00:00Good morning. It's going to be another sunny and dry day for many of us, but it
00:04is still a chilly start out there. We do have a snow and ice warning in force for
00:09northern areas of Scotland. That's where we'll continue to see some snow fall
00:12through the rest of the day. It will turn a little bit sleetier to lower levels by
00:16the end of the day, but still some heavy snow to the high ground. Elsewhere though
00:19it'll be a dry day. Any mist and fog you may have woken up to should clear
00:23fairly quickly. We've got a westerly wind which is a warmer direction, so it will
00:27feel a little bit warmer than it has done recently out there through the
00:31afternoon. However in the east, notice there's still a frost lingering through
00:35much of the day, so still a chilly feel for eastern areas. By the afternoon the
00:40sunshine will turn a little bit hazier across parts of Northern Ireland and
00:44Wales into the southwest too. That's ahead of this weather front that will
00:48push in overnight tonight. Many areas through the evening though should stay
00:52fairly dry away from the far north, but it will turn cloudier across the west.
00:56Still plenty of clear skies to come though across the east and as a result
01:00it will be a chilly evening here. And then overnight heavy rain pushes in to
01:04Northern Ireland, but in particular western areas of Scotland. It's still
01:08falling as snow over the high ground as well, but temperatures are starting to
01:12climb with milder air moving in and that southwesterly wind
01:16direction. So it will be a much milder night tonight than last night. However in
01:20the south and east where the cloud cover is a little bit thinner, there's still a
01:24risk of a frost, but generally it's going to be the mildest night we've seen
01:27for quite a while. That band of rain will continue to push into
01:32similar areas into northern and western areas through much of Saturday. It's
01:35going to be a much wetter and windier day, a cloudier day too. In the south and
01:40east though you should stay dry. Still some sunshine now and again through the
01:43morning in particular, but it is going to be a breezy day. In the west though
01:48notice we've got some really heavy patches of rain pushing in and that rain
01:52is only going to turn heavier through Sunday. You can see the temperatures
01:56climbing up to 9 or 10 degrees by Saturday, so that's going to start to
02:00melt any of that snowfall we've seen across Scotland. So we're starting to
02:04consider flooding issues through Sunday as further heavy rain is expected. That's
02:09as low pressures in charge. It's going to be sweeping a number of fronts across
02:13the UK throughout the course of Sunday, particularly pushing into northern and
02:17western areas. We've also got really tightly packed isobars, so some very
02:20strong gusty winds are expected through Sunday. As a result of all that we've got
02:25weather warnings in force for both wind and rain for many areas of the UK, but
02:30before then there's plenty of sunshine to come through the rest of today, so
02:34make sure you get outside and enjoy it. Have a great day.
