00:00Good morning. If you're just about to step out, then be prepared for a chill.
00:04It is much colder out there for many, certainly compared to recent mornings,
00:08and certainly a lot colder than last weekend. Despite the chill, there's plenty
00:13of sunshine to be had over parts of eastern England, southern Scotland, but
00:16it's not sunny everywhere. We've got showers feeding into parts of north and
00:19west Wales, and the north coast of Northern Ireland, the west coast of
00:22Scotland, and northern Scotland, where it is very windy. It's been a very blustery
00:27night over the Northern Isles, those winds only slowly easing through the day,
00:31but continuing to feed showers in across northern Scotland, which will fall as
00:34snow over the hills. Much of eastern England will stay dry, and although we'll
00:38see a sprinkling of showers across the south, even here many places will stay
00:42dry and bright through the day. It isn't warm, however. Temperatures struggling to
00:47get into the teens across the south, and many places further north, 10 or 11 at
00:51best, add on the strength of the wind across northern Scotland, and well, it
00:56really does feel cold. Further south, well, the wind's not as strong, but these
01:01temperatures significantly lower than average, and lower than last weekend, as I
01:05said. If heading out this evening, then be prepared for those temperatures to be
01:09dropping pretty rapidly. We'll keep a few showers going over northwest England,
01:14north and west Wales, north coast of Northern Ireland through this evening.
01:17They should start to fade here through the night. For many, it'll be a dry night,
01:21a clear night, and as the winds start to ease, temperatures will fall even further,
01:25so even colder tomorrow morning, compared to this morning, a greater chance of a
01:29frost over northern England, Northern Ireland, and Scotland, certainly in rural
01:33areas. So, a cold start to Sunday. Again, many will have a fine, bright start with
01:38some sunshine. Still, the cloud feeds in over north Wales, a few showers coming in
01:42here, and generally quite cloudy over northern Scotland, with some showers
01:46here keeping going throughout the day. But the winds here, at least, will be
01:50lighter than today, and further south, the winds will be fairly light as well.
01:54So, in the sunny spells, temperatures may well get up to 10, 11, 12 Celsius, maybe 13.
02:00These numbers are about 10 degrees lower than the same time last week. So, yes,
02:05things have changed quite a bit. But again, the winds will be lighter tomorrow
02:09compared to today, so it probably won't feel quite so chilly. But again, on Sunday
02:13evening, those temperatures will be falling away pretty rapidly. High pressure
02:17looks like dominating into next week. For more updates on that, make sure you're
02:22following the Met Office across social media this weekend.
