00:00Hi there, it's set to turn rather windy over the coming night, particularly for western areas. Taking a look at the bigger picture
00:06we can see a low-pressure centre that's set to the southwest of the UK.
00:10This has already brought a swathe of strong winds into southwest England and Wales and then a second pulse
00:15comes up through the early hours for these locations as well. The pink colours here showing the strongest
00:21gusts of 60 to 70 miles per hour before that then heads up towards Northern Ireland and southwest Scotland.
00:27Taking a look at the detail in that, strong winds will be accompanied by rain
00:31spreading across Wales, parts of western England and then into Northern Ireland and Scotland as well. This heavy at times.
00:38Staying drier across eastern areas, but the clouds building here as well and underneath that cloud for everyone
00:44it will stay relatively mild overnight with temperatures in towns and cities holding up in around 7 or 8 degrees,
00:50just a bit chillier in some rural spots.
00:53Moving into Sunday morning and it will be a windy one particularly across those Irish Sea coastlines with the
01:01wind warning still in force.
01:03The rain continues to spread northwards and eastwards, turning patchier as it does so and we then see showers feeding in from the southwest
01:10behind this. These could again be heavy at times with some isolated hail and an odd rumble of thunder thrown in the mixture as well.
01:17Temperatures tomorrow climbing to highs of 12 or 13 degrees, so just slightly above average for the time of year.
01:24Sunday evening is set to be a similar picture with some clear intervals in between the showers that continue,
01:30those showers being most persistent for southwest England, Wales and then also into parts of Northern Ireland and western Scotland.
01:37The week ahead though looks to be rather mild to begin with, particularly in the southeast.
01:42There will be a wet interlude for the middle section though before it turns drier again towards the end.
