Transcript
00:00It's either already cooled off or it is cooling off over the next couple of days.
00:05And the weather this week generally will be a little bit more mixed than it was last week.
00:09Low pressure is heading its way across northern Scotland introducing cooler air already here
00:14but still very warm across the south and east through Monday and Monday night.
00:18But by midweek the cooler air is in place across all parts of the UK.
00:23So if you're not a fan of the heat it will be turning cooler and fresher.
00:27But for the time being as I said still some warmth across the south through Monday.
00:30Further north that low pressure generating a lot of cloud and some outbreaks of rain.
00:34And we'll continue to see this line of rain.
00:36It's a weather front trickling south through the rest of today.
00:40Ahead of it some showers likely and with the warmth and humidity we could again see some heavy ones.
00:46Not the intensity of the violent storms that we saw during the weekend
00:50but still one or two scattered thundery showers possible over the Midlands up towards Lincolnshire
00:55and a few sharp showers possible across the southwest.
00:58Dull and damp across northwest England, parts of Northern Ireland
01:01although the north coast brightening up and a good part of Scotland brightening up this afternoon
01:05with some sunny spars and just a few showers.
01:08The fresher air in place here already but the warmth continues across the south and east.
01:13Not the 30 Celsius. First time for a week we haven't reached 30 Celsius
01:17but 26, 27 Celsius is likely in the sunnier conditions across the southeast.
01:22But elsewhere it is already turning cooler and fresher.
01:25But still pretty warm and humid through this evening and overnight across the south.
01:29And we'll see further outbreaks of rain just trickling south.
01:32But still some heavy bursts possible particularly during the evening.
01:35And that rain and drizzle will work into the Midlands, Wales and southwest England
01:39by the time we get to morning time.
01:41Clearer skies across Scotland and Northern Ireland with the cooler air in place here.
01:45What a contrast we'll see with the temperatures overnight.
01:48Down into single figures, maybe not far off freezing through some sheltered glens across northern Scotland.
01:54Whereas in the southeast another very warm night.
01:57Temperatures in London may not drop below 19 degrees Celsius.
02:01So quite a contrast. Still that difference between the warmth and the cool in place to start with Tuesday.
02:07This weather front, this line of cloud and rain is that marker, that line between the warmth and the cool.
02:13And that fresher air is going to continue to push south as this cloud and rain heads in across East Anglia,
02:18southern parts of England during the afternoon.
02:21Heavy showers possible again across the southeast in particular later on.
02:25But for Wales, southwest England, skies should brighten through the day.
02:28Sunny spells for most of the day for Northern Ireland and Scotland.
02:31Only one or two scattered showers mostly across the far north.
02:34But a cooler, fresher feel here. Temperatures back close to average, even below average in some locations.
02:41Still 22, 23 across the southeast but it will be a cloudier day here.
02:46And even here finally we'll get that fresher air in place as we head through Tuesday evening and into Wednesday morning.
02:52Still some outbreaks of rain to come here for a time during Tuesday evening.
02:56The breeze picking up along some of these North Sea coasts as well.
02:59But overall a much more changeable and a cooler week ahead.
