00:00Hello, very good day to you. We have some heavy rain pushing its way across central
00:05parts of England and Wales this afternoon and interestingly it's pushing its way westwards.
00:10More often than not we see our weather coming in from the west but this time it's a different
00:14story. The low pressure currently to the east of us but forcing that heavy rain then westwards
00:19as we go through the afternoon and that rain is going to be pretty heavy particularly across
00:23central parts of England and Wales. Elsewhere a few showers to watch out for and some of
00:28them could be a little bit on the heavy side but it's particularly across central parts
00:32of England and Wales where we have the greatest risk of some disruption. We do have a warning
00:37out because we could see more than 40 millimetres of rain in just a few hours which is likely
00:42to cause some disruption particularly to travel especially as we go through the evening rush
00:46hour. Where we have some decent sunshine temperatures are going to rise quite nicely a little bit
00:51above average for the time of year. The highest temperatures likely to be across central northern
00:55parts of Scotland. Here we could see highs of around 24-25 Celsius. Elsewhere a little bit
01:01fresher than this and markedly so under that wet weather across central parts of England and Wales.
01:06As we go through the evening and overnight the heaviest rain does clear away towards the west.
01:11Yes there will still be a few lingering spots of rain here and there but for most it is going to
01:16be a largely dry night and away from this cloudier zone across parts of northern England, northern
01:22Wales and into southern Scotland there will also be some clear skies but temperatures won't drop a
01:27huge amount. Most places holding up in double digits although we do need to watch out for some
01:31mist and fog patches particularly towards the southeast early on Friday morning. Otherwise as
01:37we go through Friday it's going to be a generally fine day for many of us. Some thicker clouds still
01:41across some northern parts of England, Wales, southern Scotland and this could bring a little
01:45bit of rain through the morning and then yes some showers will develop as we go into the afternoon
01:50but they'll be quite hit and miss so many places likely to avoid them although the showers
01:55particularly across parts of Scotland could turn heavy possibly even thundery. Again there will be
01:59some decent warm sunshine so for many temperatures are actually looking like they'll be a little bit
02:04higher on Friday compared to today. More widely getting into the high teens low 20s though notice
02:10across parts of Scotland temperatures that little bit lower than on Thursday. As we look towards the
02:16weekend and there's going to be a fairly showery picture particularly towards southern parts that's
02:21where we have the greatest chance of some hefty downpours developing especially towards the south
02:25southwest as we go through Saturday less so on Sunday perhaps. Also the chance of some heavy
02:31showers developing across central southern parts of Scotland though a little bit less certain about
02:36this. There will still be some warm sunshine around though for many of us towards the eastern coastal
02:41parts here there'll be a bit more cloud and an onshore breeze keeping temperatures lower. If you
02:46want more information about what we can expect this weekend do head to our YouTube channel later
02:50on this afternoon as Annie will have a full forecast. I'll see you again soon. Bye bye.
