00:00Hi there, we've still got some rain or showers to move through overnight but by Friday the
00:05weather settles down for a brief period, a drier interlude as we end the working week.
00:11But initially on Thursday evening some wet weather out there across western parts of
00:15the UK, some gusty winds as well. That rain pushes into the east by about midnight followed
00:19on by a greater chance of some clear spells but also further showers coming into western
00:24parts. Where we do get clear spells, increasingly through the night, we'll see temperatures
00:28falling away, especially across northern Scotland where widespread frost will form
00:34and temperatures in some parts as low as minus four to minus six Celsius, somewhere like
00:39Altona Harrow for example which was also the coldest spot on Thursday morning. We'll see
00:44some freezing fog patches in the north of Scotland, Northern Ireland also a few fog
00:48patches around, mist patches elsewhere across the UK where winds fall light overnight and
00:53a bit of a chill in the air first thing Friday no matter where you are with plenty of bright
00:58weather on offer although there'll still be some showers around, clearing eastern parts
01:02first thing and some showers continuing to feed into western coasts. These become fewer
01:06and further between by the afternoon, a better chance of dry and sunny weather emerging across
01:11the country. One or two fog patches in the north of Scotland could persist into the afternoon,
01:16it will stay cold here where that happens but otherwise temperatures bouncing back to
01:20around six to eight Celsius across Scotland and Northern Ireland, nine to twelve Celsius
01:25England and Wales, a fine crisp autumn day. But by the end of the afternoon the next weather
01:31system making an appearance into Cornwall, parts of Pembrokeshire for example, that then
01:37during the evening pushes into Northern Ireland, Wales, the southwest of England, increasingly
01:42soggy conditions once again, the winds picking up. Now ahead of that we'll see clear spells
01:47and a frost quite early on in the night across eastern and northeastern parts of the UK but
01:52by the end of the night those temperatures are recovering as the wind, the cloud and
01:56the rain spread widely. So a frost, yes, north of Scotland, north-east Scotland, parts of
02:03Aberdeenshire for example, minus two Celsius possible earlier on in the night but by the
02:08end of the night most places are mild but also increasingly wet and windy. Risk of fifty
02:14mile an hour wind gusts or perhaps more along the English Channel coast there as this system
02:19moves through. It's bringing a lot of rain, could be some issues first thing across southwestern
02:25parts but it does clear through by the afternoon. So it's a wet start to the day for many, the
02:30heaviest rain towards the southwest and then that wet weather pushes its way eastwards
02:35during the morning along with a strong wind for many. By the afternoon some brighter skies
02:40emerge but also frequent blustery showers into Northern Ireland and Scotland. Longer
02:44spells of rain possible even in the odd rumble of thunder along with gusty winds but some
02:49gaps in the cloud also so perhaps some drier and brighter weather by the afternoon. However
02:54for many places it is going to stay grey and damp through much of the day but with that
03:00southwesterly wind of course it is also going to be mild, fifteen Celsius in places. Then
03:06into Sunday further blustery showers expected and we keep the mild air for a time before
03:11a trend back towards average into next week.
