Transcript
00:00Hello there. Temperatures rose above 30 degrees Celsius in places on Sunday to end what has
00:06been a very hot weekend. Even into the start of the evening around 6 o'clock, it is still
00:12going to be feeling very warm for many of us, particularly in the east, south, east
00:16temperatures in the high 20s for some of us as we move throughout the evening.
00:20But further towards the west, we are starting to filter in some slightly cooler, slightly
00:24fresher conditions, and that's due to these westerly winds pushing in from the Atlantic,
00:29allowing some less humid air to spread its way across the UK. So eventually into the
00:34overnight period, that fresher air will also move its way across into eastern areas as
00:38well.
00:39The northern areas of the UK Sunday turned into quite a thundery one as well, and there
00:44is still the chance of some thunderstorms, heavy outbreaks of rain for Northern Ireland,
00:49eastern England and eastern Scotland as we move throughout this evening. The heaviest
00:52rain moving off towards the north and east will be quite a wet night for Shetland and
00:56Breezy as well as that does move through, but it will turn drier elsewhere. Just a scattering
01:01of showers filtering in to the far northwest of Scotland, temperatures for all of us noticeably
01:07down compared to where they were last night. Parts of Scotland didn't drop below 20 degrees
01:11Celsius through the early hours of Sunday, but into the early hours of Monday, most of
01:16us will be down into mid, if not low teens, 12, 14 degrees Celsius. So more comfortable
01:22for sleeping for many of us.
01:25A lot of morning sunshine to kick us off in the new working week, but those showers
01:29in the west will gradually filter their way in, and further ones bubbling up across parts
01:34of northern England, Scotland, Northern Ireland in particular. Some of those showers could
01:37be heavy in nature, you might see the isolated thunderstorm as well, but there'll be some
01:42sunshine in between those scattered showers as well.
01:45For Wales, central southern areas of England more likely to stay driest throughout the
01:49day with some sunny spells, but the sunshine could turn hazier, particularly for southern
01:53Wales, southwest England, as this wispy cloud pushes its way in.
01:57Again, temperatures on Monday were feeling the benefit of that fresher conditions for
02:02some of us. So now around the high teens across the north and west, still relatively warm
02:07in the southeast, climbing towards the mid 20s, but less humid and hopefully a bit more
02:12pleasant for some of us.
02:14Into the evening again, there will be some late evening sunshine as those showers gradually
02:19ease their way off. And again, it will largely turn dry for many of us. But into the second
02:24half of the night, we're watching as this rain pushes its way in from the west and spreads
02:29across northern Ireland. So quite a damp start to the day on Tuesday here. The winds also
02:34strengthening around coastal areas in the west, turning quite breezy. Temperatures again
02:39overnight, probably dropping down to around 12, 14 degrees Celsius, but the humidity is
02:45just going to increase a touch as this cloud and rain pushes its way in. And that'll be
02:50spreading eastwards as we move throughout Tuesday. Some of the heavier bursts likely
02:54across parts of western Scotland, northwest England and into northwest Wales as well.
03:00The rain will turn patchier as it moves towards the east and actually the far south of England
03:04into southeastern areas, East Anglia as well, likely staying dry throughout the day, but
03:09probably cloudier compared to some recent days. Again, the winds strengthening, so particularly
03:14along western coastal areas. We will certainly notice that breeze throughout the day. Temperatures
03:19holding up around 19 to 22 degrees Celsius, but the humidity again rising compared to
03:26Monday just feeling that bit stickier. There is further rain and showers on the way as
03:32we move throughout the rest of the forthcoming week. So do stay up to date with the forecast
03:36and we'll provide you with the latest information across all of our social media channels. And
03:41we'll be back here again on Twitter, on YouTube, the app and the website very soon. Bye bye.
