00:00Becoming increasingly windy across the northern half of the UK through Wednesday night and into
00:06Thursday. Yes, welcome to your weather forecast. Here's your update in terms of the broader
00:11picture. Low pressure sits towards the north of the UK into Thursday. You squeeze on the isobars.
00:16Lots of showers moving in associated with this depression and these could merge to form a longer
00:21spell of rain. It's breezy further south and then things change across more southern counties
00:26into Friday. More about that in a moment. Eastern counties through this evening will see clouds and
00:30some patchy rain and drizzle. It will clear. Now frequent showers across Scotland clipping
00:35Northern Ireland. A few running over the Highlands towards eastern Scotland and down towards the far
00:39north of England. Windy particularly across the north and the west but inland further south we'll
00:45see some clearer skies, a quieter end to the night and a bright start to the day. A bit cool in places
00:51particularly for the glens of Scotland. So first thing then tomorrow morning. Brighter skies
00:56across England and Wales. A few showers though across Cumbria as well as Lancashire. Frequent
01:01showers across western Scotland which could turn heavy with the risk of thunder. Sunshine and
01:05showers for Northern Ireland. Some of these showers moving in across the eastern side of Northern
01:10England and a few just running towards eastern parts of Scotland as well. Brighter weather across
01:15Orkney but we'll see some rain across Shetland which will eventually clear as we head through
01:19the day. Later on in the afternoon one or two showers could just develop across the Midlands,
01:24Mid Wales and certainly you'll see that mix of sunshine and showers continue across Northern
01:29Ireland with more frequent and persistent rain across western Scotland. Now it's going to be
01:34gusty over the hills and the mountains of Scotland, Northern Ireland as well as Northern England and
01:38here temperatures struggling a little bit. Feeling cool in that wind further south 18 or 19. Now if
01:44you are stepping out on Thursday evening here's your forecast. Some showers across the far north
01:49there but some sunshine across Caithness. More persistent rain across the Highlands of Scotland
01:54perhaps just clipping this central belt. Some fine weather coming through for Northern Ireland
01:58although it will be rather breezy and we'll see mostly fine weather with some sunshine across
02:03England and Wales but notice one or two showers just lurking out there. They'll be the exception
02:08rather than the rule. Winds will be breezy in the south but strong in the north and certainly
02:14through Thursday evening a strong wind will continue with this showery rain. At the same
02:19time more cloud arrives across the southwest and eventually the onset of some rain here for Devon,
02:24Cornwall as well as Somerset pushing in across Pembrokeshire and then eventually coming in across
02:29the southeast of Wales. Elsewhere we lose the intensity into the early hours of Friday morning
02:34of that rain that showery rain but still some showers continuing into the first part of Friday
02:40as this front just clears off the scene and we lose the strength of the wind across the north
02:44but cloud and rain will gradually drift across the skies across central and southern parts of
02:50England and Wales. Low pressure will just drift towards Scandinavia into Saturday even so cloud
02:58and a mix of sun with some showers likely. Here's your outlook then through Friday afternoon. You
03:03can see a fair amount of clouds, some heavier rain across the south, temperatures typically
03:08the mid-teens just about into the low 20s. Saturday's looking like a slight improvement
03:13and things will warm up into next week. I'll see you later.
