00:00Good evening. Welcome to your latest update from the Met Office. After a pretty nice start

00:04to the week, things will turn much more unsettled across the UK for Tuesday. That's as we've

00:09got this area of low pressure pushing in from the Atlantic overnight tonight, dragging through

00:14this quite active cold front through the evening. That will bring heavy rain throughout tonight

00:19to Northern Ireland as well as parts of the West Country, South West Wales as well. And

00:23there's a rain warning in force for the whole of Northern Ireland through the night. So

00:27do take care if you're travelling here in the morning. The rain then resides across

00:31north eastern areas of England into south western parts of Scotland through the early

00:34hours of tomorrow morning. There could be some heavy, potentially thundery downpours

00:38within this rain. Behind it, we do get a slightly drier slot, but quite quickly we'll see things

00:44turn much more unsettled with gusty winds and some heavy showers pushing in from the

00:48West Country. But they will be brought in on a south westerly breeze and that will increase

00:53the temperatures through the night. So it will be a bit of a chillier start to the night,

00:56particularly across northern and eastern areas of the country. But cloud cover increases,

01:01wind speeds pick up as well and temperatures will rise by the morning. So it will be a

01:05milder start after a chillier night tonight. Start to the night tonight. So the rain pushes

01:10up into northeastern areas throughout tomorrow morning and then it will linger across northeastern

01:15parts of England as well as southeastern Scotland. There's a heavy rain warning in force for

01:19here. There's been a lot of rainfall here recently, so the ground is well saturated.

01:25Behind that, as I said, plenty of showers developing. These will push into parts of

01:28the Midlands by the middle part of the day. And with not much of a breeze, they could

01:32be quite long lasting showers. They bring a risk of hail and thunder as well. So a bit

01:37of a unsettled, unpleasant day for many of us, particularly if you get caught in any

01:41of those showers. But temperatures around 10 or 11 degrees. The best of any dry and

01:46bright weather will be across the Highlands and Western Isles through much of the day

01:49where it will actually stay quite dry for the whole of the day. And then that drier

01:54weather through the course of Tuesday evening becomes more widespread as we see that area

01:59of low pressure slope away to the east slowly. But surely it will linger quite a lot of cloud

02:05across eastern areas as well as some drizzly rain across the southeast into Wednesday morning.

02:10But for many of us, it will turn drier through the night and we'll see actually quite a lot

02:13of long live clear spells across Northern Ireland and Scotland. So it'll likely be a

02:17frosty start to Wednesday for these areas elsewhere, a milder start compared to northwestern

02:22areas, but with plenty of cloud with plenty of cloud around. But it's a little bit fresher

02:27than tomorrow morning. Wednesday morning sees quite a lot of more cloud and rain still lingering

02:33across the southeast, but elsewhere it's actually a much drier and finer day. But after the

02:38frosty start, temperatures will struggle. But with light winds, it'll feel fairly pleasant

02:42in the sunshine by Wednesday evening, though it's starting to cloud over across the northwest

02:47and that this area of rain will push eastwards through the course of Thursday, but will tend

02:52to pitter out as it does so. There's some heavy rain in the forecast, as I said, for

02:55the course of Tuesday and rain warnings in force. So it's worth keeping up to date with
