00:00Hello there welcome to your weather update from the Met Office. It's been a
00:05cool start to the week but through the week slowly we'll see a recovery in
00:10temperatures. Currently though low pressure sits across Scandinavia
00:14delivering bands of clouds showers and rain through Monday into Tuesday. We saw
00:20quite a breeze on Monday still rather breezy from time to time through the
00:24middle part of the week as this area of low pressure just tracks in across the
00:27northwest. And then we look towards the west where another system moves in from
00:33the Mid-Atlantic. Eventually we'll see a ridge of high pressure towards the
00:36southeast and eastern counties as we remain under more unsettled skies
00:41further north and west. In fact it's a wet evening tonight across central and
00:46northern areas of Scotland. Streaming a band of showers and strong winds towards
00:52the north. Clearer skies a few showers across northern counties but certainly
00:56dry weather towards the east as another area of cloud and rain approaches and
01:00moves in across the West Country southern parts of Wales. And eventually
01:04by dawn we'll see that rain extended towards Suffolk, Essex, the home counties
01:08Kent, central southern England. Some heavy bursts to start the day here. Slowly that
01:14rain retreats from the western side. You can see some brighter skies and this
01:18area of clouds and rain sinks down across the central belt of Scotland.
01:21Showery bursts across Northern Ireland and then eventually we'll see showers
01:25build and develop in situ across many other areas. Certainly northern parts of
01:29Scotland, the Midlands, Northern England, Wales. But some brighter weather to end
01:33the day across the Midlands down towards the southwest and we hang on to some wet
01:37weather towards the far east there. Temperatures still a bit below average
01:41for this time of year 15 to 21 degrees Celsius. So through Tuesday evening yet
01:48again we watch as showery bursts of rain track across the country and then we'll
01:52see some quieter weather. This feature here across the near continent could
01:57just clip the far southeast as we head into Wednesday morning. But certainly
02:02Wednesday morning will dawn brighter with some sunshine and a light breeze to
02:06start the day. Although the winds again will pick up across the Western Isles
02:09and Northern Ireland. We'll see some showery bursts of rain just move in here.
02:13Showers will develop in situ as well. So it's sunshine and showers through the
02:17afternoon. And one or two of these again could be heavy with the risk of thunder.
02:22So here's your city's list for Scotland and Northern Ireland on Wednesday. Cloud
02:26will thicken through the day across the west with some showery bursts of rain.
02:29Brighter skies towards the east. And Wednesday across England and Wales.
02:34Temperatures up a notch. It's going to feel slightly warmer but certainly some
02:38showers in the mix there. And one or two of those could again as I said be on the
02:42heavy side.
