00:00Hello again. It's not completely dry today. A few places seeing some showers
00:04and for some those showers are pretty heavy as well. But for many it's
00:09certainly a lot drier than it has been and quite a few spots will have a
00:13completely fine dry day with sunny spells and it does feel a bit warmer out
00:17there. Certainly by this afternoon with light winds in the sunny spells feeling
00:21pretty pleasant. There is a big area of cloud, an area of low pressure that is
00:25heading our way. That will bring somewhat wet weather especially in the
00:29west tomorrow. But ahead of that we have a bit of a ridge of high pressure. There
00:34have been already some showers around but they're not as frequent, not as heavy
00:38as the ones that we've seen over recent days. Mostly focused across eastern
00:41England and particularly across parts of eastern Scotland where we could see some
00:45slow-moving thunderstorms and we do have a Met Office yellow warning in place.
00:50The potential for some local flooding, hail and obviously thunder and lightning
00:55will be additional hazards here. Elsewhere though just a sprinkling of
01:00showers across eastern areas and many southern and western parts dry and fine
01:03with some sunshine and as I said at the start feels a bit warmer out there.
01:07Temperatures far from spectacular still around or even a touch below average but
01:1223-24 across the south with light winds so we'll feel fairly warm. The winds
01:17will pick up a little bit overnight still some slow-moving heavy thundery
01:21showers across eastern Scotland into the evening but all eyes then further west
01:26that weather system we saw earlier on the satellite picture starting to
01:29increase cloud across Northern Ireland, Western Scotland with a bit of showery
01:33rain here and there. It's getting quite cloudy perhaps also across Wales and
01:36southwest England. Elsewhere it could be some mist and fog for a time overnight
01:40but generally dry and clear and a little cooler perhaps than last night but still
01:45most towns and cities holding up into the teens. Rural spots may drop down to
01:49eight or nine. Onto the details then for Wednesday a bit of an east-west split
01:54fine bright start for many but quite quickly turning wet in Northern Ireland.
01:58The rain could be quite heavy here as well certainly for a time as it pushes
02:02through turning wet in western Scotland and eventually come the afternoon it'll
02:06turn damp over parts of northwest England, west Wales and finally into
02:10parts of southwest England too come the end of the afternoon. Northern Ireland
02:14actually brightens up through the afternoon so some spells of sunshine
02:17here western coast of Scotland also cheering up a little through the
02:20afternoon and the rain in the eastern Scotland will be fairly patchy. Further
02:24south though and further east it's staying largely dry yet it'll cloud over
02:28somewhat but parts of East Anglia in the southeast may well hang on to some good
02:32spells of sunshine and in this zone that's where we'll see the top
02:35temperatures more widely into the mid-20s perhaps 25 is possible. Obviously
02:41it's going to feel cooler where we've got the cloud and the rain and the
02:45increasing wind further west. This line of rain is a weather front there's some
02:50uncertainty about how it progresses but through the evening it will bring some
02:54patchy rain to the Midlands across to the east of the Pennines perhaps as well
02:58but clearing all the while from parts of Scotland and Wales and maybe then
03:02lingering across the southwest. There's a bit of a wave on this weather front so
03:06some uncertainty about timing but it should fizzle out as we go through
03:10Thursday leaving again many places with a largely dry day but the exception to
03:15that will be the northwest where another area of low pressure comes in
03:18and the isobar squeezing together as well so further showers coming in here
03:22and a gusty wind as well. So remaining pretty mixed the weather over the rest
03:26of this week for more information for more details make sure you're following
03:30the Met Office on social media and more details on that weather warning on our
03:35app and on our website.
