00:00Good afternoon, still a mild day for the rest of Sunday. For many of us there will be a little

00:04bit more rain at times in northern areas and this evening it will turn very windy indeed.

00:11Now those winds are strengthening because of a low pressure arriving in northwestern parts

00:16this evening. That will introduce fresher air across northern parts of the UK. Further south

00:21though we're still sat below that warm front so staying mild into the new week. For Sunday though

00:27still a mild day for the bulk of the country. Cloudy for many of us but some sunny spells

00:32breaking out here and there and not feeling too bad at all for December in any of that sunshine.

00:37Northern areas though continuing to see cloudier weather with some outbreaks of rain and drizzle

00:42throughout Sunday afternoon and a bit cooler here too. This evening we'll see those winds begin to

00:48strengthen. For many of us a cloudy night, rain turning more persistent across Wales and into

00:53southwestern parts of the UK, turning fresher across northern parts of the country with some

00:58showers here too and perhaps some hill snow. Let's take a closer look at those winds for this evening.

01:05So the winds will strengthen up across the west coast of Ireland and then the northwestern coast

01:10of Scotland. We'll see gusts strongest by Monday morning across the Shetland Isles where they could

01:16reach in excess of 90 miles per hour for a time so take care if you're in those areas. A windy start

01:22to Scotland then still but fresher with showery outbreaks of rain. Sunny spells across northern

01:27parts of England. Central parts will see a front straddle the country with outbreaks of rain and

01:33drizzle and in the south coast mildest here, mainly dry with some sunny spells and that mild theme

01:39will continue for the new week. There'll be some further rain at times for northern areas but by

01:43the end of the week it'll be much drier for most of us. You can find all the details online.
