00:00Hello, welcome to your latest update from the Met Office. Yes, another day of
00:04strong sunshine. UV levels will be high or very high. You'll need the sun cream
00:08and the hat on today, unless you're in the northwest, western parts of Scotland
00:14and the west of Northern Ireland, where there is more cloud and some outbreaks
00:17of rain. A big swirl of cloud in the satellite image, an area of low pressure
00:21and these weather fronts bringing in the outbreaks of rain. Fairly patchy
00:25initially, but spreading more widely through the day across the Western Isles,
00:29across the Highlands and perhaps western fringes of Northern Ireland.
00:32Clouding over through the central belt of Scotland and across the east of
00:35Northern Ireland, but generally dry and bright here and lots of sunshine across
00:39England and Wales. Might just turn a little misty along the south coast at
00:44times. Temperatures responding to that sunshine, not as hot as yesterday across
00:49the southeast, but elsewhere probably a little bit warmer for many with highs in
00:52the low to mid 20s. It's obviously cooler with the wet and increasingly windy
00:58weather coming into the far northwest. That rain will pep up, actually getting
01:02quite heavy for a time through this evening across western Scotland, slipping
01:05down towards Glasgow. Rain will spread across the east of Northern Ireland also,
01:10but for most of England and Wales it'll stay dry overnight. Again, just the chance
01:13of it turning a little misty along the south coast. It will be quite a warm
01:18night once more with temperatures holding up into the teens in many places.
01:23We'll see that rain just still around first thing in the morning through
01:26central and southern Scotland, clearing quite quickly from the east coast of
01:30Northern Ireland and then trickling slowly across Cumbria, Anglesey as well
01:34and generally turning a bit damp on the west coast of Wales throughout Wednesday.
01:39A cloudier day for west Wales, northwest England certainly, but things brightening
01:43up across Scotland and Northern Ireland. Some showers coming into the west of
01:47Northern Ireland and the far northwest of Scotland where it will stay pretty
01:51windy. For the bulk of England and Wales though, it will be another sunny day. A
01:56hotter day as well ahead of this cold front. Temperatures could get up to the
02:02high 20s, 29, 30 is possible. Not as hot under that cloudier zone through the
02:08weather front and fresher conditions following across Scotland and Northern
02:12Ireland. But the heat and humidity across the south needs watching because the
02:17hottest conditions across France will spark some thunderstorms through
02:21Wednesday afternoon. Look at this, tracking their way slowly northwards.
02:26We could see a real light display on Wednesday nights with flashes of
02:30lightning heading up across the channel. But we'll also see some torrential
02:33downpours in places. They will be hit and miss. Not everywhere is going to catch
02:38them but as they track northwards through Wednesday night, a real threat
02:41that those thunderstorms could cause some disruption. Something to keep an eye
02:46on. Further thunderstorms possible on Thursday and Friday too. So we have
02:50warnings in place. Make sure you keep up to date with the latest. Track the
02:55radar on the app and make sure you view those weather warnings on the app, on the
03:00website and of course make sure you're following us on social media.
