00:00Hello, welcome to your latest weather update from the Met Office. Low pressure is still
00:05very much in charge of our weather over the next couple of days and into the new working
00:08week. Storm Ellen, named by MetErin, slowly moves its way out to the North Sea before
00:13Storm Fergus, also named by the Irish Met Service, moves its way towards us through
00:17Sunday and into the start of Monday. This is followed by a very brief ridge of high
00:22pressure before the next system moves in later on Monday and into the start of Tuesday. Back
00:27to Saturday evening though and Storm Ellen gradually moving away towards the North Sea
00:31but still bringing some rain across parts of Northern England, Northern Ireland and
00:35Scotland as well and this rain already falling on some very saturated ground so some localised
00:40flooding possible. Some clearer skies though across parts of England and Wales and temperatures
00:44here generally a little bit above average for the time of year around 6 or 7 degrees
00:48but definitely dropping a little bit lower across the northern half of the UK. So despite
00:53that brighter start across parts of England and Wales the next system moves in quickly
00:58from the west through Sunday morning. Again this bringing some very heavy rainfall to
01:02Wales, Central and Northern England again falling on that very saturated ground so some
01:07localised flooding through Sunday morning. Some brightness developing though across England
01:11and Wales behind that system so some sunny spells through the afternoon but with a strong
01:15south-westerly wind that will take a notch off those temperatures with temperatures here
01:19around 13 or 14 degrees. A much damper and cloudier picture though across the northern
01:24half of the UK and temperatures here generally the mid to high single figures. Through Sunday
01:30evening Storm Fergus slowly moves its way towards the UK bringing some further outbreaks
01:35of heavy rain to Northern Ireland then Wales and Northern and Central England through the
01:39early hours of Monday morning. This does quite quickly clear its way towards the south-east
01:43so some clearer spells possible through the early hours of Monday morning but in Scotland
01:48definitely staying a bit of a wetter picture and temperatures generally on Sunday night
01:53into Monday morning around 7 to 8 degrees across the south and in the low single figures
01:57across the north. So a very cloudy and wet picture across parts of Scotland that rain
02:02continuing to push in from the east through the early hours of Monday morning perhaps
02:06turning wintry over any high ground. But for much of the rest of the UK generally a bit
02:10of a drier and brighter start to the new working week. Plenty of sunny spells as we head through
02:14the afternoon but winds start to strengthen from the south-west and cloud builds as well
02:19as that next system arrives. Temperatures though on Monday a little bit closer to average
02:24for the time of year around 10 to 12 degrees across the south and around those low to mid
02:29to high single figures. The next system waiting in the wings through Monday afternoon and
02:33into Tuesday but you can find out more about that forecast via our social media channels
02:38and don't forget to subscribe to YouTube to never miss a weather update. Bye bye.
