00:00Hello. Welcome to your latest update from the Met Office. Plenty of sunny spells across
00:05eastern areas today. Not a lot of rain around, but quite a lot of mist and low cloud in parts
00:11of the west, especially close to the coast. A bit of a mishmash on the satellite image.
00:15There's been some rain across the western isles of Scotland, a bit of drizzly rain in
00:20the far southwest. But elsewhere, yes, quite a lot of cloud to start the day, but that
00:24cloud is breaking up a little bit. And certainly, of course, eastern England will continue to
00:28see sunny spells elsewhere brightening up too. But the west coast of Wales, south and
00:33west coast of Scotland, always staying pretty glum. And other coasts also in the west may
00:38just remain fairly misty. Now, we are looking at a few showers breaking out across perhaps
00:43parts of east Wales and some more central parts of England. Very hit and miss, but they
00:47could be on the heavy side if they do develop. Temperature wise, well, we see the sunniest
00:52skies across the east. That's where we're going to see the top temperatures again. So
00:55east Yorkshire could be up again 26, maybe 27 degrees Celsius. If it stays misty and
01:01murky around the coast in the west, well, we're only looking at high teens and quite
01:05a humid feel as well. But generally, where skies brighten, temperatures in the low to
01:10mid 20s. Through this evening, any of those showers will steadily fade away for most of
01:15England and Wales and dry nights. But there will be a bit more rain just pushing into
01:18western Scotland and Northern Ireland through the night. And that's behind a weather front
01:23that is actually also introducing slightly cooler conditions as well. So perhaps more
01:28comfortable in the northwest. Temperatures, though, could still stay in the teens in towns
01:32and cities, whereas for England and Wales, some urban areas hanging on to the mid teens
01:37are quite an uncomfortable night here. Friday's weather then slightly different across northern
01:41England and Wales. Much more cloud, that weather front lying around. So there will be some
01:45patchy rain as well. Any of that rain should clear from southern Scotland. There will be
01:49a few showers over the Highlands, the Northern Isles and the Western Isles, maybe the odd
01:53one for Northern Ireland too. But we should also see some sunny spells again, East Anglia
01:57and the southeast generally dry and sunny. And that's where we'll see the top temperatures
02:02after a dull, damp morning. Northwest England, North Wales probably brightening up a little
02:07bit, but thicker cloud will spread into the Midlands, South Wales and parts of southwest
02:12England too. With more cloud, it won't be as warm here, but quite a contrast from northwest
02:18to southeast with, again, the high temperatures across the London area, 25, 26, maybe 27 Celsius,
02:24much cooler conditions in the far northwest with temperatures in the mid teens. Through Friday
02:30evening, we'll start to see that cloud just thickening further across parts of the south.
02:33That is that old weather front not bringing much rain, but it will introduce slightly
02:37cooler conditions as we go into the weekend. That cold front moves away, but high pressure
02:43follows in behind. That will bring a lot of dry and sunny weather this weekend. These
02:48weather fronts close to the far northwest will bring some cloud and rain here, more especially
02:52on Sunday. But apart from that, most places seeing lots of sunshine this weekend, a cooler
02:58feel slightly on Saturday, but then temperatures could be back into the high 20s for some on Sunday.
