00:00Hello there, welcome to your Tuesday evening weather update from the Met Office.
00:04Now the peak of the heat will be on Wednesday, particularly across England and Wales,
00:08feeling fresher towards the northwest over the last 24 hours, but you'll return to some
00:12sunshine through Wednesday. High pressure remains in charge, but notice towards the west,
00:17it's a maturing area of low pressure, it's relatively deep for this time of year,
00:21but it will allow for more clouds and some sherry bursts to move in across the northwest,
00:26extending towards more eastern areas as it weakens through Thursday. The winds will pick
00:30up some strength as well, and this low pressure will also deliver some slightly less hot and
00:35humid air. However, through Tuesday evening, it's a lovely evening for many, still very,
00:40very warm, particularly across England and Wales. Any patchy rain across eastern Scotland
00:44tending to fade away, but we remain under dull skies here, lots of low cloud and even
00:49some mist and murk, a similar situation down towards the southwest. Now, even where you
00:55see clear skies, it's going to feel muggy overnight across England and Wales, 15 or 16
00:59Celsius, 12 for Northern Ireland, and it's much cooler across the western side of Scotland.
01:04Here, 6 to 9 degrees Celsius as we start the day on Wednesday morning, at least though,
01:08you'll wake up to some sunshine. Cloudier skies further east across Scotland, northeast England,
01:13and on this strip here down towards East Anglia, we'll see that low cloud
01:17tending to break from time to time. Elsewhere, it's a lovely day with sunny spells, high UV levels,
01:23feeling very warm to hot, particularly towards the Midlands and the southeast.
01:27And after a bright start across Northern Ireland, there'll be more cloud here,
01:30some showery rain later. Look at these temperatures though, 22, 23 across more,
01:35the warmer spots of Scotland, 22 for Northern Ireland, 26 to 31 though across mid Wales,
01:41down towards East Anglia, as well as the home counties. Now, through Wednesday evening,
01:46pleasant for many, but we'll see that cloud continue to roll in with some outbreaks of
01:50showery rain, which could turn heavy towards central and northern areas of Scotland.
01:54This is a weakening feature into Thursday morning, so introducing more cloud towards the Midlands,
01:59eastern counties through the afternoon, but the cloud will break at times,
02:02and still some showers rolling in across more northern and western areas.
02:06We hang on to that hot weather across East Anglia, as well as the southeast,
02:1027 here, and we resume near normal values as we head through to Friday,
02:15fresher towards the west with some showers, but still some sunshine coming through.
02:20I'll see you later.
