00:00Hello there. Some of us heard a few rumbles of thunder through Saturday and more of us
00:05have the potential of seeing lightning and hearing thunder on Sunday as well. To kick
00:10off the morning we had a few thundery showers across parts of northern Scotland and into
00:14north-western England as well. Elsewhere we have had more in the way of sunshine to kick
00:19off the day but that sunshine is going to help those showers to develop once again.
00:24They could bring torrential downpours of rain with hail in the mixture as well so do be
00:29prepared for some tricky travelling conditions. These showers are going to be hit and miss
00:33though so whilst there is a thunderstorm warning in force for central southern areas of England,
00:38Wales up into north-west England and parts of Scotland as well. Not everywhere in that
00:42region is going to see a thunderstorm but the risk is certainly still there. In terms
00:48of our temperatures for the day probably feeling slightly cooler today compared to Saturday
00:52for Scotland and parts of Northern Ireland due to the increased cloud that we have lingering
00:56around but particularly for areas of England where we hold on to that sunshine in between
01:00the showers it's going to be another very warm hot day temperatures climbing towards
01:0530-31 degrees Celsius across south-southeastern areas of England. Do remember that regardless
01:12whether you've got the sunshine or the cloud UV levels are going to be high or very high
01:17for all of us so do think about that skin protection if you are stepping outside. Pond
01:22levels are also going to be high for the vast majority of us for those hay fever sufferers.
01:27Into the evening some of those showers will linger on for a time, generally across the
01:32northern half they will ease their way off eventually but we've got to watch out for
01:35this band that's going to linger across parts of southern England and into southern Wales
01:39during the overnight period. That will be more heavy rain, still the odd thunderstorm
01:43is possible but certainly the rainfall totals topping up. Elsewhere for all of us it's going
01:49to be a muggy night to come, temperatures holding up in the mid to high teens so it
01:53can be quite uncomfortable for sleeping particularly across our urban areas. It will be quite a
01:59murky start to Monday for parts of southern England as this cloud laps in across the channel
02:04and also across northern areas of Scotland as well. During the daytime some of that cloud
02:09will burn off for inland areas but it could linger along some coastal parts. Elsewhere
02:14a good amount of sunshine to kick off the day but again that sun is particularly strong
02:18and will help develop those showers as we head into the afternoon period. So there are
02:23further thunderstorm warnings in force primarily for Midlands into Wales, western areas of
02:29Northern Ireland, Dumfries and Galloway and also the Highlands and other areas of North
02:33East Scotland. Again do be prepared for some surface water issues where thunderstorms do
02:38occur, 30mm of rain is possible within an hour and could again provide some tricky travelling
02:44conditions. Temperatures, it's going to be another hot one again on Monday, climbing
02:50again to at least the high 20s, 30 degrees Celsius still possible through areas of the
02:54Midlands and parts of England. Temperatures, now we've seen the sunshine a bit more for
02:59Northern Ireland and Scotland again climbing up towards those mid to high 20s, everyone
03:03really feeling that heat. Into the evening period again the showers will linger on for
03:08a time so it will be still some thunder and lightning possible as people are travelling
03:13home on Monday evening but they will eventually clear their way off as we head into the overnight
03:18period. Naturally as we move towards the middle part of the week we will see fewer of these
03:23showers developing by day as high pressure wants to build its way in. But we'll have
03:28further updates and details on all the weather we can expect throughout the coming week across
03:33all of our social media channels and we'll be back here on the app on the website and
03:37on YouTube very soon. Bye bye.
