00:00Hello and welcome to your weather update from the Met Office. Now this weekend is
00:05looking rather changeable, a little bit of a shock to the system in comparison
00:09with some recent days as low pressure is firmly in charge of our weather, giving
00:14some cooler and quite breezy conditions at times and also some showers which
00:19will be heavy in places. So let's have a look at the detail through this evening
00:24further heavy downpours across parts of northern England, southern Scotland and
00:28also this cold front sweeping its way north eastwards which will introduce
00:32some slightly cooler and fresher air which is good news if you've been
00:36struggling to sleep over some recent nights. So as we start Saturday there
00:41will be some brightness around, some sunshine first thing in the morning but
00:45quite quickly showers developing especially across western parts of the
00:49country and again they could be on the heavy side with the odd rumble of
00:53thunder mixed in. The best chance of staying drier and brighter on Saturday
00:57will be for eastern parts of the country especially East Anglia and
01:01southeast England although even here we can't completely rule out an isolated
01:06shower. Temperatures in the southeast with that sunshine climbing into the
01:10low 20s and elsewhere around the high teens for most. So for Saturday evening
01:16further showers for a time, they will gradually tend to fade away as the night
01:20progresses. Meanwhile the next batch of cloud and rain sweeping in from the
01:25west around that circulating area of low pressure. So as we start Sunday there
01:31will be a half-and-half story across the country with drier brighter conditions
01:36in the east but quite a lot of cloud already in the west and again some
01:41showers with heavy downpours at times and occasional rumbles of thunder once
01:47again possible. Again the best chance of seeing the driest and brightest weather
01:51will tend to be across the southeast corner but once again the odd isolated
01:56shower is possible. Temperature wise on Sunday perhaps a notch down on Saturday
02:01still just about reaching the low 20s in the southeast high teens elsewhere but
02:06that's about where we should be at this time of year. So as we head into next
02:12week is more of the same as that low pressure continues to dominate the
02:15weather so staying on the changeable side with further breezy and slightly
02:20cooler conditions and if you do have outdoor plans this weekend then do stay
02:24up to date with the latest forecast by following us on social media and using
