00:00Hello there. We are starting this weekend off on a relatively showery theme and so far
00:05this morning we've already seen some heavy showers, longer spells of rain for parts of
00:09northern, southeastern Scotland, down into Merseyside, Wales and southwest England as
00:13well. Elsewhere there has been some sunshine to kick off Saturday but increasingly into
00:18the afternoon we'll see those showers developing a bit more widely. Could be quite on the heavy
00:22side, some sharp ones with the odd rumble of thunder in there as well. For northeastern
00:28areas of England this is where winds will be lightest today and that will allow those
00:31showers to turn slow moving so potential for some travel disruption with surface water
00:36issues and localised flooding. Elsewhere there's a bit more of a breeze around so that will
00:40help move the showers through at a slightly quicker pace, also allow for a little bit
00:45of sunshine in between those showers as well. A touch cloudier for parts of Northern Ireland
00:49into western Northern Scotland and it could be quite gusty along some coastlines here
00:53as well. Generally temperatures just slightly below average for the time of year, generally
00:58ranging between 17 and 21 degrees Celsius. As we head into this evening those showers
01:04will continue on for a time but eventually they will slowly ease their way out and it
01:09will turn largely dry for central eastern areas of England with those skies turning
01:13clearer. Could allow for some isolated mist and fog patches to form overnight though as
01:18well. Showers persisting for western England into Wales, parts of Northern Scotland as
01:23well seeing some light and drizzly showers underneath the cloud that will persist here
01:27but it will be a relatively cool night for many of those towns and cities dropping down
01:31to around 10-12 degrees Celsius but some rural spots could also drop into single figures
01:36as well. Once any of that early mist and fog clears off across parts of eastern England
01:42and Scotland it will be a relatively bright and sunny start seeing the best of the conditions
01:46really but into the afternoon those showers that are in the west will gradually push their
01:50way eastwards. Some of those could again be on the heavy side but probably a reduced
01:54chance of seeing the thunderstorms and lightning tomorrow. Further west then it's this band
01:58of light and drizzly rain that's going to start pushing its way into Northern Ireland
02:02far west of Scotland turning into quite an overcast damp day here and that will also
02:08hold our temperatures back not seeing much higher than mid to high teens. Elsewhere perhaps
02:15temperatures just climbing by a degree or so thanks to that sunshine so climbing towards
02:1922 maybe an isolated 23 degrees Celsius across parts of southeastern England. Into the evening
02:26again the showers continuing on for a time before they eventually fade their way off
02:30and allow for some drier conditions to develop. This band of rain in the west though will
02:34gradually push its way eastwards so for Northern Ireland turning drier and a better evening
02:39to end the day compared to what they will experience throughout the day itself but the
02:43rizzle persisting through the Highlands, Argyll and Bute, the Isle of Man and down into Wales
02:47as well. This band of rain will slowly drift its way eastwards as we head into Monday as
02:53well but it will continue to fizzle out as it does so and that is because high pressure
02:58is building its way in from the Atlantic as we head into the bank holiday Monday for some
03:03of us so that's going to try and help settle things down a touch. There will still be some
03:07lingering cloud around particularly across central areas of England so a bit of an overcast
03:13day here but some sunnier spells developing elsewhere and generally fewer showers around
03:17compared to Saturday and Sunday as well. Do keep up to date with the full forecast though
03:23and of course we'll have further details on bank holiday Monday as we head over the next
03:28few days so follow us across all of our social media channels and make sure to subscribe
03:32on YouTube as well and we'll be back here very soon. Bye bye.
