00:00Hello, it stays rather changeable across the UK as we head through the rest of Thursday
00:04afternoon. For most it will be a mixture of sunshine and showers. The showers are fairly
00:09scattered in nature across much of Scotland, Northern Ireland, parts of Wales, South West
00:13England. Here there will be a fair amount of cloud around, but at times that cloud will
00:15break to give some bright or sunny spells. But as I said, some places may escape the
00:19showers altogether. But showers heavier and more persistent across more central and eastern
00:24parts of England. We could even have a run with thunder or two into the afternoon. And
00:27down that east coast, thicker cloud here could give some more persistent shower outbreaks
00:31of rain as we head into the afternoon. Here there will be some particularly strong winds
00:35down that east coast, so it will feel distinctly cool I think with highs of just 15 or 16 degrees.
00:40Come further west, it will be breezy, but winds not quite so strong. So in any sunshine
00:44out that wind, it should still feel pleasantly warm, highs of 18 or 19 degrees.
00:49Now through the rest of Thursday into the evening overnight, we hang on to those showers
00:52around at first. Still some more persistent rain spreading in southwards across parts
00:56of Yorkshire into East Anglia and south-east England. But elsewhere though, turning largely
01:00dry with some clear spells. And under those clear spells are some rural spots. I think
01:04it will turn fairly cool. We could see lows across Scotland of 5 or 6 degrees at some
01:09glens. But elsewhere, still a fairly brisk wind, so temperatures not dropping too low
01:13in towns and cities. Lows of 10 or 11 degrees for most.
01:18So as we start Friday morning then, more clouds down that east coast and still some further
01:21shower outbreaks of rain spreading its way southwards. So quite a wet picture for a time
01:25across parts of Yorkshire, East Anglia into south-east England. Some of that rain could
01:29well be quite heavy. A lot of cloud across much of England or at least central and eastern
01:33parts of England. But the best of the weather and sunshine will be across Scotland, Northern
01:37Ireland, western parts of Wales and parts of south-west England as well. Much better
01:41day I think compared to Thursday with fewer showers and more sunshine. Still quite breezy
01:46towards the east, but elsewhere slightly lighter winds. So I think in any sunshine, it should
01:50feel that bit warmer. We're looking at highs of 16 or 17 degrees across Scotland and Northern
01:54Ireland, 18 degrees there across north-west England. But in any sunshine towards the
01:58south and south-west, we could see highs of 19 or 20 degrees, which is a bit above where
02:03we should be for this time of the year.
02:05Now as we finish Friday then, I think for many places we end the week on a fairly dry
02:09note. Still more cloud towards that south-eastern corner. Still the risk of a few showers here,
02:13but elsewhere turning largely dry. Clear spells again turning fairly cool in some rural spots
02:18under those clear skies. But as we head through the weekend, signs that high pressure will
02:22continue to affect the UK, pushing in from the west to an increasing amount of sunshine
02:27through the coming weekend, particularly on Sunday. But for more information, you can
02:30always follow us on YouTube and I'll see you again soon.
