00:00Thanks for joining me for this latest Met Office update. Friday will be bright
00:05and breezy for the vast majority. Some sunny spells around, a few showers but
00:09most of those are going to be across Scotland and Northern Ireland and it's
00:13here where we'll see the strongest winds as well, closest to this area of low
00:17pressure that's slowly creeping towards us. This old weather front brought the
00:22rain through Wednesday. It's been providing cloud and drizzle across parts
00:25of the south during Thursday but it's continuing to fizzle out. The low
00:29pressure taking control, bringing bands of showers in across Scotland. Again
00:34they'll mostly fizzle out across the east of Scotland overnight but heavy
00:38showers will keep going on that strong wind across Western Scotland, the Western
00:43Isles and a few for Northern Ireland too. Later in the night some thicker cloud
00:46could bring a few showers to South Wales and southwest England but otherwise it's
00:50turning largely dry with clear spells. With a stronger breeze it won't be quite
00:56as cold as the previous night with temperatures mostly holding up in
00:59double digits. Some towns and cities staying in the teens. On to Friday's
01:04detail and much of eastern England dry and bright with sunny spells. Often
01:08cloudier across the southwest with maybe some showers here but the main area of
01:12showers will be across Western Scotland initially but spreading through Northern
01:16Ireland and into eastern parts of Scotland by the afternoon. The showers
01:21here will be heavy but they will also zip through because it will stay windy
01:25across the northwest. Elsewhere a bit of a breeze bringing perhaps a cooler feel
01:30but get out of that breeze. In the sunshine across eastern England 23, 24
01:34maybe even 25 Celsius will feel pretty warm. Cooler where it's cloudier and
01:39certainly cooler with the strong winds across the north. They will continue to
01:43feed frequent showers in across Scotland during Friday evening. Still some pretty
01:49heavy ones around too. Clouding over once more in the southwest with maybe some
01:53drizzly conditions here as we head into the weekend. Weekends still a little bit
01:59of a mess. This area of low pressure will start to push more moisture and
02:04certainly that means more cloud and some patchy rain in from the west and all the
02:08while will keep showers going across northern Scotland. But for large parts of
02:12the UK much of Saturday should be dry. As I said still some uncertainty about the
02:17timing of the cloud and the patchy rain coming in from the west but it could
02:21turn a bit damp by the end of the day through parts of Wales, Northern Ireland
02:24and Western England. Showers across northern Scotland but from the central
02:28belt southwards certainly down the eastern side. Many places dry and bright
02:33on Saturday. The winds a bit lighter as well and so feeling pretty pleasant with
02:37temperatures maybe getting in to the low 20s once more. Still a fair bit of
02:42uncertainty about how that low pressure system brings more cloud and rain in on
02:46Sunday but I suspect there will be a little bit more around through Sunday
02:49especially through central parts of the UK. For our full UK weekend weather
