00:00Hello, welcome to the latest update from the Met Office. There'll be wet and windy weather
00:04for many of us at times through the weekend. But there'll also be some drier interludes.
00:08And throughout Friday night there is one of those drier spells. We're between weather
00:12fronts. So this occluded front has brought rain to many northern and north-western areas
00:16through the day. That's going to push up to north-eastern areas where it will likely stall
00:20throughout the night. And then through the early hours of Saturday morning this next
00:24weather front brings the next batch of rain. But between that we do have a drier interlude.
00:29So there will be some dry weather through Friday evening, particularly across south-eastern
00:33and central areas of the UK. That clearers spell then moves northwards throughout the
00:38night. The showers across south-western Scotland do finally push up into north-eastern areas
00:44of Scotland. However, there's still a weather warning in force throughout the whole night
00:48all the way through until Saturday for these areas, as well as parts of Northern Ireland
00:52for heavy rain. There's quite a lot of water on the roads already and river levels are
00:56already quite high. We've got a southerly breeze across the country, winds quite strong
01:01across the Northern Isles and the breeze will really pick up across the south and that will
01:05hold temperatures up well up into double digits for many areas across southern areas. But
01:09it's going to be a very damp start to the weekend. There's a weather warning for heavy
01:14rain across southern areas of the UK. That's where we've already got a lot of water on
01:18the roads and high river levels as well. That rain then pushes north-eastwards throughout
01:23the day and behind it we do get a bit more sunshine developing, but the winds will also
01:28pick up. There's a wind warning in force for many areas of Wales, England as well as parts
01:33of Northern Ireland as well. We could expect some particularly strong winds around Irish
01:38Sea coast. So with a strong breeze, despite the milder temperatures, it will still be
01:43feeling a little bit fresh out there. The rain will really persist across northern areas
01:49of Scotland, particularly the north-east where again river levels are high and there's already
01:52some water on the roads. So do take care if you are in these areas throughout Saturday
01:57afternoon. Then we get another dry interlude Saturday night into Sunday. We get a little
02:02bump in the isobars, high pressure building for a time as the low pressure from Friday
02:07and Saturday finally shifts off to the east. We do then see another weather front moving
02:13in by the end of Sunday though, but the kink in the isobars will bring some drier weather
02:18to start on Sunday, particularly across central and eastern areas of the country. So the early
02:23rises will get the best of the bright weather through Sunday morning, but there will be
02:27a spell of wet weather that will sweep across the country for a time around lunchtime, which
02:32then once again lingers and settles itself down in parts of Scotland as well as Northern
02:37Ireland. The winds also will be very strong again on Sunday afternoon, particularly around
02:42any western coasts and temperatures around 11 or 12 degrees, but still feeling quite
02:47fresh in the breeze along coastal areas and under the cloud and rain across the north,
02:51not feeling much warmer at all. Into next week, we will see the continued unsettled
02:58spell at least for the start of the week, but there are signs from midweek onwards of
03:01things settling down, but you can find more details on that by subscribing to our YouTube
03:05channel. Bye bye.
