00:00Thanks for joining me for this National Weather Outlook, a fine sunny spring day for much
00:05of the country.
00:06But the feel of the day depends on how close you are to the east coast, because that is
00:10where the breeze is coming from.
00:12The view from space shows quite a lot of clouds early on, but it is tending to melt away.
00:17Many places seeing sunny spells developing, but a bit more cloud just pushing into the
00:22southeast through the afternoon.
00:24The small chance of one or two showers here and there as well.
00:26For the vast majority, it is dry and fine, but that easterly breeze is bringing a chill
00:31to these North Sea coasts.
00:33Temperatures here struggling to get much beyond 10 or 11 degrees Celsius and feeling colder
00:38with the wind.
00:39Whereas further west, with some shelter in the sunshine, temperatures again getting into
00:43the mid-teens and once more western Scotland, 19, perhaps even 20 Celsius again here.
00:49So I say quite a different feel depending on how close you are to that east coast and
00:53that easterly breeze, which will bring more cloud across southern areas.
00:56One or two showers in the southwest this evening, and a few more could push in across southern
01:01counties through the early hours.
01:03But again, most places will be dry.
01:06Some misty conditions here and there again, particularly on the eastern coast.
01:10But turning quite chilly where we've got the clear sky, Scotland, Northern Ireland, North
01:13West England, where we have some shelter from that breeze, we could get down close to freezing.
01:19Most towns and cities will stay up at five or six degrees Celsius and a slightly milder
01:23night in the south with more cloud here, seven or eight below.
01:27On to Wednesday's details, and again, for most places, it's dry and bright, but there
01:30will be quite a lot of cloud early on across southwest England, south Wales, and a few
01:34showers are possible here, mostly during the late morning, early afternoon, may even be
01:40the odd heavy one before that all tends to ebb away through the day, so turning dry by
01:44the end of the day.
01:45Plenty of sunshine again for Scotland, Northern England, much of eastern England too after
01:50maybe a cloudy start here.
01:52We've got that easterly breeze, however, so again, quite a contrast in temperatures
01:57with eastern most areas, 10, 11, 12 at best for the west mid teens, but perhaps not quite
02:03as warm in western Scotland.
02:04We could still get 18, perhaps even 19 Celsius in one or two locations here, but generally
02:10that east-west split continues for the next few days.
02:14As we go through Wednesday evening, the cloud tending to melt away from Wales and southwest
02:18England.
02:19Again, largely dry and clear, enough of a breeze to stop too much of a frost, but a
02:24few pockets are still possible on Wednesday night and into Thursday morning.
02:29We are going to see more of a change though later in the week.
02:31High pressure is dominating at the moment, keeping things mostly dry, just pushing up
02:35to the north, allowing more of an easterly breeze, and these weather fronts just edging
02:40in during Thursday, more particularly into Friday, bringing some wet weather, and also
02:45we're going to see temperatures dropping off as well.
02:48If we put the temperature profile on, there's the high pressure up to the north, easterlies
02:53bringing in this cooler air during Thursday and Friday.
02:56So with more cloud and colder air, it will feel quite a bit chillier by the end of the
03:02week.
03:03As I say, this weather front will be providing some outbreaks of rain as well.
03:06More details on that if you follow us across social media.
