10 January - National weather forecast by Annie Shuttleworth.
Transcript
00:00There will be a largely cloudy day across the UK on Monday as rain and mild air pushes
00:05eastwards throughout the day. Before then though, a chilly start to the night on Sunday
00:10night across eastern areas, with clear spells and dry weather too developing in these areas,
00:16allowing a frost and some patches of mist and fog overnight. Further west in central
00:22and western areas, it will be quite a cloudy night, with outbreaks of rain and drizzle
00:27across western areas. That could be quite persistent to start on Monday morning, with
00:33some hill snow in the far north of Scotland. So there will be quite a difference in temperature
00:38from east to west to start on Monday, but throughout the day that milder and greyer
00:43feel to the weather will push its way eastwards, with outbreaks of rain and drizzle becoming
00:48more likely through the day, and quite persistent at times in the far north west where it could
00:53be quite breezy and unpleasant. Across the board though, temperatures will be a little
00:58bit up compared to Sunday, and not feeling too bad by the afternoon in the far south
01:03west, with the odd clear spell developing. Into the evening, we'll see the winds pick
01:08up even more across north western areas, and rain arrive in the south east. A change though
01:14by mid week as the jet stream is set to push northwards, allowing high pressure to build
01:19in from the south across the UK by Wednesday. So that means we're in for some drier weather,
01:25but some colder nights and some foggy nights too. If you'd like any more details on the
01:31forecast where you are, make sure you follow us on social media.
