00:00Hello there. Welcome to your weather update this Wednesday morning. And today, we have
00:07lost the rain in the south. We've gained a lot of showers across the north as well as
00:10the west. And things are fairly cool outside, rather chilly, for the start of June. Across
00:16the far north there, you can see low pressure influencing our weather, dragging in some
00:21cold air from the northwest. Winds will always be strong across Scotland, driving down towards
00:27Northern Ireland, northwest England, but a hint of something a bit more settled towards
00:31the south. And here, we'll see fewer showers through the day and more in the way of sunshine.
00:37So if you are stepping out first thing this morning, you can see there are a lot of showers
00:40across Scotland. Brighter skies across Aberdeenshire towards borders, as well as Northumberland,
00:46also Yorkshire. But further west, some showers moving in across Irish seacoast, far north
00:51of Northern Ireland, and a few across northern and western parts of Wales. Inland, it's
00:56a chilly morning, even with a touch of grass frost as we start the day. However, that won't
01:02last as some will get to work and we'll see temperatures rise. But not rising as high
01:07as they should do for this time of year. Things remain relatively cool, particularly with
01:11this northwest wind, which will continue to deliver those showers through the day. And
01:17they will develop in situ elsewhere, but fairly scattered. Where you see some heavy pulses,
01:22you're likely to see also some soft hail, even the odd rumble of thunder. And across
01:27the tops of the mountains across the far north of Scotland, even some wintryness here. Elsewhere,
01:32these showers will continue through the afternoon, but some brighter skies across central and
01:37southern parts of England and Wales, where temperatures will reach around 16 to 18 Celsius.
01:42But look at this, 11, 12, 13, 14 for Scotland, as well as Northern Ireland, northern counts
01:47of England, the far north of Wales. Now, through this evening and overnight, these showers
01:52continue across the northern half of the UK. A few across eastern counties will fade
01:57away yet again, but we could see one or two just running in across Wales, where we'll
02:01see a bit more in the way of clouds. The wind will also be a feature of the weather into
02:06Thursday morning across the western side of Scotland, running in across the North Channel
02:10as well as Northern Ireland. And temperatures yet again just holding around single figures,
02:15slightly higher across the far south of England. Even so, a cool start to the day. So low pressure
02:22continues to affect us through Thursday as well as Friday. High pressure towards the
02:26west across the Atlantic will exert a slight influence from time to time across southern
02:31and southwestern parts of England and Wales. However, through Thursday, you can see where
02:35the showers are, a stronger wind here, and these showers yet again could have a thundery
02:40mix to them. They'll develop elsewhere, particularly across the north as well as the west of the
02:45country, further south and east, some clearer skies, some sunshine, and even temperatures
02:49up to 19 Celsius. So, relatively cool for this time of year as we enter the next few
02:54days. Fresh winds in the north, showers will always be heaviest in the north as well as
02:58the northwest, but attempting to be drier, brighter, and also warmer further south and
03:03southwest. See you later.
