10 January- National weather forecast presented by Alex Deakin.

00:00Hello. A rather grey Monday for most of us, but it is turning milder, certainly across
00:06the west. Temperatures on the rise through this afternoon. Staying fairly chilly across
00:10the east, but largely staying dry here as well. Big swirl on the satellite picture,
00:15deep area of low pressure between Greenland and Iceland. Its weather fronts though are
00:19bringing us a lot of cloud and tucked in behind this warm front is some pretty warm air. But
00:25that warm front is also providing drizzly conditions at times, particularly across the
00:30west and across the Midlands and especially quite damp across western Scotland. It's rain
00:34on and off for Northern Ireland too. Not much getting to eastern England though. A bit of
00:38drizzle here and there, but generally staying dry. It is on the chilly side though across
00:43the east because we're ahead of this warm front. It's tucked in here where we've got
00:47that milder air. So temperatures ticking up through the afternoon, maybe getting to 11,
00:5112, possibly 13 Celsius in that warmer air. But it is quite grey out there and that cloud
00:58and rain and drizzle will continue to track eastwards through this evening. Clearing from
01:02Scotland and Northern Ireland and so here it will turn quite chilly with the possibility
01:07of a touch of frost in places. But enough of a wind, which will be quite lively across
01:11the Northern Isles to bring a few showers in here, but actually keep the temperatures
01:15up generally across the far northwest. It's the eastern side of Scotland where as I say
01:18we'll see some pockets of frost, but we're a long way from frost across the south with
01:23much more cloud, rain and drizzle. And that rain could pep up for a time across the Midlands,
01:28parts of eastern England into Tuesday. The odd heavier burst possible here and there.
01:33But clearing from Wales and Northern England, southern Scotland, Northern Ireland, a much
01:36much brighter day here tomorrow with some good spirals of sunshine. The odd shower keeping
01:41going across the Highlands, the Northern Isles and the Western Isles where it stays pretty
01:45gusty too. Further south the winds will be lighter and that patchy rain taking most of
01:50the day before it clears away from Kent and east Anglia. Still quite mild across the south,
01:549, 10, maybe 11 Celsius. Clearer skies further north, but cooler air coming in here. So quite
02:01quickly through Tuesday evening with these clear skies and light winds, it will turn
02:06quite chilly with frost likely to form. And as well as that frost, we could also see some
02:12patches of fog forming on Tuesday night and into Wednesday morning. That's going to be a feature
02:16of the weather through the rest of this week because high pressure is moving in, keeping
02:21the weather fronts to the north. We will at times see some patchy rain across the northwest
02:25of Scotland and quite windy here as well. But further south, high pressure bringing
02:29light winds, a lot of dry weather this week, but increasing likelihood of nighttime frosts,
02:36but also some dense and stubborn fog patches. Hard to shift fog at this time of year. So
02:41if you do get some fog, it could last for much of the day. But equally, if you don't
02:44get the fog, it could be fine and sunny. So a lot of calm weather to come through the
02:49rest of this week. A full week ahead forecast will be available on our YouTube channel on
02:54Monday afternoon. So subscribe to that. You'll never miss a forecast, but also make sure
