00:00Hello, welcome to your Tuesday evening weather update from the Met Office. Now
00:04through tonight and into tomorrow a lot of cloud, rain or showers and rather
00:08breezy, all courtesy of an area of low pressure which is anchored across
00:12Iceland delivering these fronts and the winds will turn a bit stronger behind
00:17this cold front as it slides down towards the southeast on Wednesday. So
00:21pretty much everywhere we'll see some wet weather, however through Tuesday
00:24evening a slither of brightness anywhere from West Country, the Midlands, Central
00:28Southern England, southern parts of Wales. At the same time that cloud and
00:31rain rolls in, the winds pick up across Western Scotland and this rain could be
00:36persistent and heavy at times particularly across more northern and
00:39western areas but by the end of the night notice some showery birds will
00:43have reached Central Southern England. We'll see some dry skies across Wales
00:46and the West Country, just a few drifting showers here so a better start
00:49to the day. Elsewhere there's a lot of cloud and outbreaks of rain, temperatures
00:54holding up overnight 12 to 14 degrees Celsius. So through Wednesday morning
00:58we'll see this rain, particularly across England and Wales, tending to clear
01:02towards the North Sea. The cloud will break then across these southern and
01:06central parts, still a few showers in the mix and this is the trailing cold front
01:09bringing cloud, outbreaks of rain, low cloud at that which will shroud the
01:13mountains of Scotland, the Cumbrian fells down towards the Welsh mountains and the
01:18moors of the West Country. Behind it we'll see sunshine and showers, blustery
01:22showers at that as temperatures rise down 16, 17 degrees Celsius, 17 or 18
01:27across England and Wales, perhaps a 20 towards London. So that's the picture on
01:32Wednesday afternoon. Through Wednesday evening, rash of showers across Scotland
01:37coming in across Northern Ireland, a few running towards the northwest of
01:41England, clipping the far north of Wales but some clearer skies here, some drier
01:45weather as we head into Thursday. But these showers will become quite blustery
01:51through into Thursday morning as that wind picks up some strength with some
01:55strong gusts through the first part of the day. Showers also could be heavy with
01:59the risk of thunder. So a bit of a squeeze on the isobars on Thursday, low
02:03pressure sits towards the north and you can see here it's going to be breezy
02:06further south as well. Then notice waiting in the wings, this system here
02:10will bring cloud and also outbreaks of rain to southern and central parts of
02:14England and Wales through Friday as the winds ease towards the north but also
02:18with some showers. So here's your outlook through Thursday, scattered
02:22showers across the north, elsewhere a mix of cloud and sunshine and in the
02:26sunshine temperatures reaching around 21 degrees Celsius. I'll see you later.
