00:00Hello there. Sunday got off to a very warm and humid start for many of us, and the heat
00:06will continue to build throughout the day. It has been dry so far for much of England
00:10and Wales, but further towards the west has been a touch damper. This band of rain been
00:15pushing its way through across Northern Ireland and is now moving into parts of Western Scotland
00:20as well. As we move throughout the rest of Sunday, that rain will continue its progression
00:25eastwards with some thunderstorms potentially developing across Northern England into eastern
00:29Scotland. The showers that also develop across eastern Northern Ireland could also go bang
00:33with the risk of some hail in there. There is the risk of torrential downpours, perhaps
00:38some travel disruption in these areas as we head throughout the afternoon and into the
00:42evening as well. It's going to be quite a blustery day for many of us, particularly
00:46as that showery rain pushes through, but at least for Wales and into southern areas of
00:51central England, it is going to be a dry one. The heat though really building and the humidity
00:58still in place, temperatures climbing to over 30 degrees Celsius, potentially up towards
01:0332. If we do hit 32.3 Celsius, that would make it the warmest day of 2023 so far. Accompanied
01:12with that, UV levels are going to be very strong throughout the day. So if you are heading
01:16outside, do remember to think about that skin protection. But for those that enjoy the heat
01:21and want some evening sunshine, there will be a fair amount of it across Wales, central
01:25southern areas of England. It will also turn drier further towards the north as that band
01:29of rain pushes eastwards, though going to be quite a wet night for Shetland as that
01:34rain does move its way through. The heat slowly abating, but still across areas of the south
01:41east as we want to head to bed around 10 o'clock. Temperatures will still be holding up around
01:4521, 23 degrees Celsius, starting to turn fresher from the west because our winds are shifting
01:51to a westerly direction that is helping to feed in some slightly fresher and less humid
01:56conditions. And that air is going to continue to push its way across the rest of the UK
02:01as we do head throughout the rest of the night. So come dawn on Monday morning, we'll be more
02:06widely down into teens and it will be a bit more comfortable as we start off Monday morning
02:11compared to where we started off Sunday morning. It does also mean that there's a fair amount
02:15of sunshine first thing to start off the new working week, but the showers will begin to
02:20bubble up as we head throughout the late morning and into the afternoon, particularly
02:24across the northern half of the UK. Some of those could be heavy with still the chance
02:27of some thunderstorms in there, but there'll be some sunshine in between as well. Again,
02:32it's going to be Wales, central, southern areas of England that see the best of those
02:36drier and sunnier conditions. Just a scattering of showers really through the course of the
02:41day. Temperatures widely fresher and down compared to where we will see them throughout
02:47Sunday, generally between 1923 degrees Celsius, but still feeling warm in the far southeast
02:54around the mid 20 degrees of Celsius. There'll also again be some evening sunshine as we
03:00end the day, but generally turning hazier as this wispy cloud pushes its way through.
03:05The showers will ease their way off into the overnight period. Many of us staying dry,
03:10but this rain is lingering in the very far west and is going to start pushing its way
03:14into Northern Ireland through the early hours of Tuesday morning. That sets us up for a
03:20slightly wetter and damper day across the board on Tuesday. And there are further frontal
03:25systems and bands of rain waiting in the wings for the rest of the week as well. So it is
03:29looking to be quite an unsettled one. Could be windy at times as low pressure stays with
03:34us and those ice bars squeezed together. But we'll keep you up to date with everything
03:38as we head throughout the forthcoming week. And you can find all the latest information
03:42across our social media channels. And we're back with you again very shortly. Bye bye.
