00:00Welcome to your latest update from the Met Office. Tuesday's forecast is again
00:04sunshine and showers but there won't be as many downpours, they won't be as
00:09intense as Monday's showers either and actually large parts of the country
00:13will be dry and fine with spirals of sunshine. Some very heavy showers though
00:18around through Monday. Met Office yellow warnings remain in place through the
00:21evening. Bands of showers across the south, slow moving downpours across parts
00:26Scotland and Northern Ireland. Potential for further travel disruption, a lot of
00:31spray and surface water on the roads and also the risk of some lightning
00:35strikes with some storms providing lots of flashes and bangs. But they tend to
00:40fade as we go through the evening and certainly the second half of the night
00:43looking largely dry although we will keep some showers going over northwest
00:47England, eastern and southern Scotland. With clear spells temperatures not
00:51dropping too far, most towns and cities sticking in the teens. On to Tuesday
00:57and we will see I think good spells of sunshine but not everywhere starting
01:01with blue skies. There'll still be quite a bit of cloud and some showers over
01:04parts of northern England since northeast Scotland and then as we go
01:08through the day some clouds will bubble up and we'll see more showers developing.
01:12Not as many as Monday, they'll be mostly focused down the eastern side of
01:15England and eastern Scotland and even here they'll be scattered about so some
01:20places may not see those showers at all and certainly much of the south, most of
01:24the west will be dry and bright for most of the day. Bit of sunshine, light
01:29winds, feeling a bit warmer than Monday with temperatures generally around or
01:34perhaps even still a touch below average but feeling warmer because the winds
01:38will be that much lighter, 24 degrees likely in one or two places. Through the
01:44course of Tuesday evening we'll still have a sprinkling of potentially heavy
01:48showers across the east particularly northeast Scotland but many will be dry
01:52with clear spells but look behind me there's a weather system moving in. This
01:56is going to bring cloud and rain through Wednesday tied into an area of low
02:00pressure out in the Atlantic but the weather front's making steady progress
02:04during Wednesday bumping up against a ridge of high pressure. So that weather
02:09front will be bringing cloud and rain initially to northern Ireland and western
02:13Scotland. In fact could be quite heavy for time on Wednesday the rain as it
02:17pushes into northern Ireland but the cloud will also increase across western
02:21parts of England and Wales after a bright start and we'll see some patchy rain
02:25trickling in here to end the day. Much of the Midlands, eastern England will stay
02:29dry and bright along with parts of eastern Scotland for most of the day. The
02:33sunshine likely to turn increasingly hazy but with good spells of sunshine
02:37across the southeast 24-25 is possible whereas it will feel a lot cooler as the
02:42wet and windy weather swings into northern Ireland and western Scotland.
02:46Staying pretty mixed through the rest of this week but large parts of central and
02:50eastern England likely to have a much drier week certainly compared to the
02:54weekend. For a full week ahead forecast make sure you're subscribed to our
