00:00Hello there and a very good morning to you on this Wednesday. For most it's a wet start
00:05to the day and rather breezy and also cool. All courtesy of an area of low pressure which
00:11sits to the northwest of the UK. Last night we saw this warm front move in with some outbreaks
00:17of rain. This is the cold front which will tend to weaken through the day. Behind it
00:22the air turns a bit more blustery with some showers. So no one immune to some wet weather
00:26but through the morning we'll see some drier interludes coming through towards the southwest.
00:31Not the case across western and central parts of Scotland and Northern Ireland. Cloud outbreaks
00:35of rain, a keen breeze. A few showers for Shetland, Orkney, one or two running in across
00:39Aberdeenshire, down towards borders. For Northern England and Eastern England it's a cloudy start
00:44again with some showery bursts of rain and a few showers likely also down towards the
00:48southwest. But notice there are some holes in the cloud and lucky ones seeing some warmer
00:53weather coming through through the first part of this morning. So we watch through
00:59the day as first of all this area of cloud and rain from around 5am just extends eastwards
01:05and slowly clears and then it pretty much is cloud with some showers. This is the cold
01:11front here which again will march its way eastwards taking with it the low cloud and
01:16some outbreaks of rain which will extend towards northwest England through the afternoon. But
01:20some brighter weather with some showers to follow across Northern Ireland and then eventually
01:23western Scotland. By the afternoon though you can see West Wales and the West Country
01:27seeing that cloud outbreaks of rain. Also for Cumbria, Lancashire, down towards Greater
01:31Manchester and Cheshire, Liverpool Bay. Now towards the east, temperatures around 17 Celsius,
01:37we'll see a few showers through the afternoon. 16 for Scotland, we could squeeze a 20 towards
01:43the far southeast. So a few showers through evening time on Wednesday but really it's
01:48towards the north where the winds will pick up some strength. Turning gusty into Thursday
01:52morning with a rash of showers which will be heavy with the risk of thunder. Sunshine
01:57and showers for Northern Ireland and Northern England through the first part of the day
02:00on Thursday. Elsewhere some brighter skies coming through, some sunshine as well. But
02:06these showers towards the north there, well they are likely to be frequent and as I said
02:11the winds will be gusty particularly through the morning but even the afternoon. So the
02:14keen breeze as temperatures reach around 15, 16 we could see a 21 down towards the south.
02:20And your outlook through Friday. This time the cloud and rain will be in the south, could
02:24be persistent through the afternoon. Showers further north and we've lost the strength
02:27of the wind. See you later.
