00:00Hello, welcome to your national weather update.
00:02We've seen some pretty heavy showers around today.
00:05They're going to be fading away steadily
00:07as we go through the night.
00:08And for most, it will be dry and bright tomorrow.
00:10But still, as I say, some lively downpours
00:12during Wednesday evening across the Midlands, East Anglia,
00:15and the Southeast.
00:16Been quite a wet and cold day across the Northeast.
00:18You can see circulation there.
00:20That's an area of low pressure that is pulling away.
00:23We are going to see increasing cloud coming back
00:24to Northern Ireland.
00:26There's another weather front here
00:27moves in later in the night.
00:28But for most, it's a dry night and a clear night
00:31across northern and eastern parts.
00:33Further south, though, and across the West Coast,
00:35we are going to see a lot of mist and low cloud forming.
00:38So quite a gray start to Thursday
00:41across the Midlands, Wales, Southwest England,
00:43and around Western Coast, particularly
00:45through the Irish Sea.
00:46So quite murky here to begin with on Wednesday.
00:49That'll take a while to clear away.
00:51Thicker cloud for Northern Ireland, Western Scotland,
00:54with a little bit of showery rain, likely,
00:56more particularly over the Western Isles.
00:58Generally, it is going to be a dry day for most places,
01:01and probably brightening up a little bit
01:02as well after that fairly gray starts.
01:05Decent spells of sunshine over Northern England,
01:07Eastern England, where temperatures
01:08are likely to get into the high teens, maybe up again
01:11over 20 Celsius in a few places.
01:13Coasts will be cooler, and certainly cooler
01:16across the Western Isles, with a cloud
01:18and the outbreaks of rain creeping in here.
01:20That'll pep up a little bit through Thursday evening,
01:23maybe push into parts of the Highlands
01:25and spread across the Northern Isles.
01:27But for most places, again, it's
01:28looking dry, with clear spells initially,
01:31but turning quite misty and murky.
01:33So again, some fog around for Good Friday morning.
01:36But for most, Good Friday is set fair, dry and fine,
01:39probably a sunnier day.
01:40Certainly good spells of sunshine through the morning.
01:42Some cloud will bubble up through the day.
01:44There's the possibility of one or two scattered showers
01:47during the afternoon.
01:48But for most, it should be dry and bright.
01:50Again, some coasts will be cooler and may stay murky.
01:53But for most, it's looking pretty pleasant
01:56with temperatures above average for the time of year,
01:58mid to high teams, 20, 21, maybe a little higher
02:02across parts of the southeast on Good Friday afternoon,
02:05maybe up to 22 or 23 in some spots.
02:08So quite warm on Good Friday, and that
02:09should last into Saturday.
02:11We've got high pressure generally controlling things.
02:13But weather fronts are trying to push in.
02:15It's a bit of a fight.
02:16Overall, the high pressure wins, and those weather fronts
02:18will be fairly weak.
02:19And we keep the relatively warm air
02:21for most of the Easter weekend.
02:24Not really until we get to Monday,
02:25when this weather front looks like bringing
02:27a bit of a change.
02:27It'll bring a band of rain across the country,
02:30and it looks like introducing cooler air by the time
02:32we get through Easter Monday.
02:34So generally, some fine weather to be had over the weekend.
02:37Perhaps some changes as we go into next week.
02:39For more details on that, you can watch our 10-day trend,
02:41which will be available on our YouTube channels.
02:43And of course, keep up to date throughout the long weekend
