.
01:07:54What do you think?
01:07:56Mr. Trump, as you know me, I'm all about the facts,
01:07:59and I had a privilege of working with both Rebecca and Randall.
01:08:02To me, Rebecca is not in the same league as Randall,
01:08:05and I speak the truth.
01:08:07I've worked with Rebecca, and no offense here, Rebecca,
01:08:09I saw literally nothing out of her.
01:08:13That's why I treated her as the weakest link.
01:08:15Whoa!
01:08:16Whoa!
01:08:17That's pretty tough.
01:08:19That's pretty tough.
01:08:21Ala.
01:08:23I mean, you're known as a tough cookie,
01:08:25but that's getting a little bit too tough, isn't it?
01:08:27I'm telling you the truth.
01:08:28Randall has been outstanding.
01:08:30He is a different style of leadership.
01:08:33He's somebody who takes control of the situation.
01:08:35I know, but so is Rebecca Outstanding.
01:08:37Mr. Trump did not see it.
01:08:39Did not see it.
01:08:40Did not see it one bit.
01:08:42All right, we've got to take a break.
01:08:46Now, an Apprentice Moment.
01:08:49I sold at least six or seven bats.
01:08:51I sold several gloves.
01:08:53I sold T-Balls.
01:08:54I sold T-Ball stands.
01:08:56It didn't end up being a sales event.
01:08:58You didn't sell.
01:09:00I did sell, Mr. Trump.
01:09:01You didn't sell, Jennifer.
01:09:02I didn't sell enough.
01:09:03You failed.
01:09:04I didn't sell enough.
01:09:05You didn't sell, Jennifer.
01:09:06You should not fire me.
01:09:07That'll be making a big mistake.
01:09:10Josh, I think you were a very, very ineffective leader.
01:09:15James, Mark, you didn't sell a single thing.
01:09:19You're all fired.
01:09:20All four are fired.
01:09:26All Apprentice cameras are live in Newark, New Jersey, where Randall's fans are out in force.
01:09:37I'd like to introduce Dan Rosenzweig of Yahoo.
01:09:40Dan.
01:09:42Thank you, Donald.
01:09:46Donald, as you know, Yahoo works with many charities and loves to work with great charities,
01:09:51especially ones like Autism Speaks and Elizabeth Glazer Pediatric AIDS Foundation.
01:09:57We, like everybody else, wanted to see a huge amount of money being donated, and obviously that didn't happen.
01:10:02And that's why Yahoo tonight announces that we're going to donate $100,000 to be split between both charities.
01:10:12Thank you, Dan.
01:10:13It's our pleasure.
01:10:15Thank you very much.
01:10:16We want these kids to get the money they deserve, and we want your audience to join us and donate generously.
01:10:20So thank you very much.
01:10:21OK, thank you very much.
01:10:28Now I've got two huge potential jobs for my next apprentice.
01:10:32First, a construction project over in New Jersey.
01:10:36Here it is.
01:10:38Just off the Hudson River, directly across from Manhattan, I'm building a spectacular $400 million condominium complex.
01:10:47Construction of Trump Plaza in Jersey City will start in January 2006.
01:10:53And when it's completed, these architectural jewels will be two of the tallest residential towers in the entire state of New Jersey.
01:11:02The brilliant design of the complex will allow residents of both buildings to enjoy breathtaking views of the Hudson River,
01:11:11Liberty State Park, and the magnificent New York City skyline.
01:11:17When it's finished, Trump Plaza will be a beautiful testament to high-end luxury living and design.
01:11:31The next job is something very close to my heart.
01:11:34Check this out.
01:11:37With more than 33 million visitors each year, Atlantic City is one of the most popular tourist destinations in the country.
01:11:45And of course, the Trump Organization is at the heart of the action.
01:11:50My company has invested billions of dollars in three amazing hotels and casinos in the city.
01:11:57And we've already begun a major expansion and renovation of all three properties.
01:12:04Apprentice would work with me and my very talented gaming executives to oversee this massive construction project.
01:12:12This is a huge undertaking and a challenging job for anyone.
01:12:23I'd like your decisions before I make mine. It could have a little bit of an influence, to be honest with you.
01:12:28Randall, have you been able to make a decision on what you'd rather do?
01:12:31Yes, I have, Mr. Trump.
01:12:32I'm a native of New Jersey, so both those projects actually find great interest for me.
01:12:36But I have to say that the Atlantic City project, I think, has the greatest promise and the greatest impact for your organization.
01:12:41And so I'd love to take Atlantic City.
01:12:43Okay. Rebecca?
01:12:44Well, Mr. Trump, I don't think I should make this very hard.
01:12:47I'd take the New Jersey project, and I think it sounds great.
01:12:50I know you're investing $110 million of CapEx into your Atlantic City projects.
01:12:54I wish you all the best with those, but my preference would be the other project.
01:12:58Okay, very good.
01:12:59That makes it a little bit easy for me, doesn't it?
01:13:02So, Rebecca, do you think there's such a thing maybe as too much education?
01:13:07Randall has an education the likes of which few people have ever seen.
01:13:10Is there such a thing as too much education?
01:13:13Mr. Trump, I would never undermine education.
01:13:15It's a matter of what you do with it.
01:13:17And I think that the most important thing about education is, first of all, knowing what you're using it for and then actually executing on that.
01:13:26And I would add, Mr. Trump, I run a multimillion-dollar consulting firm, BCT Partners.
01:13:30And so the fact that I have five academic degrees is, in fact, overshadowed by the fact that I run five companies.
01:13:35So we have to keep that in mind when we think about this.
01:13:37Randall, do you think Rebecca is tough enough to be working in the kind of a world we're talking about?
01:13:42I don't think Rebecca is experienced enough to work in the world we're talking about.
01:13:45She has yet to demonstrate that she can effectively lead a team to victory.
01:13:49He said tough enough.
01:13:52Well, I think she's shown toughness.
01:13:54I think she's shown toughness, but I don't think she's shown enough toughness for the job we're talking about today.
01:13:58Carolyn?
01:13:59Well, Randall, I think you have been outstanding since day one.
01:14:02For the most part, I think you led your team very, very well.
01:14:06However, I can't believe you didn't check the weather.
01:14:11Randall, tell me why you should get the job.
01:14:14I'll give you three reasons why I should get the job, Mr. Trump.
01:14:16First of all, if you ask any of the candidates that work with the two of us and live with the two of us,
01:14:20in fact, if you believe that I should be the sole and single Apprentice Tonight candidate, please stand.
01:14:25Please stand.
01:14:30Okay.
01:14:31That's my first reason.
01:14:32Pretty strong advocate.
01:14:34Second, I think when you combine my academic background with my professional experience with my undefeated record.
01:14:38Very good, but enough.
01:14:39Rebecca, why should you get the job?
01:14:41Mr. Trump, you've said that if there's a concrete wall in front of you, walk right through it.
01:14:46Well, Mr. Trump, the reason I'm here today, the reason I started this candidate interview,
01:14:51the reason I've made successes throughout my entire life is because I've completely pushed my way.
01:14:56I've charged my way through those concrete walls in my life, Mr. Trump.
01:14:59At 15 years old, I founded a non-profit.
01:15:01I raised $750,000.
01:15:04I worked with Colin Powell and Al Gore on that non-profit,
01:15:07and I gained the respect of 265 communities throughout the state of Minnesota.
01:15:12I changed thousands.
01:15:16I changed.
01:15:17Rebecca, do you think you're better than Randall?
01:15:20Mr. Trump, I think.
01:15:21Do you think you're better than Randall?
01:15:22As an apprentice, absolutely, Mr. Trump.
01:15:24I would beg to differ, Mr. Trump.
01:15:26And in fact, I run business.
01:15:28Rebecca writes about business.
01:15:29There's no comparison in our academic background.
01:15:31There's no comparison in our academic background.
01:15:35No comparison in our professional experience.
01:15:37And I have an undefeated record, Mr. Trump.
01:15:39She has a one and two record and a losing team record.
01:15:42Let's talk about the record for a minute.
01:15:44We can't, George.
01:15:45It's time for a break.
01:15:46I hate to do this to my man, George.
01:15:48But it's time for a break.
01:15:50I'll make my decision.
01:15:53Now, another apprentice moment.
01:15:56She said that originally then she backpedaled and then asked me if I wanted to do it.
01:16:01No, wait a minute.
01:16:02Let me explain to you what happened, Felicia.
01:16:03And that's not the truth.
01:16:04Why do you say that?
01:16:05Why do you say that?
01:16:06But it's the truth.
01:16:07No, but, no.
01:16:08If you feel this, it's a steamroll over people, and it's not necessary.
01:16:09Okay.
01:16:10It's really not necessary.
01:16:11But I'll tell the truth.
01:16:12You need to tell the truth and the full story.
01:16:13No, I need to stop.
01:16:14I need to stop.
01:16:15Holla.
01:16:16Holla.
01:16:17Holla.
01:16:18Holla.
01:16:19She's a wonderful person.
01:16:20She's a wonderful woman.
01:16:21You've got to stop brow-beating her.
01:16:26Our Apprentice cameras are live in Chicago, where Rebecca's hometown supporters are cheering
01:16:31her on.
01:16:32Nancy!
01:16:33Nancy!
01:16:34Nancy!
01:16:35Nancy!
01:16:36Nancy!
01:16:37Nancy!
01:16:39I based my company, and in fact, I based my whole life around really good people.
01:16:49It's very important to me.
01:16:50This isn't just a television show.
01:16:52This is about hiring somebody for a long period of time.
01:16:55It could be a year.
01:16:57It could be a lot longer than a year.
01:16:58We don't know where it's going to lead.
01:17:00So I just want you to understand, this is not entertainment.
01:17:03This is, for me, very important.
01:17:04For a lot of other people, it may be entertainment.
01:17:06But for me, it's really very important.
01:17:09Now, Randall, you've been outstanding.
01:17:12I've rarely seen education like you have.
01:17:15I have a great education.
01:17:16You blow me away.
01:17:17You blow everybody away.
01:17:18And I'm very, very impressed.
01:17:20Not only did you go to the great schools, you got great marks at those great schools.
01:17:25And I respect education, as Rebecca was saying before.
01:17:28We both respect education.
01:17:30Likewise, Rebecca, you have great education.
01:17:33You're very smart.
01:17:34You really handle pressure well.
01:17:38I'm amazed at how well you handle pressure.
01:17:41In all fairness, Randall, she broke an ankle.
01:17:44Most people, male or female, would have just said, I'm going home to mom.
01:17:48Is that right?
01:17:49Most people.
01:17:50She didn't even think about it.
01:17:51You never even thought about it, did you, Rebecca?
01:17:52Not once.
01:17:53I love the way you handled pressure.
01:18:0215 weeks, nobody better.
01:18:05I really am a little bit dubious as to your loyalty.
01:18:10In one case, I have great respect for the way you stuck up for Toral.
01:18:14In another case, I don't know why you were sticking up for her so much.
01:18:17But you know what?
01:18:19Ultimately, your loyalty was really wonderful.
01:18:23Randall, you're an amazing leader.
01:18:25Amazing.
01:18:27Rarely on this...
01:18:33Rarely have I seen a leader as good as you.
01:18:36And you lead through niceness.
01:18:37I mean, you really lead through example.
01:18:40And I think you'd be the first to admit that, Rebecca.
01:18:42Of course.
01:18:43I mean, people follow Randall.
01:18:45Whenever there's a choice, we want Randall.
01:18:47I mean, it's just happened four or five times.
01:18:50I've never seen anything quite like it.
01:18:53Rebecca, you're outstanding.
01:18:56Randall, you're hired.
01:19:19Randall.
01:19:20Randall.
01:19:22Hey, Randall.
01:19:23Randall.
01:19:24Randall.
01:19:25Sit down for a second.
01:19:26I want to ask your opinion.
01:19:27I mean, you two are so good.
01:19:28I have to ask Randall's opinion.
01:19:29What did you think of Rebecca?
01:19:30Mr. Trump, Rebecca has done an outstanding job throughout this interview process.
01:19:31I think she has much to be proud of.
01:19:32I think there's a lot of supporters for Rebecca.
01:19:33I can't say enough positive things about her.
01:19:34Let me ask you a question, Randall.
01:19:35And you, I really respect.
01:19:36And I respect your opinion.
01:19:37If you were me, would you hire Rebecca also?
01:19:38Would you?
01:19:39Would you?
