00:00Hello there, welcome to your weather update from the Met Office. Now we've had a boisterous
00:05day today, that's Wednesday, with strong winds, particularly in the north, delivering lots
00:09of showers. The winds are down a notch through Thursday, even so. Low pressure sits to the
00:14north of the UK, bringing with it some cooler air extending across the country. These blues
00:19representing those lower temperatures. Towards the west, sitting across the Atlantic, high
00:24pressure, and the air is warmer here, and slowly we'll get some influence from that
00:29cell of high pressure through the weekend. But before that, this low remains in place,
00:35and hence the reason why, through Wednesday evening, if you're travelling, you could run
00:39into a shower out and about. It's going to be rather blustery, particularly across Scotland
00:43and Northern Ireland. Some showers run in across Wales, Northern England, towards the
00:47Midlands through into the early hours of the morning. More cloud here as well, but under
00:51clearer skies across the central portion of Northern Ireland, central and eastern areas
00:55of Scotland, North East England. Here there's a chance of a grass frost, particularly in
01:00the countryside. So showers from the word go as we head into Thursday morning. A chilly
01:04starts across the north as well as the west of the country. Further south, temperatures
01:08up a notch, even so. A bit of a cool morning, and we'll see a bit more cloud through Thursday
01:14morning here with those showers. Showers will develop elsewhere through the day. They'll
01:18be fairly scattered with some sunshine coming through, but frequent bursts across Orkney,
01:24much of Scotland, particularly the north as well as the west, and some heavier pulses
01:27coming in across Northern Ireland. But through the afternoon, these showers across England
01:31and Wales will tend to fade away. We'll see more on the way of sunshine. A pleasant evening
01:35to come here, and the winds across Scotland won't be as strong as Wednesday, even so.
01:42Temperatures 13 or 14. We could just come into the mid-teens across the Midlands as
01:47well as Wales. 19 for the southeast. Now on Friday, this feature here will bring some
01:51showery bursts of rain. Stronger winds for a time across Scotland. And then on Saturday,
01:56further showers are likely, particularly across the north. But notice a slight ridge trying
02:01to edge in from the west through Saturday and into Sunday, even so. Showers never too
02:06far away across the north, and on Sunday there will be a few just lurking around. Temperatures
02:12attempting to recover by a degree or so. So, through Thursday evening, we can see where
02:17these showers are. They will continue across the northern part of the UK. And then this
02:21feature here, you saw it on the synoptic map, this will bring cloud, outbreaks of rain,
02:26which could turn heavy for a time, and also some stronger winds. But it's a narrow band
02:30of rain which will slide down Scotland, clipping Northern Ireland towards the far north of
02:34England through the morning. Brighter skies across England and Wales to start the day.
02:38More clouds through the afternoon, perhaps one or two showers. Some showery bursts across
02:41northern counties of England, and a few showers likely across Scotland as well as Northern
02:45Ireland, frequent across the far north and west. And here's your outlook through into
02:49the weekend. Wherever you are, take care, grab some sunshine whilst you can, and I'll
02:53see you again soon.
