00:00Hello there. The second half of the weekend is turning out to be a fairly breezy one for
00:05some of us. If we look at some of the latest wind gusts we've recorded this morning, 60
00:10miles per hour across parts of Scotland, but quite widely gales around coasts of northern
00:14and western Scotland. Even across the Pennines, 43 miles per hour recorded here, so it is
00:20generally quite a windy one for the northern half of the UK, and it will remain fairly
00:25windy into the afternoon as well. This comes accompanied by a band of rain moving
00:29across Scotland into parts of Northern Ireland as well. Some heavier bursts are possible.
00:34For England and Wales, the theme is a drier one, a few drizzle patches still to watch
00:37out for underneath the cloud, but also some brighter sunnier intervals coming through
00:41for southwest England, southern Wales and into the Midlands as well. Temperatures for
00:46England and Wales will be hovering around 8-9 degrees Celsius, but it's for Northern
00:51Ireland and Scotland underneath that clouds and with the winds coming up in a southwesterly
00:55direction where we'll get those double digit marks. 12-13 degrees possible across northern
01:01coasts of Moray and Aberdeenshire. The cloud, rain and the wind not necessarily making it
01:05feel the most pleasant, and we will continue to see that band of rain move southwards into
01:10this evening. It will fizzle out as it does so, turning patchier in nature, so most of
01:14England and Wales not seeing too much in the terms of rainfall. Clearer intervals following
01:19behind that, but also some showers for Scotland, maybe into northern coasts of Northern Ireland
01:23as well. Some of these will be heavy with hail in the mixture, snow falling down to
01:28around 400 metres over the Scottish mountains. Remaining fairly brisk overnight with those
01:33winds as well, so the chance of frost is reduced for many of us, perhaps touching low single
01:39figures down towards that 0 degree mark in some sheltered areas of Northern Ireland and
01:44the Welsh Valleys. For Monday morning then, some of that cloud and rain just lingering
01:49the far south to begin with, and there will be a few showers still across northern areas
01:53as well, but those tending to ease out, and a good number of sunny intervals developing
01:58throughout the day, and actually a pleasant start to the new working week for many of
02:02us. The wind's also easing out, but remaining a bit brisk across Shetland until later on
02:07in the afternoon, and during that afternoon period as well, we will start to see the cloud
02:11building across Northern Ireland into western areas of Scotland as well. It will feel noticeably
02:16cooler across the northern half of the UK on Monday, compared to Sunday, now around
02:228-7 degrees across Scotland and Northern Ireland, but still the chance of reaching double digit
02:27figures across southern areas of England now. Into Monday evening we'll continue to see
02:33that cloud and rain pushing in from the west, so now moving into more areas of Scotland
02:37and then eventually the western coast of Wales, north west England, and the far south west
02:41as well. This comes associated with a cold front that will continue to make its way southwards,
02:46eventually clearing off all areas, but behind that we get another squeeze in the isobars,
02:52and it's here where we can see some particularly strong winds for the end of Tuesday and into
02:56the start of Wednesday across Scotland. So we have issued a yellow wind warning for this,
03:0260mph gusts are possible quite widely, but 80mph gusts are possible across parts of Orkney,
03:09Lewes, and northern areas of the mainland as well. So do take care as some hazards are
03:14certainly possible. Keep up to date with the forecast for any changes to that warning
03:18that are made over the coming days. You can do that by following us on all of our social
03:22media channels and we will be back with you again shortly. Bye bye.
