00:00Hello and a very good morning to you on this Thursday morning. It was a muggy
00:04night last night across England and Wales and we watch as more clouds and
00:08rain and wind comes in from the west through today and into tomorrow,
00:11allowing for a change in type in terms of whether it's going to turn a little
00:16bit fresher. And in fact through Thursday and into Friday we'll see some
00:20unseasonably strong winds across Scotland and Northern Ireland. A ridge
00:24extends across southern parts of England and Wales on Friday keeping things more
00:28quiet and dry but temperatures a good few degrees lower. So if you're stepping
00:32out first thing this morning a little bit of showery rain to start the day
00:35across Orkney, Shetland clipping the far east of Scotland and in fact down
00:40towards Northern England as well as Wales you could see more clouds and a
00:43few spots of rain extending towards Cornwall, Somerset as well as Devon. It's
00:48a fine start further east with some sunshine and also further west but
00:52that's not the case across Northern Ireland. The cloud has thickened
00:55overnight and you'll see some outbreaks of rain rolling in through the first
00:58part of today. Also for the western side of Scotland eventually you'll see some
01:03rain here. So here's that weakening weather front, eventually it will just be
01:07cloud as it slides down towards eastern counties through lunchtime and into the
01:11afternoon but it will break at times and you'll see some sunshine. Sunshine also
01:15for eastern and northeastern parts of Scotland through this morning into the
01:19afternoon whereas further west it's going to turn wet with outbreaks of rain.
01:23It's turning showery across the northwest of England, the Isle of Man, North Wales could
01:27even see a shower and certainly is a mix of rain and showery bursts for Northern
01:31Ireland. So temperatures here will struggle a little bit, 16, 17, 18 Celsius
01:36but in the sunshine eastern Scotland 20 degrees Celsius, mid Wales 22 but towards
01:41more eastern counties 24 or 25 degrees Celsius. Now through this evening and
01:47overnight we watch as this area of low pressure remains in charge.
01:50Showery bursts of rain which could be heavy across the north and the west of Scotland and the
01:54winds will pick up further through Thursday night and into Friday morning
01:58even with the risk of some gales along the coastline. So to start the day on
02:02Friday it's quiet towards the south, temperatures a good few degrees lower so
02:06feeling a little fresher if you are stepping out but showery rain continues
02:10through the day across Northern England, North Wales, Northern Ireland and some
02:14more persistent rain across the north and northwest of Scotland. Now through
02:18the morning into the afternoon it will disintegrate into showers so we'll see
02:21some brighter skies coming through but some of these showers could turn heavy
02:25whereas further south and southwest is a fine end to the working week with
02:29temperatures arriving around 20, 21 degrees Celsius. Have a lovely day and
02:33I'll see you again soon.
