00:00Hello again, yet another cold start on Thursday, another frost for most of the UK, but generally
00:06another fine day with dry and bright conditions, sunny spells for most. Just a bit more cloud
00:10across eastern England with a chance of one or two showers likely here. High pressure
00:15is dominating across the country, encompassing the whole of the UK and keeping things fine
00:21through Wednesday, Thursday and beyond that also. Now, we have seen one or two showers
00:25during Wednesday over Wales and south-west England. They're fading through the evening
00:30and then clear skies will dominate and that's why we're having the frost forming quite quickly
00:35through the night and by dawn, temperatures even in towns and cities are likely to be
00:40at or below freezing. In rural areas, we could drop down to maybe as low as minus 3, minus
00:464, maybe minus 5 over northern England and northern parts of Scotland, minus 2 or 3 in
00:51the countryside across northern Ireland. Here, there could be some fog around through the
00:54night and first thing on Thursday morning, but that should clear away fairly quickly
00:58and of course, the sun will quite quickly melt any frost. A sunny day then by and large,
01:05but look at this, more clouds spilling into parts of eastern England, Lincolnshire, East
01:08Anglia, the south-east and we will see a scattering of showers here come the afternoon. Most though
01:13will stay dry and certainly many central and western parts dry and bright with sunny spells.
01:19Temperature-wise, struggling after that cold start, staying generally below average, 10,
01:2411 Celsius with an onshore breeze. Some of those North Sea coasts will be really quite
01:28fresh, 8 or 9 at best, but parts of western Scotland and south Wales could see temperatures
01:34climb into the teens once more. During Thursday evening, any showers will again fade from
01:40southeastern parts and then it's another clear night and again, we will see that frost forming
01:44quite quickly. Again, the odd mist and fog patch here and there, but a cold start, a
01:49frosty start again on Friday, but then again, by and large, another fine bright day with
01:54sunny spells taking control. The winds perhaps picking up a little bit in the far north-west
01:59as weather front approaching here which may increase the clouds so the sunshine may be
02:03a little hazy over western Scotland, but otherwise, as I say, dry and bright. Again though, temperatures
02:09struggling to get up to average for the time of year, mostly 10 to 13 Celsius covers it
02:14wherever there's a breeze off the sea. That is going to make it feel really quite fresh,
02:19but the high pressure that's with us sticks around. It does tend to waddle away a little
02:23bit as we go towards the weekend, allowing that weather front just to encroach a little
02:26further at times into the far north-west. Some uncertainty about how far that gets in,
02:31but it could bring a bit of patchy rain across the north-west, most likely on Sunday, but
02:35for most into and including the weekend, the outlook is dry, bright with sunny spells,
02:42but those mornings will continue to be on the frosty side. More details, as always,
02:46if you follow the Met Office on social media.
