00:00Hello, the weather front that's been lingering across the UK for a few days now is going
00:05to continue for a little while yet. But you can see it's not just bringing some rain,
00:10it's also forming the boundary between warmer air towards the south and something a little
00:14bit cooler, a bit more fresher towards the north. It is going to try to push a little
00:18bit further northwards as we go through the end of the week and then through the weekend
00:22it's actually going to start to break up and clear away. We will then have a bit of high
00:26pressure towards the north but towards the south we're going to drag in something perhaps
00:31thundery from the south. As we look through the rest of Thursday and you can see that
00:36front lying across central parts of England and Wales, like I said it does edge further
00:40northwards so turning wet across northern England, southern Scotland and Northern Ireland
00:44through the early hours of Friday, staying clearer towards the far northwest of Scotland
00:48and here it could turn a little chilly, temperatures perhaps dropping to around 2 or 3 Celsius,
00:53also some clear skies towards the south. As we go through Friday morning itself then
00:58a wet start to the day here across this area, northern England, southern Scotland, Northern
01:03Ireland. The rain is going to be quite persistent through much of the day, it won't always be
01:07heavy but some heavy outbreaks are likely so we could see some totals building up, particularly
01:12across parts of southwest Scotland and eastern Northern Ireland. To the north of this we
01:16are going to see the cloud building somewhat and the risk of a few showers. Meanwhile for
01:20central southern England and Wales plenty of fine sunny weather here and temperatures
01:24getting into the mid-twenties. That front is not going to change much position as we
01:28go through the end of the day so still southern Scotland in particular staying stuck under
01:33that rain as we go through Friday night into Saturday morning which is why those totals
01:37are likely to build up. Further north northwest again some clear skies allowing temperatures
01:41to drop perhaps a touch lower than through Thursday night. Meanwhile across England and
01:46Wales there will be some clear skies but also some pockets of mist and fog. They should
01:50clear quite quickly first thing on Saturday morning and so for the bulk of England and
01:55Wales Saturday looks like a largely dry day with some bright sunny spells. The front like
02:00I mentioned before is breaking up and clearing away so places which have been stuck under
02:04the front for a little while by then will turn drier and brighter as we go into the
02:08afternoon and a good deal of sunshine perhaps across much of Scotland and north northwest
02:12and parts of Northern Ireland too. There will be some humid air across the south so
02:16temperatures likely to be peaking around 26, 27 Celsius perhaps but noticeably fresher
02:23further north. It's worth bearing in mind with that humid air we could see some showers
02:26developing as we go into the afternoon but it's into Sunday when we're really going to
02:31see some thundery activity coming up from the south initially across parts of the southwest
02:35spreading northwards as we go through the day. We could see 30 to 60 millimetres of
02:39rain perhaps in some places most likely like I said towards the southwest but generally
02:44many places at risk of seeing some thunderstorms. Notice that whilst in the south, southeast
02:49temperatures won't be quite as high on Sunday as they will be on Saturday. Further north
02:53where that front will have broken up and cleared away for some it will be that little bit warmer.
02:58I have more details on the weekend forecast on my weekend forecast which is available
03:02on YouTube so worth checking that out if you have anything planned. See you later.
