00:00Hello again. Whilst there is some drier, albeit colder, weather to come as we go through this weekend,
00:06for the time being there's still some heavy rain around.
00:09An area of low pressure pushed its way up from the south through today,
00:12bringing some significant rain to southern parts.
00:14That low will clear away towards the east through Friday.
00:17Into the weekend, a low towards the north of the UK,
00:20bringing something a bit blustery and showery here.
00:23But then through into Sunday, high pressure becoming more dominant,
00:27so that is going to quieten our weather down quite significantly.
00:30A lot of dry and at times sunny weather,
00:33but temperatures dropping too as we go into the beginning of next week.
00:36I'll have more on that shortly.
00:38Looking at the here and now, and the heavy rain that pushed into the south through today,
00:42continuing to feed a little bit further northeastwards
00:45could cause some problems for parts of East Anglia into Lincolnshire overnight.
00:49Some flooding likely, and also some travel disruption too.
00:53Otherwise, scattering of showers likely towards more western parts of the UK,
00:57in between something drier and some clear skies possible as well.
01:01Under the clear spells, temperatures could take a bit of a dip,
01:04so a touch of frost possible first thing Friday morning,
01:07and also some fog patches as well.
01:09Otherwise, in the east, Friday getting off to a bit of a wet start.
01:12That rain continuing for a time across eastern England,
01:15but it should clear away as we go through the day.
01:18However, for parts of eastern Scotland and perhaps the far northeast of England,
01:22some persistent rain lingering through much of the day,
01:24and in fact across parts of Shetland, we could see some winterness,
01:27so some sleet, possibly even a bit of snow over the highest ground.
01:31Western parts of Wales likely to have some showers,
01:34some of these feeding further inland through the day,
01:37and also western fringes of England and coastal parts of Northern Ireland and Scotland
01:41are scattering of showers quite possible,
01:43but further inland it looks like it will turn drier,
01:46and also sunnier for a time during the afternoon on Friday.
01:49Temperatures near normal for the time of year,
01:52most places staying in single figures may just about scrape into double figures
01:56towards the south and southwest.
01:58As we go through Friday evening, still a few showers for a time,
02:02but a lot of them are going to die out and ease and clear away,
02:05particularly for central and western parts, inland areas in particular,
02:09turning largely dry with some clear skies.
02:11A bit cloudier towards the east,
02:13a few more outbreaks of showery rain continuing overnight here,
02:16and coastal showers continuing towards the west and the northwest as well.
02:20Where we have the cloud cover towards the east,
02:23temperatures won't drop particularly low,
02:25though still a little chilly, falling into mid to low single figures.
02:28Further west onto the clear skies, a chillier night,
02:31so a bit more frost to come,
02:33and a greater chance of seeing some fog as we wake up on Saturday morning.
02:37Through Saturday itself though, and a bit of a west-east split across eastern parts,
02:42quite a cloudy picture,
02:44and there will be a few outbreaks of showery rain quite likely here.
02:47Further west, drier and sunnier.
02:50Still some coastal showers likely, particularly towards the west and the northwest.
02:54Watch out for some blustery winds towards the far north.
02:57But yes, a real west-east split in our weather on Saturday,
03:00especially when it comes to sunshine amounts.
03:03Temperatures though may be down a little bit compared to Friday,
03:06so it looks pretty much likely that everywhere will stay in single figures,
03:11highs ranging from around 4 to 9 Celsius.
03:14As we go into the rest of the weekend through Sunday,
03:18and into the beginning of next week,
03:20it does look like high pressure is really going to become more dominant.
03:23So it is going to be largely dry for most of us,
03:26but like I said, turning colder as well.
03:28So widespread frosts becoming more of a thing,
03:31as well as some fog and freezing fog at times.
03:34Now if you want more information about the forecast for this coming weekend,
