00:00Hello again. Dry but drab sums up the weather for many places today and for most of us for
00:07the next several days. Now a few places seeing a bit of sunshine today and equally a few
00:11places seeing a little bit of rain across Northern Ireland and southwest Scotland. Mild
00:16out there today but one of the trends this week will be actually things turning a little
00:20colder. High pressure is moving in. These weather fronts are providing a little bit
00:24of rain but they're getting pushed away by this high pressure that builds in over the
00:28next 48 hours and then sticks around through Friday, through the weekend and beyond. High
00:34pressure means dry weather and for most it will also bring quite a lot of cloud. Let's
00:41rewind though and go back to today's details because the high isn't fully with us yet.
00:45We do still have this weather front sitting across parts of southern Scotland and Northern
00:49Ireland so bringing some patchy rain here in the far northwest of England. To the north
00:53of that weather front some brighter skies although we may see a few showers in Shetland
00:57with a brisk and gusty wind. Further south lots of cloud but some sunshine for Yorkshire,
01:02Lincolnshire and across to Lancashire as well. In the south it is particularly mild but everywhere
01:08temperatures are above average getting it to double digits maybe 13 or 14 across the
01:13southeast. During this evening we will see that patchy rain just starting to trickle
01:18further northwards so it turns drier across Cumbria eventually drying up in southwest
01:22Scotland as well and Northern Ireland as the rain pushes across the Highlands and into
01:26the Western Isles. Elsewhere generally dry but cloudy. Where we've got the breaks in
01:32the cloud however across parts of northeast England in particular we are likely to see
01:36temperatures falling down close to freezing perhaps in rural areas but also some fog patches
01:41in the Vale of York down towards Lincolnshire. So that could be a bit of a problem during
01:45Thursday if we do see some fog it could last for most of the day. Generally it's another
01:51rather dull but dry day. The patchy rain across the Highlands the Western Isles clearing away
01:56staying fairly damp in Shetland until quite late on but otherwise again dry and cloudy
02:01sums it up should brighten up across eastern parts of Scotland and northeast England seeing
02:05some sunny spells providing that fog clears away but elsewhere it's just dry and cloudy
02:11for the vast majority. It will be again on the mild side temperatures though just perhaps
02:16a degree or so down on today's values but still many areas getting up to double digits
02:20so still above average for the time of year. During Thursday evening not a great deal of
02:24change except that rain will continue to trickle away from the far north of Scotland. Where
02:29we see again breaks in the cloud parts maybe of north Wales again northeast England eastern
02:34Scotland again likely to see some fog patches forming as we head into Friday and that's
02:40one of the big things as we look further ahead into the weekend. Fog patches are going to
02:45become more prevalent. It stays largely dry and those temperatures will continue to drop
02:50off day by day. For more details on all of that of course you can follow the Met Office
02:55across social media and subscribe to our YouTube channel. You never miss a forecast.
