00:00Welcome along to your national weather update. If you're watching this on
00:03YouTube don't forget to hit subscribe. You won't want to miss a forecast this
00:07week. There is plenty going on. Temperatures ticking up day on day
00:12probably peaking on Friday. The sun is strong of course at this time of year. UV
00:16levels high or very high. Grass pollen levels also high or very high. The
00:21temperatures will be building day on day for most places but it's not going to be
00:24blue skies everywhere. There's going to be more cloud in Western Scotland with
00:28some outbreaks of rain here at times as well. That's certainly what we've seen
00:32through Monday and we'll keep some outbreaks of rain going across northern
00:35and western Scotland overnight. One or two scattered showers over southern
00:39Scotland, northern England as well but they are fading away. For most places
00:43it's going to be a dry night. The cloud tending to melt away as well and that's
00:47going to allow a pretty cool night actually. Later this week temperatures
00:51will be much higher overnight but by dawn down to single figures even in many
00:56towns and cities. So a relatively cool start to Tuesday but generally it's
01:00going to be a sunny day. More sunshine compared to Monday for England and
01:05Wales, Northern Ireland too. Still a small chance of a shower here and across
01:10southern Scotland and northern England but most will stay dry. The main
01:13exception will be the highlands of Scotland and the Western Isles where
01:17there will be rain at times and also across Shetlands. But I say for many
01:21sunny spells and temperatures will be ticking up after that chilly start up
01:26into the low 20s quite widely across England and Wales. Probably peaking at 23-24
01:31across the southeast. Notably cooler across the highlands and the Western
01:34Isles where it will also be fairly breezy at times. Fresh to strong winds
01:39bringing thicker cloud and outbreaks of rain on and off. That will continue
01:43during Tuesday evening. Otherwise again a largely clear evening leading into a
01:48mostly clear night and then that will lead into another sunny day on Wednesday.
01:54Again we could start with a bit of patchy rain over northeast Scotland and
01:57the Northern Isles and the Western Isles. We'll see some rain through the day. May
02:01cloud over a little bit across Northern Ireland during Wednesday but again for
02:05most places lengthy spells of sunshine and temperatures a little higher on
02:10Wednesday. More widely over 20 degrees across northern England, southern
02:14Scotland, even eastern Scotland as well. But further south while we're looking at
02:18temperatures in the mid to even high 20s across the southeast. 2080s 82
02:22degrees Fahrenheit and temperatures will be similar I suspect on Thursday.
02:27Overall a very similar day with high pressure nearby. Weather front still
02:31threatening some cloud and patchy rain to the northwest. As this high edges
02:35eastwards it allows a plume of hotter air to spread northwards during Thursday
02:41more particularly on Friday. So Friday likely to see the peak in those
02:45temperatures over 30 degrees across the southeast before this weather front
02:49introduces cooler air into the weekend. For a full week ahead forecast make sure
