00:00Hello, high pressure is with us for much of this long Easter weekend, which means it should
00:05be fairly quiet and settled, with in fact some warm spells of sunshine for many. There
00:09is a change on the way later in the weekend, but I'll come on to that in just a moment.
00:14For the time being, we have a mixture of patchy cloud and clear spells overnight tonight,
00:19perhaps one or two spots of rain in the far north-west of Scotland, but dry for the vast
00:23majority of us. There will be some low cloud, mist and fog developing around some coastal
00:28areas, so that will be with us first thing on Good Friday morning. But it will tend to
00:33lift and break as the day progresses, perhaps one or two coastal areas just holding on to
00:38that stubborn low cloud throughout the day, and in fact south-western parts of the UK
00:43in general will tend to be cloudier on Friday compared with some recent days. For central
00:48and eastern areas though, there will be some bright or sunny spells, and in that sunshine,
00:53feeling really quite warm with temperatures into the low 20s, do bear in mind it is very
00:58easy to burn in the sunshine at this time of year. It's also worth pointing out a few
01:03showers are possible, first of all across parts of Northern Ireland late morning and
01:07into the afternoon on Good Friday, one or two of those will be on the heavy side, perhaps
01:11even the odd rumble of thunder, and also we'll start to see a couple of showers developing
01:16later in the day across parts of Northern England and southern Scotland. So those showers
01:22later in the day will become a little more widespread, tracking away northwards into
01:26other parts of Scotland overnight tonight and into Saturday. Elsewhere, once again it's
01:31a mixture of patchy cloud and some clear spells, and quite a mild night on Friday night into
01:36Saturday for just about all of us. So for Saturday itself then, again a mixture of cloud
01:43but some breaks in that cloud and some clear spells, the best of any brightness across
01:47south-eastern parts of England, where again it will be quite warm with temperatures into
01:53the low 20s, still a few showers across parts of Scotland, but elsewhere a lot of dry and
01:58fine weather around on Saturday. And temperatures once again reaching the low 20s in parts of
02:03the south-east, always a little bit cooler around coastal areas, particularly where we
02:08have an onshore breeze. So overnight Saturday into Sunday, and again it's a mixture of patchy
02:15clouds and clear spells, and still a few showers across parts of Scotland. And we start to
02:21see that change coming our way later on Sunday, and more especially into Monday, as a weather
02:26front brings some more unsettled weather with some outbreaks of rain and cooler conditions
02:31as we end the long Easter weekend. That's it from me, see you soon.
