00:00Hello, very good evening to you. We are going to see some largely dry weather across southern
00:04parts as we go through the end of the week, but it's a different story further north.
00:08There are still some outbreaks of rain to come because the same area of low pressure
00:13which has brought all the wet weather that we've seen recently is still lingering across
00:18northern areas. As a result, outbreaks of rain will continue to feed down from the north
00:23as we go through the end of Thursday and overnight into Friday. Some of this rain could be a
00:28little bit on the heavy side. There may still be some further impacts as a result, but the
00:33rain is generally easing. Towards the south, we are likely to stay mostly dry. In fact,
00:38there could be some clear skies as we go through the early hours of Friday morning, under which
00:42it's likely to turn a little chilly, a bit fresh perhaps for some, just about dipping
00:46into single figures. Elsewhere, with the cloud, the rain and some blustery winds, it's going
00:51to be markedly milder, most places holding up in double digits. As we go through Friday
00:56itself then, we stick with a north-south split of sorts. Towards the south, the greater
01:01chance of staying dry and a greater chance of seeing some sunshine breaking through,
01:05but I am expecting some showers to develop across some southern areas as we head through
01:09the day. Further north, there will be a bit more cloud around and some showery outbreaks
01:14of rain and some of the showers across parts of Scotland and northern England could turn
01:18quite heavy. There could even be the odd rumble of thunder as well. Now, temperatures are
01:23going to be near normal, perhaps a little bit below average for the time of year for
01:27some of us. In the south, southeast, may scrape to high teens, possibly low 20s, so not feeling
01:33too bad. Pleasantly warm in any sunny breaks. Further north, where you have the cloud, feeling
01:38fresher, but it will probably feel a little bit warmer than it has done recently because
01:42it's not going to be as wet and not as blustery either. Most of the showers will die out and
01:47clear away as we go through tomorrow evening, through Friday evening, and so it is going
01:52to turn largely dry overnight, sticking with some cloud across northern parts. Further
01:56south, though, largely clear skies developing, and as a result, a couple of things. We could
02:01see some mist and fog patches. We're also going to see our temperatures dropping a bit
02:05lower than they have done through some recent nights, so it could be a bit of a fresh, chilly
02:09start compared to recently for many of us first thing on Saturday morning. Now, any
02:14mist and fog on Saturday should clear away quite quickly, and then it is going to be
02:18the driest, brightest, sunniest day of the long weekend for most of us. Yes, there will
02:23be a few showers developing in some central northern parts, perhaps, and we are going
02:27to see a spell of rain trying to push in from the east, affecting some North Sea coastal
02:31parts, and another spell of rain coming in from the west, perhaps affecting the tip of
02:36Wales, Devon, Cornwall, as we go through the afternoon. But like I say, there will be some
02:40decent dry, if not sunny, weather around for large chunks of the UK on Saturday. With that
02:45then temperatures are probably going to be a bit higher than they are on Friday, a greater
02:49chance of seeing high teens or low 20s, so in any sunshine, feeling pretty warm indeed.
02:54Later on in the weekend, we are going to see this wet weather across the west pushing its
02:59way north-eastwards as we go into Sunday, and behind it then, plenty of showers. Some
03:03of these could be heavy, could see some impacts from the intense downpours in association
03:08with these, but that all shifts its way north-eastwards as we go towards Bank Holiday Monday, and
03:12there are some signs that we could see a slice of something a bit drier, a bit sunnier
03:16perhaps, developing across some west and south-western areas as we go through Bank Holiday Monday.
03:22So, some hopes that there could be some decent dry weather around, and worth bearing in mind
03:25at this time of year, with the sort of temperatures we are expecting, it will feel pretty warm
03:29in any sunshine too. If you want to know more about the forecast we can expect over the
03:33long Bank Holiday weekend, do head to our YouTube channel. I'll see you again soon.
03:37Bye bye.
