00:00Hello again. Some parts of the UK will have some fine weather through this afternoon.
00:05However, for much of the UK, it's looking fairly cloudy with some outbreaks of rain
00:09that are slowly tracking eastwards, but not really reaching eastern England. So for many
00:13here, it will stay dry and feel pretty warm. And for Northern Ireland, where we've seen
00:18already some fairly heavy rain, looks a lot brighter for the afternoon with some sunshine.
00:22There's a big area of low pressure out in the Atlantic, and it's throwing a lot of cloud
00:26and rain our way. That's been quite a wet start for Northern Ireland and much of Western
00:31Scotland. But Northern Ireland, as I mentioned, brightening up steadily through the rest of
00:36today. So some good spells of sunshine here in the afternoon. Western most parts of Scotland
00:40also cheering up a little bit to end the day. But the rest of Scotland, fairly cloudy with
00:45rain at times, although Shetland may well stay dry. And the rain trickling into northwest
00:49England, parts of West Wales, and eventually towards Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly.
00:54But a good part of central and eastern England, East Wales, won't see any rain until quite
00:58late in the day. And of course, East Anglia and the southeast, where we hang on to some
01:02brighter conditions with a bit of sunshine, 24, 25 degrees, will feel pretty warm, feeling
01:07pretty pleasant in the afternoon sunshine in Northern Ireland, 20 or 21 here. But otherwise,
01:12feeling fairly cool with a brisk breeze and those outbreaks of rain, which could be quite
01:16heavy this evening over parts of northern England in particular. It does tend to fizzle
01:22out as it drifts its way southwards. The rain clears from Scotland through the evening,
01:26although it lingers in Shetland. And then we're just left to overnight with some cloud
01:30and maybe a bit of drizzle across parts of southwest England, but otherwise turning largely
01:35dry and with clearer skies across the north. It'll turn quite chilly, certainly cooler
01:40than recent nights in Scotland, down to single figures. Well down in some sheltered glens,
01:45whereas across southeastern East Anglia, it stays fairly warm and humid. So that weather
01:50front that's moving in at the moment is fizzling out. But the area of low pressure that kind
01:54of it came from isn't fizzling out. That's just moving closer and closer, the isobars
02:00squeezing in as well. So that's going to bring some blustery showers across the northwest
02:06later on on Thursday. We start there with the remnants of that weather front bringing
02:10cloud and maybe increasingly some drizzly conditions over parts of particularly Devon
02:16and Somerset might just drift northwards through the day. But for large parts of the UK, it's dry
02:21and bright until that low starts to throw showers and gusty winds into Northern Ireland and Western
02:27Scotland during the afternoon. And the wind's really getting quite lively for the time of year
02:31here. Elsewhere, I say many places dry and bright for much of Thursday, where we see some sunshine
02:37temperatures getting up into the low 20s once more, maybe 24, 25 across the southeast. But
02:42feeling cooler for Northern Ireland and Western Scotland with those gusty winds and
02:46heavy showers that will tend to zip through on those blustery winds. But there'll still
02:50be plenty of them as we head into Thursday evening. And that low pressure system looks
02:55like continuing to throw showers across much of the north on Friday. Looking further ahead,
03:01it's a bit mixed as we go into the weekend. More details on that if you follow us on social media.
