00:00Hello again. Whilst for many it's going to be another sunny but cold day, across the
00:05north we've already seen some significant snow feeding its way in. Starting off looking
00:09at the precipitation type composite from earlier today and there's been some heavy snow across
00:13parts of Northern Ireland into North West England, also some parts of Southern Scotland
00:18with another swathe of snow making its way in across parts of Northern and North Western
00:22Scotland already. As we go through the afternoon we are going to see much of the snow turning
00:27to rain across parts of Northern Ireland but further outbreaks of heavy snow, perhaps
00:31some sleet and rain mixed in with this across parts of Northern England could lead to some
00:35significant disruption here and that swathe of snow across the North West of Scotland
00:39I mentioned gradually making its way south eastwards but also this could lead to some
00:43significant accumulations, more than 10 centimetres perhaps even to some lower levels. There's
00:48the chance we may need to escalate our yellow warnings to amber in some places so do stay
00:53up to date. Further south across much of central southern England and Wales lots of
00:58fine sunny weather but it is going to be cold, temperatures only a few degrees above freezing
01:03though the mostly sunny picture and light winds here should offset that cold feel to
01:07things. Further north a different story, quite a grey picture and with the snow around it
01:11is going to feel quite cold especially when you factor in the strong winds which will
01:15lead to quite a significant wind chill. Later on today we are going to see most of the outbreaks
01:20of rain, sleet or snow feeding their way further eastwards and clearing away but some
01:24push a little bit further southwards so likely to see some into more central parts of England
01:28and into parts of Wales as we go through the early hours though it does ease as we go overnight
01:33as well. Staying mostly dry towards the south though quite cloudy and so here we are not
01:37going to see too much of a frost though we are likely to see some temperatures dropping
01:41a little bit below freezing in some places so a bit of a frost here, a more widespread
01:45harsh frost further north with some clearer skies as the worst of the rain pushes its
01:50way southwards so temperatures really dropping further north and in fact where we have a
01:55lying snow we could see temperatures falling into negative double figures perhaps as low
01:58as minus 15 Celsius so a very cold start, a harsh frost and watch out for some icy patches
02:04first thing on Wednesday morning as well. Also snow showers across northern parts of
02:08Scotland, these will continue as we go through Wednesday, some snow showers perhaps for Northern
02:12Ireland too elsewhere and it's a largely dry day. There's likely to be quite a bit
02:17of cloud first thing in the south but that will clear away and so it should turn increasingly
02:20sunny here and the system which had the potential to bring some significant snow to southern
02:25areas on Wednesday does now look likely to stay to the south of us so for many it is
02:30going to stay dry but cold temperatures again only a few degrees above freezing some places
02:35staying below freezing so very cold feel to things despite the fact that there will be
02:39quite a bit of winter sunshine around. As we go later in the weekend we are going to
02:43continue with that northerly wind that's going to bring more snow showers particularly to
02:47northern parts as we go through Thursday but perhaps some western and eastern coastal areas
02:51could see some flurries for a time too. Then into Friday and we have two features really
02:56high pressure dominating in the south meaning it's largely fine here but a system affecting
03:01northern areas could bring some more significant snow for a time and then into the weekend
03:06there's likely to be the change to something milder. Temperatures really do look set to
03:10rise but with that there's the potential for some wet and possibly even stormy weather
03:15as well. Annie will have more information on the change from cold to unsettled this
03:19week in our deep dive which will be available on our YouTube channel later this afternoon
03:23otherwise I'll see you again soon. Bye bye.
