00:00Hello, welcome to your latest weather update from the Met Office. Low pressure still very
00:04much in charge of our weather through Sunday evening and into Monday, with Storm Fergus
00:08moving its way across the UK overnight on Sunday. A brief ridge of high pressure through
00:13Monday before the next system then arrives from the west into Tuesday afternoon. We then
00:18see a very brief ridge of high pressure developing through the middle part of the week, perhaps
00:22bringing something a little bit more settled across much of the UK through Wednesday and
00:26Thursday. Back to Sunday evening though, and that storm, Storm Fergus, slowly pushes
00:32its way eastwards across the UK overnight Sunday and into Monday morning, bringing some
00:36particularly heavy rain to northern parts of England. There will also be some very strong
00:40winds across west Wales and through the Bristol Channel we could see gusts up to 60mph here,
00:45but elsewhere it will be turning a little bit drier through the early hours of Monday
00:49morning. Temperatures across the southern half of the UK generally holding up around
00:53seven or eight degrees, but across parts of Scotland a much colder night, perhaps as
00:57low as minus one or minus two. This could lead to some icy conditions, particularly
01:03across southwestern parts of Scotland through Monday morning, but elsewhere it will be a
01:06much drier and brighter day compared to what we've seen recently. Plenty of sunshine as
01:11we head through the afternoon, but a few showers across central and northern parts of England
01:15and along eastern coasts of Scotland as well. Elsewhere though, a dry afternoon and plenty
01:19of sunshine and with some lighter winds compared to what we've seen recently, it will be feeling
01:23pleasant in that sunshine, particularly across the south. Temperatures here around ten to
01:27twelve degrees and temperatures generally around average across the north. That drier
01:33weather doesn't last long though, as through Monday evening we see this next area of low
01:37pressure moving towards the UK. This will bring some heavy rain and some showers, particularly
01:42across Northern Ireland and Wales and then into parts of Northern England through Monday
01:46night and into Tuesday. There will be some breaks in those showers, particularly across
01:50the southwest, but feeling very blustery here and those blustery winds perhaps keeping temperatures
01:54in the double figures across the very far southwest. Elsewhere, temperatures generally
01:58the low to mid single figures, so a bit of a chilly night. A very cloudy start though
02:04across much of the UK on Tuesday. That rain continues to push its way north and eastwards
02:09into parts of eastern Scotland, where it will turn particularly heavy through the day on
02:12Tuesday. We could see some localised flooding here as that ground is very saturated from
02:17the rain we've already seen, but further south there will be some breaks between the showers,
02:21however those showers likely to be quite heavy at times. With some blustery winds as well,
02:26it will be feeling colder compared to Monday. Temperatures are similar again around ten
02:30to twelve degrees and further north generally around average for the time of year. That
02:35wet weather continues as we head through Tuesday and into Wednesday, but those hints of something
02:40more settled through Thursday and Friday. You can find out more about that though by
02:44subscribing to our YouTube channel to never miss a weather update. Bye bye!
